Sorted in the end
Bought from Discount Dragon last month after seeing a deal, and first impression was that the site was easy and checkout quick. Royal Mail put the parcel at the wrong house, which was annoying, but DD's support stepped in—properly quick, polite and sorted things out so I could either get a refund or a replacement. Really pleased it didn’t become a faff; feeling grateful they handled it so well.
Sorted quickly, not flawless
Funny thing — I spotted them in a local Facebook group and tipped my mate. Bought a few bits, delivery was really quick and the courier left it by the door. A couple of drinks were past their date, which was a pain — I messaged customer service and they were really helpful, replied same day and sorted a refund without making a fuss. I'm fairly pleased with how they handled it. Price was decent and ordering was straightforward, so despite that hiccup delivery and service saved it for me. Probably won't buy perishables again, but overall not bad.
Rocky start, happy finish
I'm pleased in the end, though I was sceptical at first. I ordered snacks for a small get-together last week and they were only despatched after a couple of extra days, which annoyed me. One parcel arrived missing six big bags of crisps — baffling. Customer service replied but said the refund needed another team's sign-off and would take about ten days. one delivery long ago had a missing item, and the latest arrived badly packed — heavy things shoved into a flimsy box, bits damaged and one item missing. I took photos and sent them over; customer service replied fairly quickly and offered a voucher for a future order. I've had worse experiences elsewhere where firms ignored you, so it's nice this got resolved. Bit annoying but pleased it's been put right overall, so I’ll probably order again again soon.
Small missing item, big inconvenience
an email reply within a few hours, clear apologies and a promise I wouldn’t be out of pocket, plus a request for photos and the address label. I sent everything straight away. Then the silence. I chased up twice over the following week and got nothing back. Meanwhile I’m £15 down and the missing thing is now out of stock so there’s no way to replace it. I’m relieved the parcel itself arrived, but that doesn’t fix the lack of follow-up. Dry facts: good at dispatch, bad at fixes. I’m annoyed and probably won’t risk them again. A shame, really — not what I expected.
Reluctant praise, handled well
I signed up with David Lloyd back in 1999, so it’s been part of life for ages and I really miss it now I can’t go because of my health. I’d paid a year’s membership up front for me and my wife and, after a previous hassle, I honestly expected a drawn-out fight to sort the money. I was sceptical when I rang, but the General Manager, Vicky, just got on with it — no faff, quick decisions — and used my prepaid balance to extend my wife’s membership to 2027. It felt like a proper relief, odd to say, but it took a chunk of stress away. The club itself still feels familiar and comfortable, which makes being away harder, but the admin was handled professionally and fast, and that counts for a lot.
Finally found a decent online shop
I first saw a little sponsored post on Facebook and thought "here we go, another dodgy deal", but a mate had already been using it and nudged me to try a small order. The moment I knew I was properly happy was when that first parcel turned up — everything with proper UK labels, brands looked right, nicely packed like you'd expect from the supermarket. That made me relax. I then put in a slightly bigger order to use the free postage and, annoyingly, the post office managed to lose that parcel. It was a faff sorting it out with Royal Mail, and that bit was irritating, but Discount Dragon? They were miles better. I filled in their online form and had a reply the same day from someone whose name starts with M — not sure on the exact spelling, but they sorted it, offering refund or credit; I took the credit and it appeared straight away. Since then I've had a couple more deliveries and they're all been spot on, same supermarket feel every time. I've told my sister about them and she'll probably order too. So yeah, a bit of initial scepticism, a hiccup with the post, but the point when the first box arrived properly sealed and everything was as expected — that was the moment I knew I could trust them.
