Historical tour experience
I just went on this amazing historical tour all about what inner-city life was like in Birmingham from the late 1800s to the 1930s. Jeremy was our guide, and he knew so much about that time – it was really interesting to learn from him. I had a great time and learned a lot, so I definitely suggest it to anyone who wants to learn more about Birmingham's history.
Fun day out at a magical place
My family and I had such a great time at that place. We went in and ended up staying for nearly 5 hours, we just didn't want to leave! The staff were all really friendly, and this volunteer called Roger was just brilliant with us children. He made the paintings and magic doors so fascinating for us!
Visit to Kingston Lacey in May
I went to Kingston Lacey in May. The staff in the rooms were really nice and helpful. I was a bit let down by how little of the mansion we could see. The leaflet they gave us was a bit confusing, I wasn't sure who it was meant for. I found it hard to follow the timeline of owners. Also, the signs for where you can walk your dog in the gardens were unclear, and it wasn't obvious how to get back to the car park without going where we shouldn't.
Exploring Cornwall NT sites
Hey, I've been a member of this awesome site for about a year now and I'm loving it, exploring all the National Trust spots here in Cornwall (luckily, I don't even have to travel far because I live here!). Places like St Michael's Mount, Trelissick, Godrevy, Trerice, Trengwainton, and Godolphin have been amazing to visit. And let me tell you, checking out Trelissick House and Godolphin House during Christmas felt like stepping into a fairy tale. I still have a few more spots to visit before I start exploring the rest of the UK!
My visit to the Colby Woodland Gardens
I visited Colby Woodland Gardens in Pembrokeshire and I was really looking forward to it, but when I decided to pop into the Bothy Tea room for some cream teas, they had run out of scones. Can you believe it? It was only 3 o'clock! They should still have plenty left for at least another hour. I ended up walking around the gardens feeling pretty disappointed with the whole experience, especially since the prices were quite high. I mean, why should I have to pay so much and not even get any scones?
Family Days Out
My parents and I really enjoy going on family days out together! We always have such a great time exploring interesting places like old mansions and beautiful gardens. Our absolute favourite one so far is the castle with the big maze - it was so much fun getting lost in there! We even managed to snap some lovely family photos in front of the flowers. I'm really excited for our next adventure!
Recent holiday booking
I recently went on a fantastic holiday and it was absolutely amazing! The destinations we went to were really lovely, the food was delicious, and the staff were so friendly. Everything was just perfect! However, when I tried to access my booking on the website, it was a bit difficult. The information about the holiday locations was helpful, but the new online account feature was quite disappointing. It only allowed me to update my name and address. I was hoping to change my membership type and add details for my siblings, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible. I hope that the folks in charge see this feedback and improve the system!
Historic site booking
Oh dear, why do they keep ignoring the suffering and history of my ancestors? It's just not fair how they dismiss our past like it never even happened. They really ought to stop pretending as if everything is perfect and start acknowledging the struggles and pain that people have endured. It's not all rainbows and sunshine, you know? We really need to remember where we came from and show respect for our history, not just sweep it under the rug.
New membership purchase
My experience with customer service when trying to buy a new membership online was really disappointing. I got in touch with the customer service team over a week ago, and had to chase them up multiple times just to get a reply. When I finally did hear back, it wasn't very useful and just made me feel annoyed. The lack of communication and unhelpful replies have made me decide not to bother getting a membership with this company anymore. It's really disheartening to see that the problems with the customer service team don't seem to be getting any better.
Holiday booking experience
My recent booking experience with this company was quite disappointing, to be honest. Booking a holiday was more complicated than I expected, and the website wasn't easy to use. I had some problems with it and didn't find many different accommodation options. I ended up feeling a bit let down by the whole booking process, which was a shame.
Membership renewal issue
I had a bit of bother with my membership renewal getting lost in the post recently. I gave customer service a ring and they were really helpful in getting everything sorted quickly and efficiently. I liked that they just concentrated on fixing the problem without trying to push any extra stuff on me or asking me to do a survey. Their service was top-notch and their no-fuss attitude really impressed me. Well done!
Holiday reservation
As a customer, I was a bit unsure about booking a holiday with the company because it seemed like they weren't treating people from different backgrounds fairly. But I talked it over with some friends who had good things to say, so I thought I'd take a chance. I ended up being really impressed by how well the staff treated me and the lovely places they had for me to stay. It turned out to be a holiday I'll always remember and look back on fondly.
Visit to Arlington Court Devon
Today, I visited Arlington Court in Devon and had a great time. The staff were really friendly and the house was amazing. However, I was a bit disappointed because there were lots of interesting things in the house, but no information about them! How am I supposed to learn without a guide? It's like going to a museum with no labels - not enjoyable! Also, some areas of the house were closed, so I missed out on seeing everything. I wish they had more volunteers so I could explore it all.
Membership experience
My time with the membership at this place was a total letdown. I thought the whole idea of it was terrible, showing clear favouritism towards certain groups. The staff's misinformation and bias were really unprofessional and have hurt the institution's reputation. I won't be signing up again and will suggest others stay away from supporting such a problematic organisation.
National Trust membership thoughts
We just renewed our National Trust membership after 20 years, but feeling a bit let down that we can't see a simple list of all the places we've visited. I was hoping that information would be easily accessible on the website.
Membership renewal issue
I'm really annoyed because I joined as a member and they've gone and taken my money a month in advance and refuse to refund it. It just isn't right, especially with everything that's happening in the world at the moment, you know what I mean? I thought I was being helpful to them, but now I'm finding it hard to cover my bills because of this. It's just not fair.
Food options at the National Trust properties
While I do appreciate how well-kept and lovely the National Trust properties and gardens are, I have to say I was let down by the limited food selections in the restaurants and cafes. It seems like they mainly cater to vegans and vegetarians, which doesn't leave much choice for those of us who aren't. For instance, when it comes to toppings for baked potatoes, non-vegans and vegetarians only have cheese or tuna mayo to choose from, with no options for hot meat fillings. On the other hand, vegetarians get a tasty mixed bean chilli, while us meat-eaters are left with nothing similar. It's a shame that there's not more variety and thought given to those of us who aren't vegan or vegetarian, especially considering we make up the majority of customers.
Membership purchase
We went to the property, paid up and got a temporary pass on paper as well as a parking permit. Six weeks later and still no proper membership cards. Despite lots of calls, emails and assurances, we're no closer to getting our permanent cards. It's been really annoying and disheartening not being able to enjoy the perks we paid for. Such a letdown and a waste of money!
Annual membership
I didn't think the annual membership was worth the money at all. The staff were completely disorganised and really rude, arrogant, and condescending in my opinion. Plus, everything at any place I visited seemed way overpriced for what you actually get. I've decided to cancel my membership now.
Souter Lighthouse cottage stay
setting of lighthouse is beautiful but if you expect a high level of finishing for your stay then beware , you could stay at far higher standards of accommodation for less. Mist furniture was so out of place it looked like the kind of stuff a charity shop would have difficulty selling.
The worst part was getting an admission from local staff that their had been complaints about the standards , only for NT head office to later deny there was any previous complaints.
Of course I’ll stay at other NT propertIes again (but definitely not this one ) and I’ll continue to support the organisation but this experience and terrible Customer Service attitude means I am compelled let others know . Good luck, choose your cottage well, and I just hope you don’t need to complainWe just stayed for a week at one of the Souter Lighthouse cottages, and I wish I'd seen this review first. The cottage was awful - freezing cold, with the heating set so we couldn't turn it up. The people in the next door cottage said they were using the oven to try to heat the place, but we noticed they left early, before the end of the week. I agree about the furniture - a bunch of old junk, way too big for the spaces (and not as shown on the National Trust website). The bathroom is awful, but worst of all was an ungodly stink in the wardrobe in the master bedroom, like something had died in there. We couldn't open the door. The whole place felt filthy. A disgrace to the National Trust.
