    Oliver's Travels deserve zero stars. Their customer service is truly appalling. Be very wary of doing business with them as it would appear that there is zero chance of a refund if things go wrong. But far worse than our experience with Oliver's Travels was our holiday experience at Chateau Camelot in The Lot, France. The property was in an appalling state of repair and we had to endure a stench of sewage emanating from the basement for the 7 days we were there. The owner (Mrs Rachel Cunningham-Day) and Oliver's Travels have refused to compensate us by way of some form of refund. They are responsible for ruining our holiday and have simply walked off with our £7,900. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!!

    I actually feel sort of bad for Oliver Bell, one of the co-founders of this thing. I think he genuinely tried to have a real business, but sadly for him (and me) ended up with something closer to the Fyre festival.

    Turns out having an online aggregator business involves more than just a website with pictures. Who could've guessed. It involves staff who answer phones, it involves refunds for non-fulfillment of services, it involves an intuitive user interface to achieve tasks other than simply take deposits. All of these mundane features built customer trust and repeat business, two things which you have completely eviscerated.

    Oliver - please stop telling yourself and us that the pandemic is the problem here. Have a look at the share prices of AirBnB and Booking Holding.

    Really awful experience, emails unanswered and now holiday cancelled without response!
    Really awful experience travel booked for 2020 and rebooked for this year! Emailed when they said they were open to change booking again for this year heard nothing other than automated reply. Have sent several emails and nothing… then today just an email to say the holiday was cancelled and deposit lost! I’m so disappointed particularly as I booked upon recommendation! Will avoid in future expensive lesson learnt and will make sure I tell friends and family to avoid too! I totally get we are in unchartered waters and everyone needs to navigate as best they can but feel superbly let down.

    At Oliver's Travels it's all about how to get and keep your money.
    No openness ,transparency or honesty
    Only at the point of completing a cancellation form or asking for a refund do they then let you know about other options, such as deferring balance payments
    They hide behind 'we are agents for the owner ' as an excuse for poor customer service and an excuse to refuse refund requests.

    I believe so.

    If you check their accounts in companies house, you can see they are paying themselves a salary of £130-160k/year, even after claiming they have been experiencing "cashflow problems" in multiple answers to clients. What I think is happening is that they are keeping their margins in any transaction (no matter if refunded). So, if a Villa is £4k, and they charge £5k, they keep the extra £1k and refund the £4k (if they refund at all).
    I would avoid as they only act as a middle man and are not able to solve any issues. You are left at the mercy of the owner of the Villa, while they keep thwir cut and deny any responsibility.

    They fully deserve the bad reviews as they provide no real value to their clients. It truly is a parasitic business.

    There accounts actually show that upto September 2020 their bank balance increased by £2.3 MILLION and their debts increased by a similar amount. Basically they’re taking the money and NOT paying their debts.
    Companies House is a useful tool to understand how companies behave.

    Do not trust this company. The listed prices are not accurate. Booked a villa as per the listed price and recieved confirmation email on that price. Only for company to increase price by £900 less than 24 hours later due to a "glitch". Avoid.

    Darowen Barn, Wales

    We are due to travel to Darowen Barn, Wales for our family christmas holiday this December 2020. Obviously we have paid our substantial deposit and our final balance payment is now due. As it stands we would be unable to spend christmas together at this cottage due to the rule of 6. However, Olivers Travels insist that we are still able to travel to the cottage even tho we would be a party of 8 adults, 2 children and 2 toddlers from 4 different households. They believe not attending the cottage to be "our choice" despite the governments rule of 6.
    They point blank refuse to defer our date as we are not within a 6 week period which I find proposterous considering the current pandemic. They also point blank refuse to let us have our deposit in the form of vouchers to use at a time when we would be permitted to travel as a family of 12. Olivers Travels also refuse to let us pay our final balance payment 1 week before we are due to travel if travel is permitted. We became exetremely anxious about paying said final balance payment after receiving contradictory emails stating that our final balance payment could be refunded one minute, only to be offered the final balance payment back in bouchers the next.
    This is the worst company I have dealt with for holiday booking refunds during the current COVID 19 pandemic. I have been shcked and appalled by their bullish attitude. Basically, pay your final balance payment NOW or lose everything! Utterly apalling. Their lack of customer service and flexibilty at this time is truly unbelievable. Surely a contract entered into and written before this pandemic is now void. A little bit of flexibility and understanding would have been very much appreciated at this difficult time.
    We will never use this company to book a holiday again!

    I lost $20000 to these low life people.Even in light of COVID,when travel was banned,they refused a refund or any portion thereof. They even kept the food and wine moneys, which obviosly could not be consumed. Your better off loosing your money at a casino,at least there ,you have a chabce of a positive return.

    Oliver travels is appalling. Do not use them or book with them. I wish I had read reviews of them before I used them. I hope I can make as many people as aware of what a terrible company they are so no one else has to waste considerable sums of money. We paid for a French chateau in full, which we were due to stay at in May 2020 and were unable to travel due to Covid-19. They completely refused to refund us, even partially, despite us not staying at the property and obviously not creating any costs like cleaning, laundry, food etc. Every other travel company we had used went out of their way to help customers where as Oliver Travels are directly profiting from people during COVID.

    I had the same experience, Appauling customer service, uncaring, cavalier, and money hungry . I lost almost $20000 dollars US to these unscrupulous s.o.b.'s

    I have seen this and I'm very worried. We are about to pay the remainder of a balance off to stay somewhere next August. We did ask to cancel and get deposit back as we had t omove the date twice due to covid. This wasn't possible. Is there any more advice?

    Appalling service from Booked through Oliver’s Travels. Villa was of a really poor quality and not as advertised. Been waiting more than 6 weeks for a response to our complaint. Oliver’s Travels accepting no responsibility. Do not use Oliver’s Travels to book a holiday !!!

    Villa in France

    I'm booked on a holiday on September 5th. Due to CV19 I am now wanting to cancel. Oliver's Travels have sent me an email with a link to a form for cancelling stating that I need to fill this out or they will charge my card for the balance in 48 hours. The issue is that the form does not allow you to enter holiday dates after September 1 so it can not be used. I've emailed them three times and all I get is an auto email that states that they have disconnected all their phones and they will try to get back to me on email. However, I have not received any email replies to date.
    Has anyone had any luck cancelling or getting in touch with Oliver's Travels?

    Should have said..... I will never use this company again following the disgusting way that they are treating me by completelyignoring me.

    We had a siimilar experience,when COVID 19 ended any chance of Travel to France, Oliver's kept all of our money and to add insult to our almost 19K injury, also kept our food and wine money.Really, a week worth of food was too much to refund,just to show some compassion and good faith. Greed shows it ugly face,it's called OLIVER

    DO NOT BOOK - Absolute Disgrace – Oliver's Travels / Villa Calo Bay. Please, please, please do not use this company or book this villa. Why, well let me explain – it was my father's 70th birthday in May and he had just recently been diagnosed with a medical problem. We decided that it would be good to book a family holiday as a surprise for his birthday, so we booked the Villa Calo Bay through Oliver's Travels for the 23rd – 30th May. My mother (pensioner) paid for the whole trip to ensure we could be together as a family. Then Covid-19 hit. I tried to ring Oliver's Travels but they are no longer using the telephone as means of communication. Various email were sent but replies were automated. I had asked for a refund (not unexpected in the current situation) and I eventually got a reply offering a change of dates into next year (which we could not do as a whole family) or a cancellation. I even asked them to contact the villa owners and ask if it could be refunded due to the circumstances (as Oliver's Travels are stating they are only the agent). They all came back with a resounding NO. So at the last minute I had to take the cancellation option and claim through my insurance – which has now come back as a refusal due to the fact I was offered a change of date!!!!! (beware). Again I have wrote to Oliver's Travels and have no reply (but I find it funny they can reply to posts on this site????). So now my mother is £2800 out of pocket and due to this we cannot even book a hotel in the UK not the lockdown is lifting. I find the whole matter a disgrace and I do not want any other familys to end up in the same situation. Yes, I find the whole Covid-19 situation terrible, but companies should not be taking and keeping people's money for holidays they have not delivered. Both the airline and car rental company both paid what we paid back – no question.

    All now sorted with Oliver’s Travels. It came down to a misunderstanding and everything is now resolved. Thanks Oliver’s Travel's.

    How have Oliver's Travels sorted this. They would not entertain me. Exactly the same situation. Booked large family holiday for June. Over £1200 deposit then Covid hit. They would only offer to move to 2021 and only if we paid the full balance by the due date in March 2020. Rebooking was not an option it was a large family holiday meeting up for a final family holiday due to upcoming weddings and babies. We have now taken this further. Shame they could not be more understanding with us. Shameful

    Who can we take issues further with Jacqueline? We are having no luck getting through to anyone. Just had a reminder about our balance for a trip to France in July with ko reference to covid 19 in it at all. I wish we’d never booked with them. It feels like they have us over a barrel and are making money from this situation.

    We are currently in exactly the same situation with Oliver’s Travels. It’s been an absolute disgrace and we are left with no holiday and 5k poorer as they have refused to refund us, even though this was guaranteed on the website just a a few months ago. now they keep changing their terms & conditions every other day, and are misleading customers. We have now threatened to take this further to the office of fair trade. Please don’t give up. We must all do this together and maybe if enough people actually take these matters further we might be lucky and get at least a response or even some money back. They are a rogue company and something must be done to stop them.
