The website booking process is unclear - I accidentally made a booking when I thought I was just going to the next step. I immediately notified Spotahome via email. It was on a Sunday so I could not reach anyone on the phone. The actual booking they made was not even for the days I requested. Next morning when I was able to get through by phone they refused point blank to give me any refund of the 620 Euro charge. Although the small print on the cancellation policy lets them do this the descriptions on their website give the impression that there is a 24 hour or even 48 hour period to back out. Be very careful if you are dealing with this company - they have no sense of what is ethically correct and rely on the small print to keep your money.
.... an update to the review above as this site does not seem to let me change it. Once SpotaHome fully understood the circumstances of the booking they agreed to provide a full refund. So full marks for service - 4 stars for ordering because their website dialogue could do with some improvement and a cooling off period with free cancellation - even for 3 or 4 hours - to make the booking process less stressful. And following this response I have no reason to doubt the integrity of their business ethics.
