    Knowing the importance of health for myself and my family, I never took health for granted. I am always serious in issues that concern health, from hospital visitation to check ups, doctor's prescription and so on. This is not only for me but for my entire family. Paying absolute attention to health needs still wasn't enough for me and I decide to go for health insurance for the family. Initially, it was difficult settling with health insurance company because fraudulent companies are everywhere online and offline. Finally, I had to settle with Freedom Health Insurance after reading reviews from their customers and track records. Today, my family enjoy a lot of health benefits from the company.

    Been with them 3 years

    I've been with Freedom for about 3 years now and I have to say, they are absolutely fantastic. Other patients often complain about the hassle of dealing with their insurance, but not me! I can easily book a phone appointment with a GP on the same day I call, and I receive my referral letter quickly. The members of the claims team are really friendly and they sound genuinely happy when they pick up the phone, which is quite unusual nowadays. Big shoutout to Shannon, Richard, Holly, and all the other amazing people whose names I can't recall right now!

    Health insurance claim processing

    As a customer trying to deal with a health insurance claim, I must say the experience was quite simple. But, I reckon it would have been way easier if there was a special website just for managing claims. Depending only on emails and web emails to sort things out wasn't exactly the most user-friendly way to go about it. It wasn't as efficient or easy to use as having a proper platform would be. I think having a website for managing claims would really improve the whole customer experience and make the process smoother for everyone.

    Cowboy institution. I made a claim for bad knee pain, I saw the GP and orthopaedic consultant for the 1st time, within a month of the continuous pain. Had an MRI, showed the cause of pain was a ... sticking out. Freedom refused to cover the claim, stating it was pre-existing. They said the knee pain was a pre-existing, as I complained to my GP of knee, wrist, fingers and ankle pain, just under 5 years ago, shortly after pregnancy, where I gained 5.5 stone. It’s a well known fact that women get pain in their joints around pregnancy, due to hormones and weight gain. Freedom would not cover my claim.

    They also claim to cover HCA hospitals in their Elite plan, but then make the process extremely difficult if you try to use them.

    Only have 1 manager who works part-time. Other staff can’t deal with query.

    Cancel procedures the day before, and on the day that they are planned for.

    They will do anything in their power to not pay out for procedures.

    Urgent claim approved in under 20 minutes

    Today really stressed me out when a boring consultant messed things up and made me miss my scans appointment. I had to rush to get an urgent claim approved, so they rewrote the letter and asked the insurance people for help. Surprisingly, Shannon from the insurance team approved my claim in under 20 minutes. I couldn't believe how quick it was!

    I had a really good experience with the health insurance company. The claiming process wasn't too much of a hassle, unlike some other insurance companies, so I was happy about that. They sorted out my documents pretty quickly, in just 2 weeks, and the money was in my account without any delays. The staff were really nice, easy to talk to, and they all spoke English, so it was easy to communicate with them. Overall, I found the company to be flexible and willing to help me out with whatever I needed.

    Great Customer service

    I reckon Freedom is the top choice because their customer service is top-notch. I've tried out insurance from all the major companies, and Freedom definitely comes out on top. The team there are really friendly and they pick up the phone fast. Plus, they make decisions quickly, which is great. So far, I've never had any claims rejected - perhaps because I make sure to only claim when I know I'm covered!

    Surgery coverage denied

    I recently had surgery that two doctors and an ENT specialist recommended. They all agreed it wasn't a pre-existing condition. However, Freedom Health Insurance refused to cover the cost, saying the opposite. Their manager acted like they knew more than the medical professionals. It was a let-down dealing with all the usual tricks from insurance companies.

    My experience with this health insurance company has been a total nightmare. They have denied every single claim I have submitted, forcing me to pay for all my medical expenses myself. It's obvious that all they care about is getting your money, without any intention of actually helping when you are in need. Whenever I try to talk to them about my claims, they use confusing technical terms to avoid helping me. It's really annoying to feel like they are trying to cheat me when they should be taking care of my health.

    Virtual GP appointment disappointment

    I recently had an online GP appointment, and they said they would arrange for me to have a blood test through my GP. Unfortunately, after waiting for weeks, I discovered that I needed to contact the NHS GP myself to schedule an appointment. Then, I had to have a consultation with the GP to determine if I truly needed the blood test. It was such a hassle and felt like a complete waste of time!

    Useless health insurance

    This health insurance company is just terrible! I had such a bad time with them when my son needed to see a specialist and they wouldn't pay for a recommended procedure. It was a complete nightmare from start to finish, from the GP referral to the specialist recommendation, and they refused to cover it because they only looked at the initial GP letter. Can you believe that? It's like they have no concern for their customers! And to make matters worse, it took them a whole week just to give me their decision. How awful! Shame on you!

    Claim denial due to pre-existing condition

    I recently had a bit of a nightmare with my health insurance company when I tried to claim for my dodgy knee. Even though I quickly saw a GP and orthopaedic consultant, had an MRI scan that showed a legit cause for my pain, they still turned down my claim, saying it was a pre-existing problem. They pointed to when I moaned about joint pain all over after putting on weight during pregnancy nearly 5 years back. I felt like this decision was totally unfair and unsupportive, especially after all the medical help I'd had.
