Money transfers
I really love using this app to send money, it's super easy and fast! I've been using it for ages and it's always been great. I definitely give them 5 stars because they totally deserve it!
Sending money to family
I've been using this service to send money to my family, but recently it's been a nightmare. They've been having issues with a particular payment method in a specific location, making it really hard for me to send money easily. They better fix this soon or they'll end up losing loads of customers, me included!
Delayed transaction payment
I've used this service a few times and overall it's been pretty good. But there have been a few times when things took longer than expected, which was a bit annoying. For instance, a transaction I made on April 6 ended up taking until April 11 to go through, which was a longer wait than I was hoping for. It was a bit frustrating because usually, this service is pretty quick and reliable. However, I still think they're one of the top choices for sending money abroad.
South Africa to Nigeria transfer
So, I wanted to send money from South Africa to Nigeria, you know? Well, guess what? I clicked the button to make the payment on the 6th of June, and it showed that the money was delivered. But, surprise surprise, the person in Nigeria said they didn't get it! Can you believe that? I had to chat with the WorldRemit people and they asked for the recipient's bank statement. Imagine asking for someone's private stuff just to prove the money wasn't received! So, after a lot of begging, the statement was handed over. And guess what? WorldRemit then admitted there was a problem with their partner in Nigeria. Why did they lie and say the money was received initially? Like, seriously, are they trying to pull a fast one on us? They should just be honest about what's going on instead of causing confusion. Super unprofessional, if you ask me.
App functionality and customer service experience
My experience with the app has been frustrating lately. It keeps freezing, which makes it hard to use and do transactions smoothly. I tried reaching out to customer support through the chat feature, but their replies were also slow. I was hoping to speak to an agent for help, but they just sent me back to the chat, which didn't solve my problems. So, I decided to uninstall the app and switch to a different service that works faster and has better prices. This change has really saved me time that I won't get back.
Payment to Nigeria
I sent some money over to Nigeria on the 19th of May, but it's gone missing. I showed them my proof of deposit and bank statement, but no luck. Dealing with customer service has been a nightmare, I have to keep repeating myself. They won't refund me or give me the credit. Apparently, they've emailed their local partners, but no progress has been made so far.
Money transfer issue
I had a really bad time trying to transfer money through this service. The transfer got stuck, and even though I contacted customer service many times, all they did was make excuses about technical issues with the local partner. Not being able to cancel the transaction or get a refund was so annoying. Not having a clear idea of when it would be sorted out made things even worse. I thought the company would take more responsibility, especially since it's a well-known service. The fact that there was no clear escalation process on their website just made me more frustrated. Luckily, once I left a bad review, the issue was finally sorted out, and the money got to the recipient. While I'm grateful for the quick response after I complained, the whole experience at the start was pretty awful.
International money transfer
I used this service for an international money transfer recently after my family member suggested it. Even though we were told we'd get a referral reward, none of us actually got it. But, apart from that, I thought the service was handy and secure, so I might use it again. When I contacted the customer service team, they got back to me quickly, but they couldn't sort out the missing voucher problem. Overall, I'm a bit let down about the referral reward not coming through, but I'm happy with how easy and secure the service is.
My recent money transfer
I've used the app for a money transfer recently and I found it pretty efficient. I liked how simple the interface was and how easy it was to send money once I was logged in. However, I hit a snag when I tried to log back in after changing my verification method. Even though I followed the instructions given, I couldn't get into my account. It was really frustrating because I needed to send money urgently. I asked for help, but it took a while to get a response and the problem wasn't fixed quickly. So, my overall experience with the service was a bit mixed.
Slow transfer times
I've been using this service for more than ten years now, and I've definitely noticed a change since they switched to only using the app for transactions. The transfer times have really slowed down, from just a few minutes to now taking hours – sometimes even up to three hours. It's been like this for the past four months, and it's starting to get on my nerves. I get that there might be some issues with the transition, but this constant delay is just not on.
Money transfer service
I've been with this company for more than 5 years now, but I've had to take a step back from their services because of some recent bad experiences. They used to be so quick and reliable, but now it feels like it takes ages for them to sort out transactions that they promised would be done in hours. I've been running into problems with the recipient's details, even though I've been using the same info for years. And to make matters worse, there's no way for me to update or cancel the transaction, so my funds end up stuck in limbo for way too long.
Sending money abroad
On 28 August 2023 I sent money through Worldremit... after a few minutes in their site, I could read: The money is read for pickup. However, my money has not been given to the receiving person at least until midnight 03 September. After I long search, I could find their email for such questions, all they send back to me a case number and nothing else, even if I have written to them 4 times. Telephoning to their helpline is useless, I did it twice and been put into hold for over half hour each time. After I wrote a review like this in their partner site: ... and they send an email that would be telephoning me to “discuss” the matter !

They took my money. Confirmed the transaction then cancelled it for reasons that they will not disclose. When questioned I received a standard reply with no advice on how to rectify the situation. DREADFUL customer service.
