Appalling Customer Service – Donaghy Bros Failing Their Legal Duty
Donaghy Bros have completely failed in their duty—not just as a retailer, but under consumer law. I purchased a £1,400 Siemens washing machine from them, which has never functioned properly. Despite numerous engineer visits, the fault remains unresolved.
What’s worse is the disgraceful handling of the issue. I was repeatedly given hollow assurances by James, the general manager, that it would be sorted. Those promises were clearly nothing more than a tactic to delay and deflect responsibility. Months later, the machine is still faulty, and Donaghy Bros are refusing to act.
This isn’t a minor customer service issue. It’s a legal obligation they are blatantly ignoring. I’ve spent nearly £15,000 with them over the past five years—that apparently means nothing when they’re faced with a problem that actually requires accountability.
Let me be absolutely clear: Donaghy Bros are refusing to meet their legal responsibilities under consumer rights law. They are actively avoiding the situation, hoping it will go away. This is not only unacceptable—it’s unlawful.
Buy from them at your own risk. If something goes wrong, don’t expect help. Expect silence.
