Morphy Richards Supervac 2-in-1 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner March 2020

I bought this at the beginning of March 2020. It was great whilst it was going..and then our troubles started. I thought it had lasted 13 months but No! Less than 11 months. I rang Amazon up and they had to contact Morphy Richards (MR). I waited a long time on the phone for Amazon to get through, not Amazon’s fault of course. All these other companies appear to use the pandemic as an excuse to say we are experiencing long delays when they could if they wanted to..hire more staff! I digress. Amazon arranged fir me to obtain a replacement and one was sent out. Great. But no the replacement had a fault in that the LED lights kept flickering and so as a consequence of power loss the roller that picks up the dirt stopped rotating intermittently. I decided to put up with it. This situation lasted from the middle of February 2021 to July 2021. About 5 months. Now I know for a fact that I extended the warranty to two years as I registered it. I wasn’t going to ask Amazon to step in again, but then changed my mind because after all I had paid good money and both only lasted a few months. So I contacted Amazon and again MR took ages to answer. Amazon put me through and listened on the line. MR’s rep took ages on the phone to fill in a form and explicitly told me that if I wanted a refund and not a replacement that the process would be a lot more straightforward and that I could have one and then I asked what to do with the not working vacuum cleaner. Dispose of it was the answer. This call was recorded. I was also told that it would take 5 days for the refund to show up. I paid by credit card so I waited and waited. Two to three weeks later I enquired with Amazon and yet again waited to be put through to MR. The MR rep indicated that I could not have refund because it wasn’t their policy to refund and the MR rep I spoke to couldn’t have said that. The rep was defensive and aggressive and I was lucky to get a word in edgeways. I was made to feel as though I was lying. After much remonstrating, and after being told I would not get a replacement either because I had disposed of the item…even though their rep had told me to dispose of it, I was informed that management would listen to the recorded call and possibly if they found that their rep had said that that I may be given a replacement as a gesture of goodwill. Goodwill? You couldn’t make this up! We are insistent that a replacement just wouldn’t be good enough! Look at the history of this product so far…abysmal to say the least. So I waited seven days to hear back…nothing! So I wrote an email to customer services and they replied that they had passed my email on to management and they will listen to the call. How many times have I heard that? How long does it take for management to listen to the call? It’s now another week and nothing. I shall give MR 14 days from my email date and then if I do not hear anything I will then take the matter even further. Are you reading this MR? I won’t stop until I get justice! Just bear in mind folks that you will not get your money back in any circumstance unless you buy direct from MR. I’ll bet you didn’t know this was their policy. Where does it state that?
