Stock photography purchase
As a professional photographer, I've used different stock photo platforms before like Dreamstime and Adobe Stock. Recently, I thought I'd give Alamy a go for editorial images and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. There was a small issue with payment, but overall, Alamy has proven to be a reliable platform for selling stock images. I've managed to sell 8 pictures through Alamy, making a total of $224 in revenue. However, I was a bit surprised when I received a payment of only $38, which seemed quite low given the amount I earned. But I do appreciate that Alamy pays more per picture compared to other platforms, which is definitely a big positive. It's important to remember that, like with any stock photo agency, there isn't much you can do if your images get stolen. But overall, my experience with Alamy has been good and I would recommend it to other photographers.
Wide range of stock photography
I was really impressed with the huge variety of stock photos available on the platform. It was really easy to browse through the different categories and find exactly what I needed. Also, the incredibly quick responses from the staff at Alamy to my emails were outstanding. The professionalism shown by the team was truly impressive.

I recently bought a picture online that was advertised as being really high-quality. However, when I downloaded it, it looked terrible - like it was made with a potato! Honestly, there are better free versions of the same image available online. I was expecting to receive what I paid for, but instead, I received a poor quality image that I wouldn't even use as a screensaver. I attempted to reach out to customer service, but they basically informed me that no refunds would be issued. What a disappointment! I would not recommend using this site again, not even if I was paid to do so!
Paid content
As a customer, I wasn't happy with the experience of buying paid content from this platform. There were no free options available, and I was quickly charged for the content I chose. This lack of openness was disappointing and gave me a bad impression as a customer.
My experience with selling photographs online.
I've been selling my photos online for a few years and have had some ups and downs with different platforms. I managed to make some good money with Adobe Stock and Shutterstock, but Alamy didn't really bring in much at all. They take a larger cut of the profits compared to the other sites. After thinking it over, I've decided it's not worth keeping my account with them, so I'll be deleting it soon.
Sold items not appearing in balance
Why does it take ages for my sold items to appear in my balance? It's really annoying to see my work being used and published without any change in my Dashboard. And to make it worse, when the billing does come through, I have to wait even longer to get my cleared balance. It just doesn't seem fair at all!

It's pretty important for customers to know what the company they're buying from is up to. I've dealt with this company before and noticed that they tried to get around some consumer protection rules by moving out of the local area. When I asked them about it, they just reduced the fee to try and keep me happy. But since then, they've gone quiet and haven't really sorted out the problem properly. This sort of thing doesn't make me feel very sure about their professionalism and ethics.

Hey, so I visited this website to find some cool pics for my school project. At first, everything was fine; the prices were good and the customer service was really friendly. But then things went downhill - they started overcharging me and I couldn't even get in touch with anyone to sort it out. Such a letdown, you know?
High resolution photo
I bought a high-resolution photo from the platform recently. The description said the file size would be 7.1 MB, but when I downloaded it, the best resolution I got was only 378 KB. I was really disappointed and it made me wonder about how accurate the information on the website is. As someone who cares about quality and accuracy, this was a bit of a letdown.
Lazy Quality Control
The Quality Control team are really slacking off, they never bother to review all your photos if you upload too many at once. Plus, when your work sells for £500, you only get paid a tiny 10%! It's totally unfair to artists and photographers. The bosses seriously need to get their act together.
Unauthorized Copyright Claim
I've just had a really annoying experience with this image site that I won't be naming. They got in touch with me unexpectedly, saying I'd breached copyright and asking for money. I couldn't believe it because I knew that the image they were on about wasn't theirs - it had a different provider's logo plastered on it. I tried to talk some sense into them, but it was obvious they weren't interested in hearing me out. It all felt like a scam to be honest, so I'd advise others to be careful.
Unauthorized use of minor child's picture
I'm really upset that Alamy used photos of my child without asking me first. It feels like a breach of our privacy and like they've broken copyright laws. As a parent, I'm shocked by their lack of respect for kids and their families.
Underwhelming photo quality
I recently bought a photo for my hobby from Alamy, but I was really disappointed with the quality. I thought I'd get a high-resolution image, but what I got was not up to scratch and didn't meet my needs. When I asked for a refund because of the poor quality, they just gave me a bunch of excuses and terms and conditions that didn't really help. The photo had a disclaimer about possible imperfections, but actually, the whole image was low quality and way below the promised 300dpi resolution.
