Had two phones from this company, would never buy again. First one was a 12GB deal, wasn’t made clear that this was actually 3GB, with a 9GB add-on.
Second one was a cash back deal, which again was not made clear at time of purchase. Claiming back is a hassle, onus is on the customer to try and remember which months to claim in, then upload a photo of that months bill.

Cashback is a scam!
I am leaving this 1 star review purely because of the Cashback scam that Mobile Phones Direct are running.
You are told you will receive x amount of cashback and that you will receive it in instalments on certain months of your contract.
What you are NOT told, unless you dive into the small print, is that you have to manually go in and fill out a form, involving you uploading that months mobile bill, for those specific months.
If you do not do this, you lose out.
I missed out on my first two instalments as I was simply unaware that I had to claim them manually.
It is also a long process to claim them, as you have to log in to your mobile provider, find the matching bill, download it and then upload it to Mobile Phones direct.
IT all feels like a very well thought out money making scheme on their part, nothing more than scam.
They are relying on people to not read the small print and miss their instalment claims.

Good headline price sucked me in. Unfortunately phone arrived a day late so had a wasted day in anticipation of a delivery. Website crashed on application and I cannot get a decent response to my questions about number transfer and tying up loose ends on my old contract. However the phone looks ok so far.

Phone was fine came quickly but the cashback is a scam I would never have took out the contract If I thought I wldnt get my money back I’ve had every excuse under the sun they have point blank lied to me promising me I would have my money by a certain date but I never receive it just get another excuse and given another date they never let me talk to management they hang up the phone when they don’t want to answer you they ignore emails they don’t do a thing about complaints absolutely disgusting company

Efficient to take your money and send a phone out the next day, but on needing to return the handset and receive a refund they are slow and unhelpful

They took payment twice and despite admitting it, and with many calls/emails to them asking them to sort it out they seem very reluctant to repay me the overpayment. It’s nearly been a month now and there’s still no sign of them paying the money back!
This is an AO company??? The seem to have purchased some dodgy little online phone provider to try and break into the mobile phone market. A bad move that’ll wreck their reputation...S20 5G
I ordered 2 phones with Mobilephonesdirect one of them i didn't have any issues but unfortunately S20 5G device came with a scratch on the rear camera i reported it straight away with an email also attached the photos and clarified that I needed to exchange this phone and need to keep it until they send me a new one as my wife doesnt have any back up phone and working from home actively.
Customer service stated that they would need the phone back before sending another phone, so we asked the lady if they could send us a phone replacement until I got the new phone one so I could send it back.
The lady said she was unable to provide me a courtesy phone, which then we asked instead of sending it back and leaving my wife without a phone would they be able to compensate the damage, the lady said she would have to get back to us, but unfortunately after 15 days of waiting sending emails and ringing about this we finally got in touch with a gentleman today which said they wasn't in a position to offer compensation for the damage, and that it possibly happened during transport and it wasn't their problem.
I stated that this scratch isn't able to be damaged within a box that it came in, so it must of happened at the manufacturing place. So my wife is left with a damage phone that no one is willing to help.iPhone

Avoid buying from here. They sent me a damaged phone for which I am being blamed for. They asked me to send the phone to them to be inspected and have sent it back with further damage....I have the photos as evidence. I have spent hours on the phone to them and they are just not interested. Spend your money elsewhere.

I ordered a 24 month contract with these on network 02 £56 a month. This was way to expensive but with the cash back it worked out at it cutting bill to £40 a month. This doesn't seem to be the deal even though it stated when I took contract out. I have filled an online form out to claim my cash back £384 and traded my old iPhone 7 in which said id get £52. I sent this back a while ago heard nothing and just received an email stating am not entitled to cash back till the 6,9,12,15 and 18th month of the contract.
This is false advertising and a way to rip people off to take out a contract. Would there be any way I could dispute this further.

Ordered a phone 3 days after Christmas that was up at a very good, respectable deal, almost too good to be true. It’s been 1 week and I haven’t heard anything from MPD, via email/text etc, telling me when my order will get to me. I then find out the phone I ordered had been sold out when I had bought it, they had just failed to mention this before I bought the contract, and then when I tried to get through to them about it, the live chat said that it was unavailable, and there was an hour queue when I phoned up. Very frustrating. Poor poor service.
