first rep basically told me pay £40 for a redelivery or tough luck, second was a bit softer but still insisted on the fee. It dragged on, calls, waiting, the usual faff, and I genuinely thought I’d be left scrounging heater covers for the night. The moment I actually felt satisfied was oddly small: the driver swung the hose in, muttered a quick apology and it smelled of diesel and normality again. Not perfect — the charge was annoying and the phone staff could do with more empathy — but seeing the gauge tick up and knowing I could heat the house without moving felt like a proper win. So yeah, service patchy, price meh, but delivery eventually did the job and that, in the end, mattered most.
Tanker drama turned relief
00 that nothing could be done until tomorrow morning. No empathy, no options, just "call back". I phoned again, explained I really needed heating and hot water for the kids and the cat, and finally someone proper escalated it. To my surprise they found a slot and a tanker turned up that evening — not ideal timing, but better than freezing. So yes, it was stressful and their first response was rubbish, but the follow-up made up for it enough that I'm not cancelling everything. Useful for everyday home heating, if slightly flaky. Would use again with reservations and not without a backup plan.
Cold kitchen, long wait
Sitting in a cold kitchen, I remember thinking “this won’t be so bad” — that was the naive bit. We ordered heating oil on 19 February for delivery around 5 March and paid up front. First impression was fine, website was easy and confirmation arrived, so I didn’t worry. Then the date came and went. On 7 March we got a brief email saying the supplier couldn’t deliver, no proper reason, and that was it. I phoned Boiler Juice a few times asking what was going on and when it would arrive — no real answers, just silence or vague promises. We’re both in our 80s and they knew that, which made it worse. By Monday we were nearly out and starting to panic because the forecast was freezing. After more calls and getting the runaround, a text later claimed a standard tanker couldn’t access our place — odd, as the same firm has come before with no problem. Eventually another text said oil would arrive on Thursday — which meant it turned up about 22 days after ordering. Relief when it arrived, and we ended up grateful to a different supplier who stepped in and sorted us out quickly without an extra charge. So, annoyed and sceptical at first, then relieved — but honestly I expected better communication and a proper apology for leaving two elderly customers in the cold.

The website is really easy to use and shows prices and delivery times clearly. Ordering online was a piece of cake, letting you set up an account to keep track of previous deliveries and prices. And to top it off, the delivery guy kindly closed and fastened the garden gate after dropping off the goods.
