Device purchase for elderly father with dementia
I bought a device for my dad who has dementia, but it turns out Doctor Alert sold him one he already had from a different company. I found out when I saw the direct debit on his account. When I tried to cancel the purchase and get a refund, the salesperson was not very helpful and took a while to sort things out. He said customer service will get in touch, but I'm not holding my breath for a quick fix.
Subscription cancellation issue
My experience with Doctor Alert has been pretty disappointing. Last month, on the 22nd of February, Doctor Alert reached out to my elderly aunt even though she's on the call preference service. They somehow managed to persuade her to sign up for their service, which she didn't really need since she already had something similar. I wasted no time in getting in touch with the company to cancel the order and her card details to stop any more charges. To my surprise, on the 13th of March, I found out that a direct debit of £99 had been set up on her account. I cancelled the direct debit, only to discover another one with a different reference number on the 3rd of April. There has been no communication or delivery of goods, making me believe that this is a scam.
Alert bracelet
Doctor Alert managed to convince my dad to buy a new alert bracelet, even though he already had one from our local council. They made him believe it was better than what he had, which wasn't true. When we asked for a refund, they said no. It's awful that they would exploit older and vulnerable people like that.
Alarm purchase
So, I bought this alarm and it was such a hassle! They took money from my account without my knowledge, which was rude. They claimed I agreed to it, but I have no idea what they're on about! And when I tried to return the alarm, they were evasive about the details. Where's my refund? My nephew had to call multiple times with no luck. It's really not on, I'm not happy about it.
Alert device for elderly relative
This company is an absolute con. We bought an alert device for my elderly relative, but it never arrived. When we tried to get in touch with customer service, all we got was excuses and empty promises. Only when we got the bank on the case did we manage to get my mum's money back from the fraudsters.
