I recently bought a policy online, but then I decided I wanted to pay for it all in one go, instead of through monthly direct debits. Unfortunately, the website didn't offer that option. So, I gave customer service a ring and got through to a chap called Akeel. He was really helpful and polite. Akeel not only sorted out my one-time payment but also cancelled the credit agreement that the website had sneakily set up. He took the time to walk me through the next steps and made sure I knew there wouldn't be any sneaky auto-renewal next year. Instead, I'll get a renewal quote 21 days before my policy ends. This kind of transparency and great customer service was a breath of fresh air compared to other companies who just go ahead and renew without asking. All in all, I got exactly what I needed with a friendly and helpful voice on the other end of the line.
