Flight cancellation ordeal
I recently had a nightmare experience with a travel booking website. I was supposed to fly to Turkey, but unfortunately, my flight got cancelled at the last minute because of bad weather. I tried to contact the company to change my tickets, but I never received the new ones. They even charged me extra for this so-called service, and I couldn't reach anyone by phone or email. The lack of communication and unhelpful attitude really got to me. Now they're only offering me a small refund, with an extra handling fee on top. To be honest, my overall experience was a total disaster and I feel like they completely ripped me off.
Flight booking
I booked a flight for April 6th and it was quite pricey. I haven't received my ticket yet or any updates on my booking. I've reached out for help but haven't heard back from anyone. I really hope this isn't a scam. Looking forward to a response!
Tickets
Don't buy tickets through lol.travel
Don't buy tickets from them. They will charge extra money. Which is a scam. They charged me an extra AED 153 from the original price they show on their website, even though they have not confirmed with me or made approval for the payments, it is show something on the website and the bank deducts other amounts.
Every other booking was simple with other third-party websites. All other websites show the amount they are going to charge you. but Lol.travel showed different prices and added extra. Without telling me. So be very careful, not a trustee website at all. Don't buy through them.
I already tried to call them many times and emailed them and later on they answer my email with no appropriate answer.Could you send me lol travel contact phone number please? We made flights booking via loltravel and it looks that it was a scam... Thank you!
Check your hotel voucher...it cost me dearly!
I booked 2 all-inclusive hotel rooms for 5 nights at £4,000 in Now Onyx, Punta Cana with LOl Travel for Xmas 2018 (24th-29th Dec), enticed by a significant discount to what was already the most expensive rooms I had ever booked, having found their price was relatively lowest on TripAdvisor. The good news was the hotel on arrival confirmed a reservation for the requested 2 rooms, but only for 2 people. I had booked for 5 people in two rooms, but they said the voucher stated only 2 people.
Unfortunately I did not not notice the voucher, especially as it was anyway confusing, until I arrived in Punta Cana at the hotel, who charged me an additional $4,840 ( a further £4,000+!!) for the additional 3 people to stay in the 2 already booked rooms! Why would I book for only two people, when I flew 5 people there? Interestingly if I book the same hotel for next Xmas now the price is between £5,000 and £6,000 depending on the type of rooms with no discount. Therefore to assume £4000 was a fair price remains reasonable.
Given some of the feedback below I wonder whether the link from TripAdvisor to Lol Travel does not work properly, rather than this agency being fraudulent. I consider myself an experienced traveler, but clearly was at fault not noticing the voucher detail.
I contacted LOL Travel at the start of my problem, initially by phone to only a Italian call desk, who subsequently politely replied to my email saying it was my problem that I had booked for only two people. Whilst I recognise that there is potential for human error here the disappointment was that the agency failed to make any effort to assist me resolve the issue with the hotel.
Clearly the hotel knew they had me over a barrel...and charged me disproportionately at full list price...despite them feeling that they had provided 25% discount. Is it too late for LOL Travel to help me?The best prices on Skyscanner
I had never heard about this company before. I found a very good price on Skyscanner. Price showed was real and everything went as expected. Will definitely use it again.
