Handy pause, handled well
Packing up for six months, I remembered my contract was ending and rang Gigaclear. Mel and Kaitlyn were calm, sorted a six-month suspension then set the renewal date, polite, efficient and not faffing about. Had worse run-arounds with other firms, so I'm relieved it went smoothly.
Unexpectedly helpful
I phoned just to check new broadband and expected the usual spiel. Adrian, though, was patient and clear, answered every daft question. I use the line for working from home and kids' streaming, so reliability matters. Was sceptical at first, then properly impressed.
Sorted — fast and friendly
Spoke to Shoaib this morning after ordering; I needed the item fast and it arrived within a day. The phone number is obvious on the site, you don't get bounced around by endless menus, and the person who answered sorted things straightaway. Friendly, efficient delivery and service — made me smile.
Quick fix at a weekend
Oddly, the first thing I noticed was how quiet the house was without internet. We lost our fibre a couple of days ago and, luckily, a tech replied on Saturday. Thomas H turned up, had a quick look (nicked fibre in stony soil) and sorted the reconnection without faff. I tried it that evening — worked straight away. Delivery and service were efficient, ordering was fine, price reasonable.
Wobbly install then surprisingly helpful support
a configuration hiccup meant no internet on day one, then a local fibre strike knocked things out, and there were a couple of days with repeated dropouts. Annoying, yes, and I called a few times. After the January outage things settled and the connection’s been steady since, thankfully. Where they really redeemed themselves was with the team — polite, quick to act, and not the usual corporate runaround. I even had a retention call when a competitor offered cheaper speeds; stuck on hold for a while (about 20 minutes), but the rep, Josh, was straightforward and sorted a price match in minutes after checking with his colleague. Relief more than joy, but that’s honest service — attentive and effective when it mattered. Would recommend, with the caveat about early teething.
Minimum speed plan with Gigaclear
When my 18-month contract with Gigaclear came to an end, I found myself facing another price increase. Even though I was on the basic speed plan, the costs just kept going up. Fibre broadband installation
Having fibre broadband installed was an absolute nightmare from beginning to end. The communication was really bad, they didn't let me know about any planned outages, and the customer service was just awful. I had a chat with Dean today, and he was no help at all, just brushed me off. It's really frustrating trying to get hold of someone on the phone.
