Mother's Day gift hamper
Unfortunately, the delivery for the Mother's Day gift hamper I ordered was missed as it was meant to arrive on Mother's Day itself. I live quite far away from my mother, so I really wanted her to feel special on that day. However, the following day I got an email saying the delivery would be happening. Sadly, my mother was fasting that day, so she couldn't enjoy the hamper then. Despite this hiccup, I have to say that the customer service I received was absolutely top-notch. I reached out to them with my concerns and they got back to me within 24 hours. Not only did they refund me for the inconvenience, but they also let my mum keep the hamper. It's not often you come across this level of customer service nowadays, and I am truly thankful for their swift and generous response. The hamper itself was gorgeous, and my mum absolutely adored it. As a small business owner myself, I know the challenges that come with dealing with third-party companies and how it can affect your business's reputation. I really appreciate how Cutter & Squidge handled everything with professionalism and kindness.
Easter Egg and various cakes and gifts
I must admit, I've never been let down by anything I've bought from this place. The Easter egg I got was honestly the best one I've ever tasted. And don't even get me started on their cakes and gifts – they're just stunning and so tasty. The fact that they use natural ingredients really does make a difference in the flavour. Their packaging is top-notch too, which makes it perfect for giving as a gift.
If you're after something special to treat yourself or someone else, look no further. This place is an absolute gem. Oh, and I have to give a shoutout to their delivery service – it was right on time and the ordering process was easy peasy. I recently bought a passion fruit and pistachio cake from this place and let me tell you, I don't get why some people have been leaving negative reviews. I ordered the cake for next day delivery and when it arrived, it was in perfect condition. Not only did it look stunning, but it also tasted absolutely amazing. The sponge was light and fluffy, the buttercream was top-notch, and the passion fruit curd gave it just the right zing. The price was fair for such a high-quality cake. I was really happy with my purchase overall and I would definitely recommend it to others.
Chocolate Hazelnut Cake
I recently ordered a lovely Chocolate Hazelnut Cake from this place and it was a delight! Even though I had to switch the delivery address last minute, they still managed to get it to the new address on time. The cake looked amazing with detailed decorations and it tasted absolutely delicious. I was really impressed with the quality of the cake and how efficient the service was. I recently bought a really big one-tier wedding cake from this bakery as a present for a lovely couple. The bride let me choose it all myself, which was a bit nerve-wracking, but I found this bakery and thought I'd give it a go. I popped into the actual shop on Brewer Street to get some tips first, and the staff there were so helpful in helping me figure it all out. Once we'd talked about what I wanted, I placed my order online and couldn't wait for it to arrive.
Large Easter hamper order
I recently ordered over 300 Easter hampers for our staff, and I have to say, they went down a treat! The goodies inside were so tasty, especially those egg-shaped treats - they were a real hit with everyone. The range of treats and the quality were top-notch, and I've had loads of great feedback from those who received them. I can't recommend these hampers enough for any event - they're sure to impress even the fussiest of eaters.
Coffee and biscuits sent to son in Cornwall
I was really pleased when I found out that this place does more than just cakes. I thought I'd treat my son in Cornwall to some coffee and biscuits, and I have to say, I was really impressed. Victoria Sponge Cake for daughter's 16th birthday
I bought my daughter a Victoria Sponge Cake for her 16th birthday and I was really happy with everything. The cake came on time and was in perfect condition, all nicely packed. It looked stunning and tasted great, nice and moist. The whole family loved it too. I was glad it lived up to my hopes and I will definitely use this service again. Thanks for the lovely cake!
Late Mother's Day Order
I ordered a gift for Mother's Day to surprise my mum, but it never showed up. When I reached out to customer service, they were not very helpful and said there was nothing they could do. I felt frustrated and let down, as I had to quickly find another gift. It's disappointing that my well-intentioned plan ended up falling through.
18th Birthday Cake
I bought an 18th birthday cake for my granddaughter not long ago. Although it looked nice, the taste was a letdown. Even though there were freeze-dried berries on top, they didn't have the usual tanginess. The "Madagascan vanilla buttercream" was bland and didn't taste natural, almost like fake butter. The vanilla sponge was supposed to be moist but turned out dry and flavourless. I was really let down by the cake's quality in general.
Pistachio and raspberry cake
When I ordered the pistachio and raspberry cake, I was really disappointed with the whole experience, to be honest. Firstly, the delivery driver just left the cake on the floor, even though they knew I was on my way to pick it up. The way they didn't seem to care about the cake was a bit worrying, and it didn't get things off to a good start, did it? And when I finally got the cake back home, I was a bit let down by the quality of it. I've had nicer cakes from my local supermarket, so it was really hard to justify spending so much money on this particular cake. The flavours were a bit boring, and the texture was just okay at best. All in all, I wasn't impressed with the product or the service I got from that place.
Cake delivery disaster
My daughter's birthday cake arrived on time, but it was a really hot day and the box was almost on fire when DHL delivered it. When we opened the box, the cake was warm and probably ruined from being in a hot delivery truck for so long. I was really upset because my daughter's special day was ruined all because of the careless handling of the food during delivery. And to make things worse, I couldn't even get hold of customer service to complain. It was just not on, absolutely unacceptable.
Morning delivery order
I ordered some desserts to be delivered in the morning as gifts. But when they arrived, both the cake and brownies had stickers showing they were best before the delivery date. It was really disappointing as I wanted to give them on the same day. I paid extra for the morning delivery, so it was annoying to get items that were out of date. Because of this, I had to throw away both desserts as it wouldn't be right to give expired gifts to someone.
Cream tea set
I got this cream tea set from a family member, but it arrived a bit worse for wear. The things inside were all jumbled up and the little cakes were all squashed and flat, which was a bit of a letdown. I reckon if the package had been marked as fragile, maybe the delivery folks would've been more gentle with it. As the one receiving the gift, I wasn't too chuffed with how it looked when it arrived.
Delicious cakes
The cake was absolutely delicious and was delivered with such care by the amazing customer service team. I've ordered from them about 4 times now, and every time I've received beautifully packaged cakes that taste divine. They really are top-notch!
Office cakes never arrived
I ordered some cakes for my office from this place, but they never showed up. I even paid extra to make sure they would definitely arrive, but still no sign of them. When I got in touch with them, they said there had been a mix-up at the warehouse and said sorry about it. The very next day, guess what? Still no cakes! I checked the delivery tracking and saw that they were actually on their way back to the shop. They did give me a refund eventually, but didn't offer any explanation. It's just not great, especially if you were counting on them for a special event. They tried to pass the blame onto the courier company, but I've never had any problems with other bakeries or DPD. I really wish I had checked out Trustpilot reviews before ordering from them.
Blueberry cheesecake
I recently ordered a blueberry cheesecake from this bakery and was really disappointed. The ordering process went well, and the delivery arrived on time, but the cake itself was a big let down. Normally, I order from another bakery in the same price range, but this time I wanted to try something new from Cutter & Squidge. Unfortunately, the sponge was dense and the cream had no flavour at all, which was a major disappointment, especially as it was for a special birthday celebration. The cake even went mouldy and the cream turned sour within just two days of getting it, which was the last straw. I've never had such poor quality and quick spoilage with any other cake before. Now, I won't be ordering from this bakery again.
