Fresh milk delivery
I've been having some problems with my milk deliveries lately. Twice now, my milk has arrived with the seal broken and the lid not properly closed. It's really irritating, especially since I had already complained about mistakes in a previous delivery. The lack of care and quality control is disappointing. Because of these ongoing issues, I've decided to stop using this delivery service and go back to buying my milk from the supermarket.
Hi there Aiden,
We’re sorry it’s taken us this long to respond - we recently discovered this platform and are now reviewing all feedback, including yours. We take concerns like these seriously.
We're disappointed to hear about the issues you had with your deliveries. That’s not the level of service or quality we ever want to deliver, and we completely understand your frustration.
Broken seals and poorly closed lids are unacceptable, and we’re genuinely disappointed that this happened more than once. We appreciate you highlighting this as it helps us address the problem directly with our production and delivery teams.
While we’re sorry to see you go, we respect your decision and truly regret that we didn’t meet your expectations. If you ever consider giving us another try in the future, we’d love the opportunity to make it right.Review about: McQueens Dairies
Milk - not sealed
We opted to commence our milk deliveries with Mcqueens last year being much happier moving away from supermarket produce - albeit, somewhat expensive, felt it would be 'worth it'. All started fairly well.
One deliver per week - registering and getting the orders sorted was not the easiest, but the deliveries I have to say are regular and always there on a Monday morning.
We ordered 3 bottles of skimmed every week. Now and again, one tasted more like full ..., but had the red foil cap. As time passed, we found that some of the deliveries, the un-openend bottles were not reaching 7 days as it should, they had already badly curdled.
We then began noticing that the caps were not sealed properly. The signs were that milk was escaping through the bottle top and cap (alleged) seal. As milk was escaping, air would be getting in and as such, the milk was effectively being delivered 'already opened' and so good for only a few days.
We raised a complaint and said it would be rectified immediately.
The issue persisted and so we complained again only to be told that the previous lady we spoke to did not put the complaint through and that this time it would be 'resolved without fail'.
A few more deliveries on and the problem is still there. Why in 2025, can the foil caps not provide a seal on the bottle?.. managed it in the 70s and 80s,.. but oddly not now.
We called this morning to cancel our contract advising that the milk being delivered is not sealed and that it is only good for 2 to 3 days - their response was that animals are damaging the lids after delivery! We laughed but as the house is fully covered by CCTV, we checked just to cover our claim, as no animals come near it!
The issues seem to be quite common reading some of the reports on here. Shame as it was a nice feeling getting back to proper milk deliveries. Another concerning issue is that the milk is delivered around midnight as we found, ok in winter, but in summer, when the temperatures can be 15 to 20 degrees, it is not good for the milk to be outside in this temperature for 8 hours.
Would not recommend McQueens at all and find the customer interaction to be awful - typing up complaints onto invisible typewriters and then blaming animals for their failure to seal the bottles properly.Hi there Philip,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and I want to begin by sincerely apologising for the frustration you've encountered.
We truly value customers like yourself who choose to support local dairies over supermarket alternatives, and it's disappointing that your experience hasn’t reflected the quality and reliability we strive for.
Your comments about the milk quality, foil sealing issues, and the curdling of unopened bottles are taken very seriously. You're absolutely right to expect a consistent and safe product.
We currently aim to review packaging and seal integrity across our bottling process to identify and eliminate any failings.
You've also raised a very valid point about summer deliveries and temperature sensitivity. While many customers do leave cool boxes or ice packs out overnight (or our very own milk lockers!) we appreciate that this isn’t always practical. We're always open to new and innovative ways we can protect our customers deliveries, in between us taking it to your door, and you taking it inside.
I’m really sorry this has led you to cancel, but please know your feedback will be shared with both our customer care and production teams.
We’d still be more than happy to speak directly if you’re open to a further conversation to help resolve the issue fully.
Thank you again for your feedback - we take it seriously and will use it to improve.
found this as well, milk is effectively being delivered already open and so lasting only 2 days - their response is that it is 'animals causing damage to the caps after delivery has been made'!
