Laptop
Please AVOID at all cost!
On the 20th of March I have purchased a laptop from ebuyer.com. The total cost was nearly £800, and I added next day delivery. I paid some money upfront and took the rest in instalments with Klarna. I have shopped at this website before and so have my friends, so at that time it was a trusted source.
The first problem was the next day delivery, as for two days the driver kept leaving me the ‘Sorry we missed you’ messages, even though I was at home all day, waiting for the parcel. I complained straight away to the courier company, Yodel, and was told that at the third try the driver will be more careful. On the 24th I received a message that my parcel was delivered and accepted by me, much to my surprise as still no one rang the doorbell. I went downstairs as my building has a reception area and found the parcel there, on the table. I asked the building manager to see the CCTV from that day and saw that the courier entered the building, tried to leave the parcel with a neighbour and when she refused to take it, left it on the table.
When I took the parcel upstairs and opened it, I found a box of washing powder inside, instead of a laptop. From that moment it was constant stress and worry, as I had to contact both Yodel and ebuyer, write numerous complaints, make numerous phone calls, all for ebuyer to eventually say they have investigated and the parcel was packed correctly and they 'don't sell washing powder'...
Ebuyer claims the parcel was not tampered with and delivered correctly, but they do not explain how I ended up paying nearly £800 for a box of washing powder. Yodel also conducted an investigation, allegedly, however they claim that all investigations have now been concluded, and they can’t help.
I looked through reviews online and it looks like there are customers with similar stories, some even received empty boxes. All negative reviews are rather new, and I wish I read them earlier. On the ebuyer website, however, the reviews are very positive. I think they may be blocking people from reviewing on their website, as I’ve got an account with them and when I go to reviews page it is not letting me leave a review. I saw a great clearance deal on a motherboard/processor bundle under B grade stock and snapped it up. Delivery arrives, only the motherboard inside. I raise this with customer services straight off, get asked to take some pics of the packaging and send them in. From this point on I had days of chasing up customers services to only be fobbed off with "they're investigating". Packaging was not damaged, clearly never shipped. Customer services were elusive and kept fobbing me off, getting downright rude when I asked to escalate. "There's no point as the senior team will only agree with me". They have a contact the MD link on their webpage, I emailed my frustrations at the poor customer service, no reply.
Getting frustrated I raised a Paypal dispute, which prompted eBuyer to finally respond properly. They'd mis-listed the item apparently, and it was only for the motherboard. Strange then that a "B grade" motherboard would cost more than their listing for a new item.
Their resolution? A full refund... if I returned the goods at my cost. After demanding endlessly to speak to someone sensible in customer services, I finally spoke to someone who handled it in the way it should have been handled from the off. Admit the mistake, offer to pay for the motherboard to be couriered back and a refund. Though some goodwill gesture might have been nice...
The best part? Because I've raised it via Paypal, they've barred my account, and refuse to answer as to why. Apparently complaining as a customer isn't allowed.
Used to always rate eBuyer, but they're absolutely awful at customer service. Avoid!
Oh, oddly enough I have a quote in for a Wren kitchen, finding out they're owned by the same people as eBuyer you can guess what order won't be placed now.if buy online, buy on ebuyer
Lot of concerns are there while buying something online, lot of problems and issues are there.
THE PRODUCTS ARE ON GREAT RANGE & VARIETY. lot of brands to opt for, there is varied price range as well for the same kind of products.
I have bought like 6-7 items from here. the delivery is in minimum 3 and maxim 5 days . never gone late.
so I believe on them for online buying, even for costly products
