Business Electricity
Just a warning for anyone using Love Energy.
After looking to change provider and went through everything with them online on 21 July 2023, I signed a contract for 2 years to changed our business tariff. Happy that this had been sorted did not check our bank statements and the bills until end of October when we we were quieter then saw that the old emergency rates which the standing charge alone is £1 per day was being applied. Called up Love Energy to see what they had to say and turns out that there was a computer issue (no idea if true).
Looking online this has happened quite a few times to other people. they tried to sign our company to SAVE! us money from now on. I asked that the current situation should been investigated as I have a pdf copy of the contract we signed back in July 2023 and therefore we had paid at least £100 extra per calendar month. They came back and offered £50 as compensation which of course I have not accepted.
Please, please stay away from this dreadful company, has cost us about £400 extra in bills. I would give 0 starts if there was any available.water
They are only interested in their commission and will tell you anything to make the 'sale'. I used them to switch electricity supplier (seems to have gone ok) and was then approached about switching water supplier by Rebekah Vipond. She sent me an email quote showing my current supplier costs (£1.6747 m3 and standing charge £89.25) vs Everflow (£1.592 and £25.42). On this basis I agreed to switch.
Low and behold in my first invoice there is a new fixed charge from Everflow described as a "Retail Fee" which means their Standing charge is actually £94.37.
Its such a cheap, nasty little piece of duplicity and both companies are clearly fully aware of this underhand means of tricking customers.
Avoid both companies and stick with companies that have a decent moral compass!Electricity business contract
What a con. pressurised call to take out business contract over a year in advance. Advisor did not mention start date of contract but it was in the "small print" . I agreed over the phone as the agent was very persuasive. Tried to cancel afterwards when I realised the prices was not competitive and the start date for a 3 year contract was a year ahead . Told by Love Energy that there is NO COOLING OFF PERIOD FOR BUSINESS CONTRACTS and I should have read the small print in the contract regarding the start date. I understand Love Energy are not covered by OFCOM as they are a middle man and not an actual energy supplier. So I am struck with them for 4 years and am really really annoyed that I have been sucked in without any cooling off period.

Energy
Thursday 9th July, between 14;00-16;00 had a call from Loveenergysavings, which I never used the comparison site to signup or requested a call from.
Ismail Essa (energy sales consultant) gave me a quote for energy which i thought it was from EDF energy and comparing there prices ( energy tariffs) with other companies.
I agreed on with a tariff from EDF energy with Xp PKW and standing charge of Xp a day. They have only taken a ‘signed’ verbal contract, also taken my card details which I thought it will be used for credit check. They have never sent a conformation email of what we have discussed on the phone. But luckily I have taken notes of every word that he said, and one of the things was that ‘you can cancel the contract within 30 day notice’.
I then received the REAL phone call that I was expecting from EDF energy… I then realised the miss understanding that has happened. The REAL EDF energy gave me so much better tariff/ price pkw than LOVEENERGYSAVINGS which i thought it to be EDF energy.
Called back LOVEENEGERYSAVINGS to discuss the misunderstanding that has happened and they said I could not cancel the contract.
Went on LOVEENERGYSAVINGS website to find customer service line, dialled them up to discuss and complaint about this issue that I have had. The guy who answered the phone said that I was connected to the wrong department will direct me to Ismail Essa. There was no answer so the call went back to him. He said "there is nothing that I can do and your holding the line, I have another customer waiting to connect also we are closing at 5 (which was in 5 mins). I then said I called before 5 and I’m also your customer you need to sort out this issue. He didn’t even care.
JUST LETTING EVERYONE TO BE AWARE OF YOUR CONSUMER CONTRACTS REGULATIONS.
Under the Cancellation of contracts ( CHANGE OF MIND) made in a consumers home or place of work regulations 2008 mean that if you’re within your 14 day COOLING-OFF PERIOD, you will be able to cancel with no issues.
1 ACT within the COOLING-OFF PERIOD if you entered into the contract over the phone, online or on your doorstep, you have 14 CALENDAR DAYS to CANCEL the contract under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. The cooling-off period starts the DAY AFTER YOU AGREE to go ahead with the service.
IF YOU’VE BEEN SOLD AN ENERGY PLAN DIRECTLY
They should also advice you of any cancellation fees applicable once you’re signed up, including when these apply and how you can cancel your plan without any penalty. If they haven’t told you about CALLING-OFF PERIOD, you have the RIGHT to CANCEL any time within 12 months without charge.
If they still won’t help, get in touch with Energy Ombudsman and/or a Lawyer to step in and assess your complaint (3rd party for complaints)
