    Plants in adverts, nowhere in my garden

    I ordered from them in March and at first I was actually quite impressed by the selection, really. That didn’t last. After a couple of weeks there was no call, no meaningful reply to emails — weeks to answer, and the phone number seems dead, I mean really dead. They’re still advertising stock but won’t fulfil orders already paid for. Tried to get a refund, impossible, no communication back. Bit disappointed, I’ll try other garden sellers next time, quicker service.

    Not bad plants, awful support

    three weeks of silent emails, a phone line that just plays "we're closed" and a website that went down mid-complaint. It's frustrating, especially when you just want a quick fix or a reply. I think the ordering system works, delivery was punctual, but customer service is basically non-existent. My tip: take photos on arrival and don't expect a quick reply.

    The spade that saved my week

    Halfway through digging a ridiculous trench for the new beds — back complaining, knees ticking — I realised the missing tool parcel wasn't coming. I phoned my card company as a last resort, half-expecting a lecture, and then, weirdly, within a week a replacement kit turned up. That little moment, unpacking the right spade, I actually laughed. Service was slow and baffling, emails ignored, but in the end I got what I needed. Not perfect, won't forget the stress, but relieved and oddly satisfied. Would I use them again? Maybe, cautiously.

    Half a win, half a shrug

    All in all, pleased enough but a bit miffed. The first tray of antirrhinum seedlings did exactly what I hoped — tall, cheerful and now brightening the kitchen sill — and I loved popping a few stems into small vases at night. The second variety, though, arrived much later and looked like it’d had a rough trip; I reckon their first batch didn’t take and they sent the survivors. They’re flowering but too short and spindly for the cut bouquets I had in mind. A nuisance, and pricey for the hit-and-miss, yet I'm glad half of them pulled through.

    I was standing in the greenhouse, thinking 'oh no' — I’d ordered two dahlias, Obsidian and Kelsey Annie Joy, and after all the potting-on and planting out I realised one was wrong (a very common double pale-yellow sort, not the open peach-yellow I expected). I hesitated to complain — past online nurseries have sent me the wrong plants before — but I emailed with a photo and they sorted a refund pretty quickly. That calmed me down; it wasn’t perfect (I still had to compost one plant and water it for weeks) but the quick reply and refund turned my scepticism into relief. I’d rather they sent the correct cultivar, though; that’d be ideal.

    Garden let-down

    Bit of a weird one — I’ve bought from them before and loved the quirky selection, but this time it was a bit messy. We’d just moved and with a dodgy back I needed low-lift plants to give the garden some colour quickly. Most arrived late, a few were battered and tiny, so they barely flowered. Customer service was slow to respond and didn’t really help straighten things out. Still like their choices, and there was potential, but if delivery and support don’t improve I won’t be ordering again, sadly. It’s a bit of a shame, really.

    Kitchen moment of relief

    I’d been fed up for a while. Plants arrived floppy and a bit sad. Boxes turned up the wrong way despite the arrows. Couriers left parcels where anyone could grab them. It was annoying, really. I use their herbs and a few perennials for cooking and for brightening up the flat, so it matters. Then one morning, three weeks after a replacement had arrived, I noticed the basil by the hob still perky. It smelled of lemon when I tore a leaf for dinner. That was the moment I thought, okay, maybe this can work. There was a bit of back and forth with customer services, not brilliant but they did finally send a replacement. Still, the whole experience wasn’t smooth. Prices feel premium but you do get the odd excellent plant. If they sorted delivery and consistency, I’d be back without hesitation. For now I’ll buy selectively and keep my fingers crossed.

    Sorted in the end, but not coming back

    emails bounced, the support line was shut, and the web form just sent a generic “we’re very busy” reply. The one person I did speak to could only take new orders and kept saying they couldn’t see existing ones, so I kept being sent in circles. In the end my payment company helped get the missing items refunded, so relieved about that — grateful it was resolved — but it was a faff and I wouldn’t recommend them because of the shoddy support.

    Sarah Raven plants

    A customer for over 20 years, quality is now too bad to ever buy from again. Three plants missing though claim to have been delivered, others tiny and ill-looking on arrival. Phones are no longer manned. I emailed three times and posted a letter but still no response.

    I received 5 DEAD and dried out seedlings in the post after 3 changes in the eta. You can’t call and there’s no email contact. I have tried to request a refund via their website 7 times over 3 weeks and I have still not heard a dicky bird from them.
    Over-priced plants, dreadful quality and absolutely non-existing customer service. God knows how this company has the good reputation it has!

    Healthy plants, timely delivery, eco-friendly packaging

    The plants I ordered came quickly and were packaged securely in fully recyclable materials, which was a nice surprise compared to the usual excessive plastic. It was great not to have to fight with layers of packaging just to get to my items. The plants looked really well looked after and were in great condition - showing the nursery workers really know their stuff when it comes to plants. Overall, it was a brilliant experience and I'm grateful for the effort put in to make sure everything was sustainable and top-notch quality.

    Salvia plants purchase

    The Salvia plants I got were just beautiful! They came all nicely packed and arrived really quickly too. Honestly, I've always been happy with the plants I get from this garden supplier. Oh, and the tulip bulbs I ordered online were fantastic - the best I've ever had, honestly! They also gave really useful planting info which was great.

    Cute plants but some were dead

    Yeah, so I ordered some plants which came really small, and some were even dead when they arrived! I was so surprised! But then I got in touch with Customer Service, sent them a photo, and they were really cool about it, saying not to worry because they'd sort it out. They sent me some replacement plants that were big and healthy, and they arrived really quickly, like just 2 days later. I was over the moon! If the first plants had been as good as the replacements, I definitely would have given them 5 stars.

    Rose plants

    I was really impressed by the range of rose plants at this store when I first saw them. However, my excitement didn't last long as both orders I made turned out to be a disaster. The gifts I wanted to get for my friends were delayed multiple times, and then suddenly cancelled without warning. All I got was a partial refund from my card provider, which left me unsure if the items were just reduced or completely cancelled. I contacted customer service twice, but only got a response saying my orders were cancelled with no solution offered. The same thing happened with my next order, so I decided to just delete my account altogether. The customer service at this store is really disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable shopping experience.

    Plants delivered in good condition

    I've always been happy with the plants I get from this company. They're always in good condition and packaged well. But, I've had a few problems with the delivery. Even though I tell them where to leave the parcel, the delivery company tends to ignore my instructions and leaves the plants in awkward spots. This has led to some damage to the plants before, which is a shame. I'm hoping they can sort this out in the future for a smoother delivery process.
