Worth it — needed a familiar, comforting milk after moving house; was a bit iffy at first with small issues, then it really tasted like childhood, surprisingly good.
Not worth it
Won't order again — they promised to resend and never did. Customer service was slow, I got a refund and I'll try a different supplier.
Doubts proved right
I hesitated before ordering. Thought it might be faff with hidden fees. Sadly that worry was justified. Charges popped up I hadn't agreed. Not the sort of place to build loyalty, frankly.
Took a minute to crack it
the payment button sits far down the page and there's a second authorisation, which meant my first parcel never got sent and the phone agent couldn't properly explain why. Once they'd fixed it delivery was fine, just an annoying start.
Handy but not perfect
Overall, it's handy and mostly reliable. I get milk and a few bits for breakfast, and they really do text back if something's odd. Payment upfront is a bit annoying sometimes, and once delivery was later than usual, but they usually leave it on the doorstep the morning milk comes (which is exactly what I need).
Unexpected bacon and a lonely ice pack
Got a bacon surprise this week — delivered on a day we weren’t expecting, which was odd. The ice pack came too, it said 'please leave out for collection' and then nobody collected it. I phoned customer service; friendly folks, they tried, but couldn’t sort a pick-up quickly. I work in retail, so I can buy bacon myself cheaper and without a frozen brick in a paper bag. Won’t order bacon again, not worth the hassle. We’ll stick with the bottles though — hope they’re back on Saturdays and that empties are actually taken when there’s room on the van. Small things, I guess, teething problems maybe, but a bit irritating while you figure out how it all works. Honestly, fingers crossed.

⚠️ Avoid Modern Milkman – A Deeply Disappointing and Concerning Experience ESPECIALLY (Tamworth / Amington Area)
I strongly advise anyone considering Modern Milkman – especially in the Tamworth / Amington area – to think again. My experience has been appalling from start to finish.
I originally ordered 21 bottles of water. What I received was 20 unidentifiable bottles containing a liquid that I could not confidently say was water – or safe for consumption.
The main issue? None of the bottles had functioning safety seals. The supposed twist tops didn’t break a seal – you had to physically pull them off, and even then, you could push them back on. At no point were these bottles properly sealed or secure. They leaked, and there was no way to verify what the product inside actually was.
When I reported this to Modern Milkman, I was shocked by the dismissiveness of their response. Despite my clear explanation that only 20 bottles arrived, they claimed to have a photo showing 21 – and refused to acknowledge the discrepancy. Regardless of their “evidence,” I did not receive the full order, and yet they treated me as if I were trying to pull a fast one.
It gets worse: they sent a replacement delivery which, incredibly, contained yet another batch of faulty, unsealed bottles. Again, the contents were unclear, the seals were unusable, and the packaging felt more like an experiment than a reputable delivery.
Not only have I now received two batches of unsafe, unusable products, I’ve also been left without a refund for the original undelivered item. And despite cancelling my subscription, they took another payment from my account without permission.
Their customer service is a disgrace:
It took them nearly a month to send any sort of response to my original complaint.
I’ve sent over 20 emails, and received only 4 rude, unhelpful, dismissive replies.
They’ve refused repeatedly to provide any contact details for their CEO, senior management, or HR, despite multiple formal requests.
Their tone is not just unprofessional, but downright obnoxious.
What started as a simple delivery turned into a potentially dangerous, frustrating ordeal. The lack of transparency, accountability, and basic safety in their packaging should raise serious concerns for any consumer.
At this point, I have been forced to escalate this matter to my own legal advisors, as all attempts to reach a reasonable resolution have been ignored or met with further hostility.

This service is such a nightmare to use. The app is all over the place and doesn't tell you clearly what you're ordering or when it's going to arrive. I tried to change my order within the given time, but the app didn't show if the changes actually went through. And on top of that, there's no option to speak to an actual person for assistance. It's so frustrating!
Fresh milk delivery, reduces plastic waste
I've recently started getting fresh milk delivered through this service, and I must say I'm really impressed with how easy and efficient it is. The online system is a breeze to use, and the fact that it's eco-friendly by cutting down on plastic waste is a big plus for me. Even though the milk is a bit pricier than what you'd find in the supermarket, I'm happy to pay more if it means the farmers are getting a fairer deal. The app was a complete nightmare to use. I couldn't log in no matter what I tried, and the reset link never showed up in my inbox which was really frustrating. The milk from this place is much better than anything I've got from the supermarket. I really like their crumpets and croissants too. At first, our delivery kept getting eaten by foxes or cats, but once we started using a cooler box, everything was sorted. In general, having your dairy delivered this way is a lot better.

I tried out the service for a couple of weeks and, unfortunately, I ran into quite a few problems which eventually made me decide to cancel my order. To start off, I was actually charged twice for some items - once when I placed the order and then again in the weekly payment. On top of that, I also paid for a few one-off items that never got delivered to me. The payment issues continued with three separate bills popping up for the same week, each with different amounts. It was all very disorganised and frustrating, and it took a whole load of emails before I finally managed to get a full refund. Hopefully, if the finance department staff get some better training and they sort out the computer system, they can get these problems sorted out in the future.
