About Waterstones

Waterstones is the last remaining chain of specialist bookshops on the main street of London. There are also shops in Liverpool, Leicester and even Amsterdam. Because of the popularity of other ways of reading, like E-Books and the internet, they feel challenged to make their shops as attractive, welcoming and interesting as possible. This challenge also goes for their customer service which, according to them, should be outstanding. They do not believe in one-size-fits all, so all shops are custom made for the building that they are in and the local market that they want to reach. Each Waterstones shop is unique and none of them look the same. Waterstones sells all kinds of books varying from fiction to non-finction, informative books, children’s literature, comics, home and garden books, books for mindfulness, poetry and anthologies and many more. Besides, they also sell stationary, board games, office supplies, notebooks, colouring books, gifts, etc. There is a Waterstones Book Club that selects a couple of books from different genres each week. There you can also vote for the book of the month. That way, they want to advertise lesser known books as well as reading in general. But there is also a Cafe W, where you can read a book and meet friends or catching up on your email, writing or other work using the free Wi-Fi. While you are working, you can enjoy a drink or snack that are supplied by local suppliers and producers. Would you like to order your college books or study books at Waterstones? Waterstones offers a student discount for everyone that has a student ID. You can sign up in the store or via an app that you can get on the website. They work with student rewards, which means that you get 10 points for every £1 that you spend. and each point is worth a penny.
