    Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless Headset

    I purchased a Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless headset, which was slightly cheaper here than elsewhere - I was a bit nervous about trying GameByte because there were several bad reviews but there were also many positive ones so I thought I'd give them a go.

    Within an hour of using the headset I used the mute button for a short time, then found it wouldn't unmute. Switching the headset on and off fixed the problem but then a short time later it happened again, and this time switching on and off didn't fix it.

    I tried again the next morning to see if the problem had cleared itself and this time the microphone wouldn't work at all. I contacted GameByte and received an autoresponse - they had a back log and it would be several days before they responded. It was several days later when they replied and they advised that because I had tried the item it was now a used product so they would have to test it to make sure they could replicate the fault before they would give a refund or offer a replacement. I asked for returns details and a label - labels aren't provided and the process is very slow as there is a delay of several days between each email response. I was told I had to pay for the return costs and tracked postage was strongly recommended as they wouldn't be responsible for costs if they didn't receive the returned item. It seemed to me that if I didn't return it by tracked postage they would claim they hadn't received it so I had no choice but to pay for special delivery.

    They did refund the purchase price for the headset but they have totally ignored all requests for a refund of the postage costs, which actually equated to 10% of the purchase price, so the item ended up costing me more than if I'd bought it from a well known supplier. I was offered a choice of a refund or replacement for the headset but if I chose a replacement and that was faulty I'd have to pay to return that too.

    It seems from the reviews that some transactions go smoothly but there are also many bad ones. It's really not worth the risk and hassle buying from here just to save a few pounds.

    Their auto response is still showing that their systems are undergoing maintenance which has caused a delay in response times - works should be completed by 11 April - it's now the end of June. I'm still chasing the return shipping costs but all my emails have been ignored to date. They're happy to send you junk emails every day, though, and it's very difficult to find how to stop them!

    For sake of saving £1 its not worth the risk because when it goes wrong your cant speak to anyone to sort it out.
