I've been using this set pretty much every day — morning coffee on the patio, kids messing about in the evenings, and it's been a real go-to. The look and feel are great and they even sent a free replacement when the firepit table door had a dodgy hinge, and another chair came with a scuff so that was sorted quickly. Fast forward a few years and a cushion tore; bafflingly they won't sell a single cover, just told me to get a local seamstress to make one. That felt daft and a bit lazy. Still, overall I'm pleased — it livens up our garden and makes it cosy.
Half the order and radio silence
Thought I'd be clever and pick 3–5 day delivery. Then a separate logistics firm phoned to say it would be two weeks, which we accepted. Only half the order turned up. The rest? No sign. I tried calling — their number had been taken off the website, so I dug out an old invoice and phoned that, only to find it didn't take calls. I used their website form three times and fired off three emails. Every auto-reply promised contact within 24 hours; it's been four days. It's annoying. The furniture itself is solid and fairly priced, so mixed feelings. Better communication, please.
Nearly gave up, then it won me over
evening telly, weekend laptop work and the odd nap when the kids inevitably claim it. Buying in-store was fine, staff were helpful, but after payment it turned into a nightmare of long waits and vague promises — phoning for a delivery date could mean a two-hour hold and then you’re passed to a call centre in India where communication falls apart. Still, when it arrived and we all used it that first evening, I was quietly relieved and pleased it worked out.
Small victory with a hiccup
Funny start — I only bought the set because my mate kept showing off their garden and I thought, why not. I first saw it at a friend's place and loved the look, did a bit of homework and the 7‑year guarantee sounded reassuring. For months it was great, really — morning coffees felt cosier, neighbours commented, I tipped one of them to get the cushions too. The exact moment I knew I was happy was when, after a wet spring, everything still looked smart and comfy; that little sigh of relief was real. Later, one chair did split at the top of the rattan (annoying), and customer service said the range was discontinued after a takeover — not ideal. Polite on the phone but they couldn’t help, suggested taking it up with my card provider. Overall, I like the set but beware the fine print on warranties.
Nearly a patio saga
I don't usually moan but this was wild. A mate spotted the deal online and nudged me — looked too good to be true, and it nearly was. They turned up with an incomplete garden sofa after promising 3–5 days; the paperwork said two weeks (yes, I checked). We sent it back. Then they re-delivered claiming it was complete — still missing bits. Three weeks of calls later, with ever-more cheerful-sounding staff, they admitted the parts won't be restocked. They offered an alternative which vanished while we took a day to consider. In the end we got a full refund and, oddly, that was the moment I felt properly relieved and a bit grateful — at least it finished cleanly, despite all the faff.
Early-mornings and empty promises
one member of staff genuinely tried to help (a proper effort, bless them), yet the overall process felt muddled and slow. Dates changed, emails stacked up, and then collection happened at a weird time I wasn’t told about. I still haven’t had a clear refund timescale, which is the part that annoys me most — money matters, right? It’s not all hopeless; the people who do try are decent, and the table itself would’ve been fine if the logistics weren’t such a mess. I’ll think twice before ordering again, but at least it works when it arrives.
Bit surprised, mostly happy
I wasn't expecting this to go so smoothly — I read a load of mixed reviews and nearly didn't order, but I needed a chair for my bad back after a move, so went ahead. The ordering process worked but the website was a bit clunky and unclear at times, and I had to double-check some details. A call a few days later arranged delivery day and someone rang the day before with an arrival window; texts kept me in the loop, which was reassuring. The driver, Gurpreet, deserves mention — patient, found the right entrance and carried the heavy box straight to where I wanted it. I haven't unpacked or tested the chair yet, but the packaging looks solid, so fingers crossed. Minor niggles aside, I'm glad I trusted my gut.
A bit of a faff, but worth it in the end
Odd start — I ordered a garden sofa set because spring finally felt real. Payment went through, but I didn’t get any confirmation email, which made me a bit uneasy. A delivery chap rang to arrange a day, then nothing arrived that afternoon so I had to ring them. The delivery firm said they didn’t have the sofa from Moda. I phoned Moda and got vague answers, no follow-up, then phoned again and they said it was in stock and rearranged delivery. Still no written confirmation despite asking several times. It was annoying and I kept chasing them, even got an automated message telling me to email. The sofa did turn up a few days later and it’s comfy and looks great on the patio, so I’m relieved and happy with the product. Just wish the communication had been clearer from the start.
Back for more
really pleased — Moda did well and I’m happy to come back. I’d read some grumbles about customer service so I was a bit wary, but I went to the showroom to check properly. Nia looked after me and honestly she made the whole thing easy. My order was a bit awkward (not your usual off-the-shelf stuff), but she sorted it, placed everything, rang to confirm and kept me in the loop. There were clear updates all the way and my items arrived in about two weeks, which I didn't expect to be that quick. So yes, sceptical at first, then nicely surprised. If you're unsure, pop into the showroom — it helped me, and might help you too. Oh, and the prices seemed fair — not cheap, but reasonable.
Too many false starts
In short, I gave up. I needed the dining set because we’d just moved and my back’s been rubbish after lifting boxes, so assembling it myself was not an option. This was meant to be the third attempt to deliver and fit a replacement table after two arrived damaged. The driver arrived at 8am, announced flatly that building it wasn’t his job and asked — straight-faced — whether I could help him offload it from the van. He then refused to take the old, broken table away. I’ve already taken two days off work and blocked out time on purpose, so that was…annoying. Moda did send a free table cover as a goodwill gesture, which was oddly thoughtful, but it doesn’t replace the set I shelled out nearly £5k for and was promised back in December. Communication is a mess; you get the impression nobody owns the problem. I wanted to support a brand I liked — years ago their service was top notch — but now I’d warn mates to steer clear or at least insist on confirmation from a real person. Still, the cover did make me smile, briefly.
That sixth-year moment
solid, comfy, weathered well, looked smart on the patio. That’s why it stung. I rang them and was told someone would email a quote — I got a price over the phone but wasn’t convinced they’d actually email it, accent and all, not that I mind accents, just it didn’t feel fully understood. Ten days later, nothing. Phoned again, another helpful chap who was clearly trying his best; again English wasn’t his first language but he did persevere. Turns out the company changed hands in 2023 and they weren’t honouring the seven-year guarantee for previous customers. I get the awkward position, but still, a bit miffed and a bit sad. He suggested ordering from the website with a discount code — I used it, which was fine, but after reading recent reviews and with measurements now in my hand, I’m thinking of going elsewhere. Shame, because the product itself was brilliant. If you buy, probably best to go to the showroom, check it over and drive away with it.
Parasol base, more hassle than expected
Sat with my tea thinking 'is this sensible?' before ordering — the 3–5 working days claim already made me wary. After five working days with no dispatch email I opened a support ticket and heard nothing. I was half expecting to be chasing a chargeback, so those initial doubts stuck around. Two hours after I posted a short public complaint someone from the company phoned and said they could deliver the next day — odd that they had to ring, but fine, I thought, at least it moves. The parcel arrived the next day and then the real problems began. The base was scuffed and the allen bolts were rounded, clearly not new. There was no tool included and, bafflingly, the screws turned out to be imperial sizes so my metric allen keys were useless; I spent a long time trying to undo them. After getting them out and reworking a couple of holes the parasol does fit the base, but only after sourcing four extra bolts and washers myself. A job that should have taken ten minutes ended up taking about three hours. So my pre‑purchase worries weren't really eased — the item arrived eventually but in a poor state and with missing parts. If you're thinking of buying, ask them about fittings and tools first, or be prepared to faff.
Pretty to look at, but not what it seemed
attractive at first, but short-lived durability and a worthless guarantee in the end. Ethically I think the new owners should do more if they trade under the old name, but legally they might be able to walk away. If you’re thinking of buying something similar, check actual long-term reviews and don’t rely only on marketing claims. I’d hoped for better, and that call gave a glimmer of decent service — but it didn’t go anywhere.
Nearly put the brakes on, but glad I didn’t
slow replies, "we're looking into it", the lot. I kept chasing because the wedding was only a week away and I didn’t fancy driving two hours last minute.
The bit that made me breathe out was when I finally decided to take control and organise getting the present to her myself — that felt like the only sure option. Oddly, the supplier then stepped up: clearer communication, they arranged a collection for the misplaced parcel and apologised properly. It wasn’t instant nirvana, but their tone shifted from defensive to helpful and that mattered.
The best moment? My friend sent a photo on the morning of the wedding — lamp in situ, and she loved it. That’s when I knew the hassle had been worth it. Would I recommend them? Yes, with a caveat: chase them if you need something urgent, but expect a decent resolution in the end. Bit of a rollercoaster, but happy it finished on a high. Not worth the faff
I wouldn’t use them again. I’m saying that up front because it saves you time. So there I was, stuck in the middle of a bank holiday, sofa squashed into the garage and six dining chairs staring at me like a cruel joke. I’d driven up to Manchester to check the stuff in person — five hours round trip because I wanted something decent — and most of it arrived, apart from the table. Then the saga of switching, credit notes and rearranged pickups kicked off. They swapped the ordered table for a smaller one with a token credit, agreed to collect two chairs, then rang two days before delivery to say the replacement wasn’t actually in stock either. I asked them to take the chairs back; told them I’d rather return everything; ended up storing the sofa in the garage because I had nowhere else. Long story short, they didn’t turn up in the slot they promised; I spent seven hours waiting with no call, no heads-up. I disputed with my card, chased them, and eventually accepted a partial solution — the chairs and a small credit to go and find my own table later. It works, sort of, but it’s messy, uncommunicative and frustrating. If you’re tempted, my two-pence: don’t buy anything you can’t live with for a few months, and always photograph and email confirmations. I did get some credit in the end, so it’s not a total disaster, but honestly, I expected better from the name on the box.
Late night garden saga
double-check stock, expect delays, and keep photos handy. I’d say go in prepared, or maybe look elsewhere.
Moda Furnishings Rattan Garden Dining Set
Moda Furnishings Sub-Standard Product Quality With Worthless 7 Year Guarantee:
We spent a considerable amount of money on a supposedly UV resistant Moda Furnishings rattan style 8 seat table ... chairs in November 2021. Last Summer we noticed a couple of rattan strips had broken, this Summer (2025) there are multiple strips broken on both the table and the Lazy Suzan. My guess is that the glass tabletop proves too much for the rattan in hot weather (when it would be in use). I approached Moda Furnishings in early August only to find that they had gone into administration in July 2023 and that they would not honour the 7 year guarantee.
As they were bought out of liquidation by Giomani Designs Ltd, I then wrote to the Giomani. CEO. I received a phone call the following day to say that they would not honour the guarantee. They reluctantly agreed to put this in writing, but have failed to do so. Whilst I accept that they have no legal responsibility, I believe that they have an ethical and moral duty to honour the guarantee - especially as they are still marketing under the Moda Furnishings name. So, they benefit from the name but shirk the responsibility for, what in our case, turned out to be a sub-standard product. For us their guarantee has proved to be totally worthless.
My advice is to steer well clear of Moda Furnishing products and their parent Giomani Designs Ltd.Delivery of furniture
Onkar Singh and Akash (Tim) from the delivery team gave me a call before they arrived to let me know when they were coming, which I thought was a nice gesture. They were on time, very professional, and polite the entire time they were delivering my items. All in all, I was really impressed with how they took care of everything and how quickly they got the job done.
Table order problem
I ordered a table back on the 11th of May with the delivery set for the 6th of June. The first delivery came right on time, but sadly the table was missing. I got in touch with customer service, and they said they would reorder the table on the 24th of May. However, when the supposed delivery date rolled around, the driver showed up empty-handed. I've been trying to get updates from MODA, but I've been stuck on hold for a whopping 2 hours with no luck. I have to say, I am very disappointed in the service I've received overall.
Sofa purchase
I bought a sofa from this company not long ago, but when it arrived, it had a few defects. I wasn't happy with the state it was in, but I get that these things can happen when things get moved around.
