Black boots, that were actually grey

I ordered a pair of black boots in the belief that I was buying some British-made footwear that was on sale.
What I received was a pair of scratched and scuffed *grey* boots that were made in India. The quality was outstandingly poor and an eyelet fell out before I could even try them on!

There was no paperwork for faulty returns included, and there is no information in their website. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 says that the customer shouldn't have to bear the cost of a faulty return. It also says that the customer must be refunded within 14 days of the seller receiving the faulty goods back.

I contacted the company and eventually after sending photos of the faulty boots, they conceded and sent me a link to use an electronic deposit box (InPost Locker) for the return.

The tracking showed that they received the faulty boots back on the 12th of November, and I'm still waiting for the refund on the evening of December 2nd!

    Unbelievably awful…

    Boots

    Quality Footwear, it ain't...
Purchased a pair of boots which, when loosening the laces to enable me to get my foot in, the metal eyelet in the hole for the laces popped out and proved to be very poor quality. Followed the instructions on the enclosed return slip and as outlined on their website, sending the boots back via registered post - not cheap. I contacted them via email stating that it was poor that the customer had to foot the cost of the return postage when the product was being returned because it was faulty. I received a reply that stated had I contacted them before returning they would've used their returns service at no cost to me. I requested that they reimburse me for my return postage. They wouldn't, claiming that I should've contacted them first. I advised them that there were no instructions anywhere to contact them first in cases of faulty goods. They told me the instructions were on the returns slip included with the boots... I can assure you there was no such instruction. Neither is there any advice regarding this on their website. The only instruction is the recommendation that the product be returned by registered post. I challenged them on this and since then there has been complete radio silence. They do say you get what you pay for. In this instance my recommendation would be to avoid Redfoot Shoes at all cost!

The ... made-in-India boots that I received also fell apart before I had chance to try them on.
Also, just like with your delivery, there was nothing in my box to help with faulty returns and I had to wait a few days for them to reply to my question about this. They absolutely SHOULD refund you for the postage as there are no instructions anywhere to help. Even their website has nothing to help with faulty returns. The 2015 Consumer Rights are quite clear on this. This business appears to be operating in the realm of scammers…
