    Leather Chair

    Do not buy from Furniture at Work!

    I purchased what was described as a Leather Chair, from Furniture At Work costing just over £180.

    It was supposed to be delivered within 5 days, but arrived after 2 and a half weeks. OK there has been a bit of a crisis going on (coronavirus pandemic in case you wondered), so I was OK with that.

    Anyway, when the chair turned up, I was shocked to see it was a Faux Leather chair and a different model to what I had ordered. I tried calling to report the problem but could not get through and was left on hold. No one ever answered the phone. I tried 4 times and nothing.

    I then decided to email them, numerous times with no reply!

    I was then later shocked to discover I was charged over £14 for 4 phone calls to Furniture at Work!

    After 3 weeks I got a reply and after also having spoken to the sales department on the phone, but not the customer services department, who never answer the phone.

    Anyway, they said they would escalate. A few days later I got an email from their customer services department saying that the transport team will be in touch soon to arrange a collection and credit. That was 2 weeks ago! I still have the unopened chair here.

    Not only should they be prosecuted under the trade description act, but their customer services is appalling.

    I have threatened legal action via email, requested a refund and reimbursement of the call charges I incurred whilst on hold waiting to speak to no-one! They do not give a toss, and have not even responded. Do not buy anything from these crooks because if you get a problem you will never get it resolved.

    I am now looking to take action against them from a legal and banking perspective.

    Avoid this company like a Covid-19 infection!

    This is so depressingly similar to my experience (see my complaint under OFFICE CHAIR below). I am currently investigating how best to bring legal action, via 'simple procedure' (in Scotland) as this company is unfit to trade. It cynically abuses the online purchasing system. DO let me know how you are getting on. It would be helpful.
