I recently got a chair reupholstered at this company and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. The guy who first checked out the chair really knew his stuff and gave me some great advice. The two men who took the chair away were also really helpful and did a professional job. The end result was even better than I expected, and I'm really pleased with the quality of the work. The women in the office were also really nice and kept me informed throughout the whole process. I'm really impressed with how this company sticks to old-school values and professionalism.
Amazing curtains
When I went to pick up my curtains, everyone was fantastic! They were so efficient and professional. I absolutely adored my curtains and I'm definitely going to return for more things in the future. The staff gave me some excellent advice about the curtain rails I was looking for. They didn't push me into buying anything I didn't fancy. It was a really pleasant shopping experience there.
Bench seating measurements wrong
The staff from this company came round twice to measure up the bench seating I wanted, and would you believe it, they got it wrong both times! They sent me three sketches with their measurements, and all three were wrong. Then to top it off, they kept bothering me about paying the deposit. Just yesterday, they had the cheek to email me threatening to void my estimate if I didn't pay the deposit immediately. What sort of customer service is that? It's no surprise I ended up cancelling my order!
Home furnishing
The whole experience was absolutely brilliant. We bought some home furnishings from there and it was amazing. It was so easy, everyone we talked to was really nice and helpful. Couldn't fault the service in any way.
Sofa cover purchase
Plumbs is absolutely amazing! My family has trusted them for over 20 years to keep our furniture looking fantastic. Their sofa covers and reupholstery work are top quality. The staff is incredibly friendly, efficient, and helpful. Honestly, no other company even comes close to comparing!
New sofa covers
I recently got some new sofa covers and Paul was the one who came to measure everything up. He was really friendly and did a great job. The covers fit perfectly and now my living room looks amazing with them on. I'm absolutely thrilled with how they've turned out!
Sofa covers
The appointments seemed a bit rushed, and I was somewhat disappointed that the creases on the valance didn't come out as promised. But, I have to admit that I'm happy with the sofa covers in general.
Quick delivery
I was really pleased with how quickly my order arrived from this company. I thought I'd have to wait ages, but it actually turned up in just 10 days. It was such a nice surprise to get my stuff so soon, and it was even better than I'd hoped. The service from start to finish was brilliant. Thanks for being so quick and efficient.
Sofa cushion covers purchased
I'm so pleased with the sofa cushion covers I bought. Andrew did a great job measuring and fitting them, and I'm really happy with how they turned out. The quality of the covers is brilliant, and they've made my sofa look even better. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone wanting to give their furniture a refresh.
Armchair covers
The armchair covers we got from that place in Preston were brilliant! They even sent someone over to measure up before we ordered them. It took a bit of time for them to arrive, around 6-8 weeks, but when they did, they fit perfectly! They were a bit expensive but I think they were totally worth it.
Bought some comfy furniture.
They were really great and actually listened to what I wanted. They got the job done super fast and even tidied up everything afterwards, which I thought was pretty cool.
Reupholstery of my furniture in a modern fabric
I was really impressed with my experience at Plumbs. I wasn't sure about using their service at first, thinking it might be a bit old-fashioned, but my advisor made everything so easy and stress-free. I wish they had more small patterned fabrics and neutral linen stripes to choose from, but overall I am very happy with my decision. The end result was exactly what I had in mind and the quality of the work is brilliant.
2 sets of curtains
If I could give PLUMBS zero stars, I would.
I ordered curtains with corded tracks for two windows in the spring of 2023. When delivered the cords were so coarse that, when pulled, they were cutting my hand. So they had to go back and new uncorded tracks were ordered. When delivered one of the tracks was too short so it had to go back. When the new track was delivered it was still too short. Then a “clever” customer advisor, instead of asking for a new track to be supplied, put a raw plug into the wall, and pinned the end of the curtain to the raw plug. That looked awful so I AGAIN complained to PLUMBS Headquarters and again a new track was ordered. When that was fitted the curtains were getting “stuck” in the middle of the track so that had to be sorted. And then, the track on the second window snapped in the middle. I am still waiting for this to be sorted.
And I paid £ 2400 for the two sets of curtains, that is £ 1200 for one window. All I can say is, steer clear of PLUMBS. The customer consultants are freelancers, the track fitters are contractors and the curtains are probably made in China, although I cannot be sure of that. Communications between consultants, Plumbs HQ and track fitters are non effective, left hand does not know what the right is doing and the customer suffers.Sofa covers

Lovely plumbs xRecover electric recliner chair
I thought I would use a national company to ensure a good job was done and I wouldn't end up regretting having my leather electric recliner recovered in fabric. At no time during the initial visit after I had selected the fabric was I told that there would be problems with the nap. The fabric took ages to arrive and then a local upholsterers collected it and took 4 weeks to return it. I was so disappointed as the side panel on the back of the seat was a totally different colour to the rest and really stuck out. It was reluctantly taken away again after I complained with Plumbs saying "it was just the nap" .2 more weeks until it came back with just the same problem. I accept it was the nap but my argument is why didn't someone use a bit of common sense to stop work and tell me this fabric won't work (and then for them to do it again !) Also, if I had realised Plumbs just outsource the work to local upholsterers, I could have saved myself a £1000 if I had employed them directly! Great shame and a very expensive lesson learnt! Not good enough even with the 'goodwill gesture' of a £250 reduction in the cost! Never regretted anything more in my entire life as having used Plumbs and that is even after 2 marriages!
Sofa armchairs Tailored covers
Took 5 weeks instead of the 2-3. Unfortunately really let down. Furniture didn’t look like I expected or was promised, and ill fitting, plus still haven’t got the cushions I ordered or arm covers that was promised as way of compensation which I wasn’t happy with. Unable to get contact with manager.

I took up Plumb's half price for 21 days offer. The fabric chosen was on the half price list. When the home consultant finished measuring he quoted the price as £900.00. I asked him if this was half price and he assured me it was.
After he left I started to think that the full price of £1,798.00 was excessive so I went online and read a review of the same fabric for a similar sized sofa. The reviewer said she paid the full price of £900.00 with no discount.
I contacted Plumb's who were insistent that the price charged to me was half price even though I told them about the online review.
I am happy with the cover but at 77 years old I feel disgracefully ripped off by this company and will never buy from them again.6 Dining chair seats recovered

I am pleased with the covering of my settees, curtains and blinds, although there was a circular mark at the bottom of my curtains which had I noticed within the time specified time to make a claim. Fortunately it's not noticeable. I am now ordering bedroom blinds from Plumbs. Always found the Saleslady to be very helpful and friendly/efficient. I like the fact that the whole process is dealing with a lady. Plenty of colour choice too..
