Flight connection delay
I had a really bad experience recently when I missed my connecting flight due to a long delay. The airline put me on a different flight the next day but didn't tell me they changed my seat. They also didn't help cover any costs I had because of the inconvenience. The staff seemed really unorganised and not very well-trained, they were giving me different information. I'm so unhappy with how things went and I won't be flying with that airline again.
Delayed baggage
I'm really let down by the service I got from the airline. My bag hasn't made it to where I'm supposed to be, and even after trying to get in touch with customer service multiple times, I still don't know where it is. It's been five days since I arrived in Colombia, and I'm just here waiting for something to happen. This whole thing has been a massive pain and has left me really annoyed. I'm even thinking about taking legal action against the airline for messing up. Avianca's lack of communication and responsibility is just not on.
Overpriced special seat
Oh my gosh, I just can't believe they don't even realise they're selling special seats, and then you board the plane and see that all the seats are identical. And to think I paid triple the price for it! I'm feeling really irritated at the moment as I try to lodge a complaint, but every time I talk to them they give me a different response. I'm even thinking about getting some legal advice involved, that's how angry I am. It's just so incredibly frustrating!
Flight booking cancellation
My family and I had booked a flight from Medellin to Cancun in February 2022. Sadly, the day before we were set to fly, Avianca went and cancelled our flight, offering us a new schedule that just didn't work for us. When we asked for a refund, they refused and instead gave us a UATP card loaded with the same amount we'd spent. But for the past two years, I've been trying to use this card with no success. Their website keeps asking for a booking code that's no longer valid or flight ticket numbers from the cancelled flight. To make matters worse, their customer service has been incredibly rude and unhelpful. They've ended up keeping our money, even though we didn't do anything wrong - they cancelled our flight and won't refund us!
First-class flight experience
I recently had a flight in first class and it was so disappointing! I was hoping for fancy treatment but it felt more like a budget airline. They didn't even offer me water or coffee - can you believe it? I paid a lot for that ticket! And the food smells on the plane were not great. It was a bit of a letdown overall.
Lost luggage
I lost my luggage at the airport and it took 9 days to find it. The airline won't cover my expenses so I would recommend avoiding this airline in the future!
Flight booking from Pereira to Madrid
My experience with the airline was really disappointing all the way through. The flight to Bogota was delayed, so I ended up missing my connecting flight to Madrid. Even though I paid extra to upgrade to business class, they couldn't guarantee me a seat on the next day's flight because it was fully booked. I had no choice but to fly economy, and even though they said I would get a refund, I never actually received it. On top of that, when I asked for a refund for the upgrade, they didn't do anything about it. They just refunded me a small amount without asking, and then out of the blue, my return flight was cancelled without any warning.

In general, my experience with booking flights online through the airline has been really frustrating. The website is old-fashioned and hard to use, which makes it tough to find the information I'm looking for. I've had problems with checking in, especially when going back to certain places that ask for unnecessary visa requirements. This means I have to check in at the airport, but often all the seats are already taken, so I can't pick where I want to sit. It's a pain and takes up a lot of time, and could be sorted out easily with a better online system.

So, I booked this flight online, yeah? And then when I got to the airport, they were like, "Sorry, we can't help you." I mean, excuse me? I paid £120 to add a bag to my reservation, and then they wouldn't even let me check it in. And on top of that, they were blaming me for being late when it was clearly the bad weather that caused my delay. Like, can't they see the issue here? Plus, the flight ended up being delayed for over an hour because of the same bad weather they blamed for not giving me a refund. It felt like they were playing a joke on me or something! I tried talking to customer service, and all they did was blame me and refused to acknowledge their mistake. It's just a complete scam, to be honest. They seriously need to get their act together before more people end up being conned like I was.

My recent experience booking a flight was really disappointing. I booked with the biggest airline in the country, but the baggage got destroyed, the prices were sky-high, and the customer service was terrible. Even though I paid a lot, the seats didn't even recline – I would have been more comfortable in a plastic chair. I really don't want to fly with this airline again. I'd rate my overall experience at a 1.2 right now. It feels like they couldn't care less about keeping customers happy. I'd suggest going with a different airline if you can. Filing a complaint doesn't make them take responsibility for the problems they cause. And let's not forget the flight delays – they just make life harder for everyone. I missed out on 3 connections because of a delay caused by bad weather, which they should have thought about when they sold me the ticket.
Flight experience
Flight disappointment - I really used to enjoy flying with this airline, but my last trip from Bogota to Los Angeles and back was a total nightmare. The seats were so uncomfortable, hardly any legroom, they didn't even provide free water, and I had to pay extra for a small bag as they didn't allow carry-ons. To make matters worse, they weighed my bag twice, first at check-in and then just before boarding. It was such a terrible experience, I won't be flying with them again.
