Office chairs, one damaged
I ordered some chairs and one of them arrived looking really squashed, like it had been dropped from a great height! I got in touch with them about it and they said they'd send a replacement base. But then it turns out that all of the bases were damaged. They offered me some money back, but to be honest, that chair was worth more than that! Now I have to dismantle the chair and pack it up all over again just to get a refund. It's just not fair!
Office chair purchase
I'm so disappointed with the office chair I bought recently. It was a nightmare! The metal pole was rusty and ruined my carpet, the wrong screws were included, and it was packed so badly that it caused dents in the fabric. The quality was really low - I could've got a better one at B&M or Ikea.
Desk chairs
I ordered these desk chairs and they were meant to arrive in 3 days, but 10 days passed and still no chairs! I was really annoyed, so I had to get in touch with customer services. Can you believe what they told me? They said the chairs were discontinued! I mean, seriously? All they could offer me was a refund. Ugh, frustrating! 🥲
Bar stools
I recently bought a set of four bar stools from this company, hoping they'd be black faux leather with black bases - but to my surprise, I got a wrong delivery of three green fabric stools with chrome bases, and an armchair. It's clear they messed up in their checking process. When I let them know about the mistake, they said the stools I actually ordered weren't available, with no apologies for the mix-up. They did offer to pick up the wrong items, but strangely suggested I take apart the metal bits and throw them out myself to save the seats. That would've meant unpacking everything again and going to the recycling centre, which I thought was really unfair and not on at all.
Rusted, damaged chair purchase
I bought a chair from this company and I was really disappointed with it. The chair was rusty, missing parts, and looked cheap once I unboxed it. It seemed like they didn't check the quality before sending it out. Returning it was a real hassle too. They made it hard for me and even wanted me to pay for the courier. It was a bad experience overall, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

I was really nervous about ordering because of the reviews, but I couldn't find a chair like this anywhere else. In the end, I just went for it and ordering was a breeze. The delivery came really quickly, and the chair is spot on! I didn't even have to talk to customer service, so I can't say anything about that.
4 bar stools, wrong screws, no instructions
I got these awesome bar stools, but they sent me the wrong screws and didn't include any instructions on how to put them together. I'm quite disappointed and still waiting for assistance with this issue. I might just shop elsewhere next time.
Office chair purchase
I bought a new office chair that looked good, but it turned out to be badly made and really uncomfortable. Even though it was supposed to be an office chair, it had very little padding and felt like sitting on hard metal. I told them how disappointed I was with the chair, but they said that's just how it was designed and not a problem. I wasn't happy that I would have to pay extra to send it back because it wasn't suitable for its intended use. All in all, my time with that chair was a letdown and a real pain.
Office chair with arms
I bought an office chair with arms from this company and it was a disaster. What I got was nothing like what was shown on their website. To top it off, the chair was faulty - it had arms but they couldn't be fixed on. When I tried to reach customer service for help, they said they only do emails and weren't helpful. On top of that, they wanted to charge me £35.00 just to return it. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I definitely wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
Faux leather desk chair
I bought this really nice chair from the shop, but can you believe it? There were no instructions included! But guess who managed to figure it out? Yep, me! It's just frustrating because I ordered it on Thursday at 4pm and paid extra for next day delivery. But then the delivery guys were like, "Sorry, it'll be Monday, love!" Apparently, there's some secret 3pm cut-off time they didn't bother to mention until later. So annoying. And then Helen from customer service had the nerve to say, "Check the fine print, darling." No refund, no apology. Amazon would never treat me like this. The chair is fine, but their service is terrible.
Wrong item dispatch issue
I had a really bad time with a purchase from this company recently. They ended up sending me the wrong item, and the dispatch note had another person's name and address on it. Even though I got in touch with customer service and organised a collection, I never got the email confirmation they promised. I also tried filling out their complaints form, but never heard back. They never picked up the item, and I'm just feeling really annoyed and let down. I used to trust this company, but now after this mess and seeing other bad reviews, I've totally changed my mind. Warning to other buyers!
Stool purchase that took ages for my refund
I ordered this stool and it was fine, but then I had to return it because it didn't go with my room. It's been a whole week since they received it back and I still haven't received my refund! It's just not fair, all I want is my money back, you get me?
Scanon Office chair
Avoid! Very poor quality products! Laughable customer service!
I wish I had read some of the reviews online before purchasing from Lakeland Furniture. You can ignore the reviews on their website as they are all positive. I of course understand why they wouldn’t include the negative reviews. It seems I am one of many who have experienced similar problems with quality of product and also sending out the wrong products.
I ordered a grey Scanon office chair order number 140048789. When it arrived I found a manufacturing defect where the seams on the chair were not stitched.
I emailed Lakeland Furniture with photos and they asked if I was prepared to keep the chair for a £25 refund. I told them no I wasn’t. If I was to use the chair the split would only get worse. They arranged to send out a replacement chair. Unfortunately the replacement chair they sent was the wrong one. They did say I could keep it instead of the one I ordered but I told them I actually wanted the chair I ordered. At this point there was an offer of a £10 good will gesture plus a new correct chair would be sent out and the previous chair collected. I did receive an email stating ‘Please be advised the refund (goodwill gesture) has been issued and will be in your account within 3-5 working days’. This was a lie as it was never processed.
The replacement chair arrived but had the same defective stitching. Clearly quality control is very poor.
By this time I had lost confidence in the product and asked them to collect and give me a full refund.
They did this but there was no goodwill gesture. When I asked why I was told ‘The gesture of good will is paid back to you from your own money.’ I found that quite funny and certainly won’t lose any sleep over it. If they carry on like this they will however lose plenty of customers.
I would not use Lakeland Furniture again.
