The Best of Singapore and Malaysia
To start with, the itinerary I booked in 2023 was changed in May 2024 so that our flight arrived in Singapore late afternoon rather than the early morning, so we effectively lost a day in Singapore.
My driver arrived early and apologized for not letting me know but apparently Titan didn't have a phone number for me. There was no Titan Rep at Heathrow. When I last travelled with Titan in 2020 to Antarctica there was a helpful Rep to meet and greet. On the flight, my requested vegetarian meal was "not flagged up". They rummaged around and found some biryani rice for me. I was served that twice. Everyone else had a choice of meal. Couples were not seated together and some were actually several rows apart.
he questionnaire I was asked to complete on my return referred to the Tour Manager as Andrew... in actual fact HER name was Andrea. A trip to a strawberry farm and market in Cameron Highlands was very disappointing and generally agreed to be a waste of time. Our final stop in Penang was way out of town. The last tour was the Saturday morning but our return flight wasn't until Monday evening so we kicked our heels for nearly two days - what a waste. These two days would have been better spent in Singapore and we could have visited the Science Museum and the Aquarium. The flight home again didn't have a vegetarian meal for me. It shouldn't be difficult these days to provide a vegetarian meal which had been requested more than a year previously. Hotels, Tour manager, guides and drivers were very good. Sadly, a very different experience compared to my previous Titan trip. Very disappointing and I won't be repeating the mistake. Titan has gone down heavily in my estimation.
