I got insurance with this company for my catering business. I was unsure to start with and the agent on the phone told me if I cancel after my 2 weeks they will charge me £15 cancellation fee only. Today I cancelled my insurance and they charged me nearly £40 even though I have paid all my months of £18 so where has the additional £22 came from. Their staff are incompetent and one tells you one thing and the other tells you another thing. Would not recommend at all

We're very sorry for any miscommunication on our part, it's really important to us that we keep things straightforward and transparent at all times and it's a shame this wasn't the case for you.
To clarify, if you cancel your policy early at any point before it expires, you are subject to a £15 administration fee. You are also charged for any cover you've had up to that point that hasn't already been paid for. The rest is refunded to you. If you cancel within the 14 day cooling off period, you still pay for the cover you've used, but there is no extra administration fee to pay. If this doesn't clear things up and you think you have been overcharged, please do get in touch with us so we can investigate for you.

The company refused citing data protection issues ( which do not in fact apply ) and then refused to obtain a managers input in reasonable time. It is industry standard to provide this information. In fact, the builders insurance is worthless as a bidding tool if it’s validity cannot be checked. The builder may lose my business as a result. If I could offer 0 stars I would. I will be avoiding this company in the future. If they can’t get the basics right, what’s going to happen if ever a claim needed to be made.

Firstly, we apologise for the less than efficient experience you had with us when looking for reassurance around your builder's policy.
We appreciate how important the need for this is, and recognise that our process in this area for third parties such as yourself has not been up to scratch.
We're looking into making this information more easily accessible for non-policy holders without breaching the privacy rights of our customers. One thing you are able to do is enter a Simply Business policy number on our site to confirm if it is live or not. If your builder has given you a copy of their schedule, you can also email it to us for confirmation of it's status. Everything else i.e. what cover is included is detailed on the schedule itself.

We're sorry that you're unhappy with how your cancellation was handled. We don't charge anything to cover the administration of an early cancellation if you do so within your 14 day cooling off period, however you are still charged for the amount of time you have been on cover. We pro-rata your annual charge over the year to work this figure out and the rest is refunded to you. We'd very much like to investigate if you struggled to get a refund owed to you? Money taken for a second year insurance £145,When I called I was advised that it was auto renewal,Said we could cancel but would cost us £33.
Agreed to this and then told it would be 21 days on the 7th of May as of today the 3rd of June despite two emails,A complaint and a telephone call we still do not have our refund.
Do not use this company Customer Service very very poor.
Hi Kevin, thank you for sharing your comments. Firstly, we're sorry that we haven't picked this up sooner, we already actively monitor our customer reviews on three major sites and unfortunately missed these at the time.
Secondly, please accept our apologies for the experience you had in trying to get your refund. It's difficult for us to know exactly what happened without seeing your policy but normally refunds take a maximum of 10 working days. The only time it should take any longer is if we are refunding the money to a different account and need to verify the bank details for security, or if you're a direct debit customer and we are already in the process of deducting a monthly fee from your account in which case it takes us a little longer.
Either way, we're sorry that the service you received wasn't as efficient as it should have been and we appreciate your feedback on the matter.
