That's when things got a bit tricky. Close Brothers Premium Finance were the problem - I had to fill in the 'affordability' section three times, and each time I thought I was done, I'd just get asked to review it again. No confirmation, no receipt, just the same request over and over. It was so frustrating and a bit disappointing to be left hanging like that without any proper communication or follow-up from their end.

    I recently had to renew my car insurance and honestly, it was a bit of a nightmare. The reason they gave for changing my policy was nonsensical and just didn't make any sense. The person I spoke to on the phone seemed a bit unsure of what was going on and I could tell they weren't to blame. When I got the new quote, it was double what I had paid before which was a real shocker. It took a lot of back and forth but we finally managed to come to a reasonable resolution. I just think it's not right that someone like me, at 84 years old, should have to deal with all this unnecessary stress. It was just completely unacceptable and scandalous. The whole thing left a really bad taste in my mouth.

    Oh my gosh, it was such a nightmare trying to cancel my insurance renewal with these people! I sent loads of emails and tried calling them, but no one was willing to help me. They just kept renewing my policy without asking my permission! And the prices are just outrageous - £879 for auto-renewal compared to £173 for the first year. It's like they lure you in with a cheap quote for new customers and then jack up the price. I had to contact my bank to stop them, and now I'm concerned about my credit score. Honestly, I'd advise steering clear of these guys and spreading the word to your friends too!

    Overpriced car insurance

    I was actually shopping around for car insurance and got redirected to this company when my old provider said they wouldn't renew my policy. They gave me a quote that was twice as much as what I found elsewhere, so I passed on it. But then, for about three weeks straight, they kept bombarding me with messages and emails almost every day to remind me to renew, with no way to opt out. It was really annoying and felt like an invasion of my space.
