Climbing Rose Support Obelisk
I got my climbing rose support obelisk delivered today to support my 70-year-old climbing rose. I had to use some tape to keep it in place while putting it together, but overall, it's really good quality. I'm now thinking about replacing all my old obelisks with ones like these.
Mixed up plants
I ordered these really cool surfinia burgundy star plants, but when they finally bloomed, they turned out to be mixed coloured petunias. It was such a letdown, I mean, seriously Dobies? I was so disappointed when I saw them!
Pre-ordered succulents
I ordered three succulents from this place a while ago, hoping to get them soon. But, my order only arrived after a long delay. And, to top it off, they gave me a different succulent from what I wanted because the one I chose wasn't available. The replacement plant was also in a bad condition when it got here, which made the whole pre-order situation a let-down. To make things worse, the damaged plant is also out of stock, so they can't even send me another one. They offered me a voucher, but I asked for a refund since they didn't give me what I originally ordered. Sadly, I haven't heard back about my refund yet. In general, the service was bad and they didn't keep me updated. I won't be shopping there again, that's for sure.
Plant purchase
I've just bought some plants from this company and I have to say, I was really impressed with the service I got. The plants were packaged well, just like they said, and top-notch quality. I also had to get in touch with customer service about a delivery date mix-up (my fault), and the person I spoke to was professional, friendly, and super helpful. They really went the extra mile to help me out.
Tomato Plants
Ordered 12 tomato plants on 7th Feb 2022. The first arrived the third week in May but the bulk in the second week of June. This is late .... and maybe too late. All arrived in poor condition, loosely potted so they had shifted around in transit, badly bruised or broken top growth. One is a complete goner , the rest I am nursing back to health but ,coupled with the delayed arrival, it will be a miracle if we see any tomatoes from them this year. I also bought some courgette plants at the same time - they did at least arrive a little earlier but yet again were poor specimens and damaged in transit. I will not order from Dobies again.
Busy lizzie New Guinea Divine Mixed 24 plugs
Tiny plants with only 2 or 3 leaves per stalk, dispatched 3/6/21, delivered 9/6/21. Very disappointed in quality.
Now awaiting delivery of next part of order.
Will not be recommending this service.

Most disappointed with the whole lot this year - onion sets very small and weak, peas, poor germination, small seed potatoes, rhubarb roots delivered dried out, like an "Arabs dap", terrible service this year, have bought from Dobies for several years, I do not I will be doing business with them again. Admittedly, I received a refund for the rhubarb with no problem, the truth is they should never have been sent out. What has happened to Dobies? They used to be synonymous with quality and dependability - not any more.
Ditto to Bev and Diana Thomas below. Ordered begonia illumination apricot at the end of April and told they would come in May - June now - and I receive an email offering the exact thing at a reduced price and free delivery. by 6th June!!! I also cannot get anyone to talk to and sort out my problem.
Various including peas and beans
No positives really, Seeds arrived on time.
The boxes in which my peas and beans arrived appear to have been shaken and dropped from a great height. All plants were removed from the tray in which they were grown and all plants damaged to some degree.
Not really impressed with the courgettes or tomatoes. Courgettes barely germinated, spindly tomatoes. But at least they arrived undamaged.Tomato plants
All my tomato plants arrived damaged. Received a replacement and they were no better. Poor packaging with no warning of live plants. The diver left my parcel on the it’s side. It should have been upright!

Constant promises of delivery within the next week but nothing arrives.
Customer service useless. Can't get a refund as too late in the process yet not even dispatched.
Was told that I can refuse the delivery and then they can issue a refund.
How can I refuse something that never appears.
Will NEVER use or recommend this company again.I agree utterly appalling service I paid in april had date 21st may 25th may 31st may now told 11th june they do not respond to emails and dont answer phone never use again looking at the complaints something should be done
Soil and a plant
Awfull place I’ve been waiting for a refund for 2 weeks, ordered two weeks ago and have still not received my order despite ringing them 4 times, each time they tell me my order is on its way, they said they would ring me back and never have, still no refund either, absolute shambles if I could give no stars I would but it doesn’t give me the option.
Tomato & Strawberry plants
I placed an order on the 24th March for various tomato plants and strawberry plants. Strawberry plants arrived 6th May. 1 tomato plant arrived sometime towards the end of May. I have emailed them several times regarding the other tomato plants - no reply. I have since received an email saying they were unable to supply the remainder of the order and would refund the original payment method within 4 days. That was the 9th June - still no refund. Have emailed again - still no reply.
Whilst we are under exceptional circumstances, the lack of response given the time is no excuse and totally unacceptable.I had the same problem but my claim was for £9 for plants that never arrived. Send an email to them, showing your order number. Diary for 7 days and forward the email onto them again, with words like I’m still waiting. I did get my refund into the card I paid them with. I will never buy from them again.

I ordered and paid for my bedding plants on 19.4.20 and was informed they would be despatched on 18.5.20. No plants have been despatched and I have heard nothing from Dobies. Their customer services phone line is unavailable and they do not respond to emails. Happy to take your money but not deliver the goods or keep you informed. Never again!
2xbay trees
Absolutely nothing positive to say about Dobies. After 2 weeks no trees or communication from them; disgraceful company. Didn’t realise they had so many poor reviews. Now opened a case with PayPal so let’s see. Shocking, stay away.
I have had dealings with Dobies of Exeter they are completely useless, if you are lucky to get your plants from them, they normally arrive dead or in need of constant care, you can never ever get hold of customer care and they never never answer emails, DO NOT USE THEM,
Bedding plants
So disappointed with the plants delivered today. The packaging had not protected the plants and the majority are broken on the stems and flattened by the tray above. You should make sure they arrive fresh and protected if you advertise online delivery. Would not use this company again
Tomato Plants ????
I have received 2 of the 6 tomato plants I ordered, they arrived in a dreadful state, thin twisted stems, yellow leaves, I am not sure they will survive. I hope the others are not in the same dreadful state when they arrive !
Several items
I placed an order in April for 5 items. Received my second item today sat 16th may.. Paid 15.00 for this with delivery. Took 6 days to arrive all battered and basically rather pathetic. My first order arrived all tipped out the pots and broken stems.
I emailed them a week ago to cancel my remaining orders as it is still sitting on waiting for stock since 4th April. No response, would not use them ever again. I have since found a brilliant company half or less the price and delivered 24 hrs after despatch for the same price as dobies delivery.
Using the virus as an excuse for shoddy customer service and delivery. Personally I have had responses within a cpl days from companies I have had queries with.Seeds
I purchased 5 packets of seeds on 10/4/20 which arrived on 26/4/20. One packet (Leeks) was substituted for a different variety which was fine but on opening the packet there were only 13 seeds in it, there were supposed to be on average 500! I don't consider £2.99 good value for 13 seeds!
I have emailed Dobies twice and on each occasion I have received a standard email informing me of 'unprecedented levels of emails at this challenging time'. They have not responded personally so I do not know if I am getting replacement seeds. Won't bother again.Begonias, Impatiens, Alstromeria
Ordered the Begonias and Impatiens in MARCH, and the Alstromeria a little later just into April. To date I have received ZERO PLANTS. Today I received an e mail from them letting me know that I can get plants on offer!!! Galling or what!!!!!!! The begonias were to be despatched on 30th March today it is 30th April. Haven't even had the courtesy to reply to my e mails just the usual blurb which means nothing. I will never use this company again I will go now to DOBBIES!!!! I just hope I can get refund after this debacle. I know we are in rough times, we all are. If you cant stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen, greed is showing its ugly head everywhere right now. Its shameful.
That's my honest opinion of the company I would just say, go somewhere else. They are only getting one star because I cant go any lower.
