Family car rental for trip to Legoland
We rented a family car to take the kids to Legoland and had a little problem on the way. Luckily, Ben was really helpful and fixed it quickly, even though it was a bit annoying to drive back to the airport to swap cars. We returned the car with no problems at all, and all in all, we had a pretty good experience.
Car rental purchase at Alamo
I reserved my car hire without paying in advance, and I was able to pay when I picked it up at the airport. The whole process was quick and well-organised when I got there, with the staff being really helpful without being too pushy about selling add-ons. When I returned the car, the guy, Tom O'Donnell, was friendly and efficiently made sure everything was sorted so I could return the car quickly and catch my flight on time.
Pre-booked minivans for family trip
Booking two minivans in advance for a family trip turned out to be a total disaster. We got confirmation back in April for a pick-up on May 7th at the Alamo office in London, but when we arrived, we were told there were no vans available. The staff at the counter seemed all over the place, claiming they had been looking for the vans since early morning. After asking to check other locations, we were sent to Gatwick, but things didn't get any better. The lack of coordination and communication between Alamo branches was clear, and we were basically left on our own with no help. The Manager at Gatwick wouldn't even talk to us, so we had to be persistent to get alternative vehicles from Avis, although it cost us a lot more. This whole situation really showed how little customer service and professionalism Alamo has. I definitely wouldn't recommend using them again.
Car rental experience
I had a really bad experience with the car rental company. To start with, they tried to make me pay for a scratch on the wheel that was already there when I picked up the car. I know this because I had recorded a video of the car before I drove off. The staff were so rude and didn't seem to care at all. They wasted over an hour of my time, which I think is totally unacceptable. I definitely wouldn't recommend using this company, especially the Alamo branch on Russel Street in London.
Unpleasant experience at the rental car office
I had a terrible time at the rental car office in London Heathrow. We were left waiting outside with all our luggage for an hour, no chance to even sit down, even though we had a 2-year-old and elderly family members with us. The car we had reserved wasn't there, and we were offered smaller options that wouldn't work for our luggage and child seat. Finally, a bigger car showed up, but they wanted to charge us an extra 3000 GBP for just 10 days on top of what we had already paid. The car was dirty and in bad shape, obviously not cleaned from the last rental. All in all, it was a really awful experience.
Car rental Munich airport
Definitely steer clear of Alamo if you don't want to be ripped off. I hired a car from them at Munich airport and was surprised to be hit with a huge bill for a small scratch on the wheel. The breakdown of costs was only in German, which made it hard for me to figure out and question the charges. It looks like this happens quite a lot, as I saw other bad reviews mentioning the same problem. Be sure to carefully inspect and take photos of every part of the car before you leave the airport to stop ending up in this situation.
Car rental breakdown
The service we received was truly appalling. Our car conked out because of an electrical problem and we were left stranded with no help from the company for hours. Even though we told them what was going on, they didn't lend a hand or show any care, leaving us out in the cold. The customer service was terrible and the lack of support was just unbelievable.
Expensive and misleading pricing
My time at the car rental company was really annoying. The guy working there kept telling me all these scary stories about how much they would charge if the car got scratched - it was way over the top. The extra insurance they tried to sell me was way too pricey, I felt like they were just trying to rip people off. Luckily, I decided to shop around and ended up finding a much cheaper excess insurance deal for my week-long rental on comparison websites. I also read some reviews for another company that seemed way nicer to deal with than this one.

The car rental service I used was really disappointing. Firstly, my car was more than an hour late and they just said there were some problems. When I finally got the car, it was really dirty inside and smelled of old coffee. They did try to clean it after I complained, but the whole thing had already left a bad taste in my mouth.

I recently hired a car from the Dublin airport and it was a great experience. The staff, Chris and Cassie, were really patient and helpful. Chris explained everything about the car when I collected it, making sure I felt confident. When I forgot my reading glasses in the car after returning it, Cassie went out of her way to get them back for me, even though the car was already being cleaned. I was really impressed with the fantastic customer service they provided.
Dangerous car experience
I was really scared when I was in the car because it kept veering to the right, almost as if it had a mind of its own! I had to drive really slowly just to feel safe on the road. I tried to contact the managers but they completely ignored me. I won't be using this company again, it was absolutely shocking!
Car rental booking at Zadar airport
I booked a car rental at Zadar airport on their website, but when I arrived, the terms were completely different from what was in my booking email! The deposit was much higher and they didn't even provide the collision damage waiver as promised. I attempted to reach out to customer support for an explanation, but unfortunately, no luck. The only positive was that the car itself was fine, but I definitely won't be using this company again, especially not in Croatia.
Efficient pick up at airport with excellent service from staff
Our airport pick-up was really good, no problems at all. The car we were supposed to get had a small issue, but the staff sorted us out with a better one for free. Dropping the car off was easy and fast too. This was our second time hiring from this company at Heathrow airport with a membership, and we were happy with the service again. The shuttle drivers were nice and helped us with our bags. All in all, we had a good experience and would suggest this company to others.

I was pretty miffed at the car rental company - when I gave the car back, they slapped me with a £100 charge for a cracked windshield apparently caused during my rental. But I could swear there was no damage when I first took the car. This whole thing has really got me feeling annoyed and unhappy with the service they gave.

Had a nightmare of an experience with a car rental company. Hired a car from the airport, brought it back after being assured all was good, only to get a call later about a tyre problem and slapped with a massive charge out of the blue. Not my first run-in with these guys, let me tell you. Feeling let down and cheesed off. No way I'm going back to them or any of their mates. Keep clear, folks, it's not worth the hassle!

The place where I hired my car from had a sly system that looked like it was set up to squeeze every penny out of customers for even the tiniest scratch or dent on the rental car. Even though I hadn't actually done any serious harm to the vehicle, I was hit with a massive fee that took weeks to sort out. The team there, Cameron and Tom, were really persistent in trying to find any possible damages, which made the whole thing very annoying. It felt like they were targeting me on purpose, rather than trying to offer a hassle-free rental experience.

Even though the people at Alamo said the car was fine, they ended up taking a lot of money from my card without telling me. I was really worried about the way Alamo handled things - they didn't keep me in the loop and didn't explain why they were charging me so much.

My experience with car rental was actually quite nice. Unlike some other rental companies, they didn't try to push me into buying extra insurance, which was a relief. The car was in good shape and they gave me the choice of returning it with a full tank, which was handy. I've had a rough time with another company before, so this was a pleasant surprise. The only drawback was that the office was a bit far from the airport terminal since the North terminal office was shut. Despite that, I'd definitely think about using their services again next time.
Professional car rental service
I visited France from the UK and after some consultation, opted for Alamo car rental service. The car I got was good as new as it had just a bit over 1,500 miles. The process of renting the car was smooth as the staff that attended to us spoke good English. The car was fast and worked well. The only but was that the navigation system of the car was setup in French. However, I was not too disappointed with that considering the country I was renting the car from. I will be renting a car from Alamo again anytime I visit a country where they operate.
