Emergency car hire
I needed to hire a car in a hurry and I just have to say, the service I got was top-notch. Emmanuel Koduah at the Battersea branch in London was so friendly and laid-back, which made the whole thing easy and relaxed. He explained everything clearly and even gave me an upgrade on the car there and then. I really appreciate his fantastic service when things were a bit hectic.

Car rental payment issue
Even though we showed proof that we paid for the car seat and insurance excess waiver, we were still charged again when we picked up the car. We showed them our Avis invoice and credit card statement, but the staff didn't believe us. We're now trying to sort out this annoying problem.
Car rental booking with issues
I booked a car as part of a package deal with an airline, but had loads of issues when I got there. I gave them photos and sent loads of emails, but it took ages and a lot of effort before they finally sorted it out. Even after making sure I returned the car with the right amount of fuel, they still tried to charge me extra. The lack of communication and customer service from Avis was really disappointing and frustrating.
Car rental experience
I wish I had listened to the warnings in the reviews before deciding to use this service. The price I was first given turned out to be much lower than what I actually had to pay because of hidden fees. The customer service was terrible, and I was really annoyed when they didn't give me back my deposit as they said they would. Instead of owning up to their mistake, the company blamed other companies and credit card companies, leaving me with less money. I really recommend that other people steer clear of this service.
Rented car, hidden fees
I bought a car from this place and everything seemed fine at the beginning. However, we were surprised by extra charges that we didn't agree to. The customer service was terrible, so I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs.
Overpriced scratch repair
I can't believe how cheeky this company is for charging me €218 for a tiny scratch on the car wheel I hired. The mark was hardly noticeable, and I really don't think I caused it while I had the car. I feel like they've totally ripped me off with their crazy repair fees. It's obvious they're just out to make a quick buck by overcharging for things that don't need fixing.
Premium car rental in Edinburgh
Oh dear, what a nightmare! So, I decided to rent a swanky car in Edinburgh and to say it was the worst experience ever would be an understatement. The car was filthy inside, all sticky and grimy - just not on at all. And would you believe, I splashed out over 400 quid for three days only to end up with a car that had done a whopping 55,000 miles and was covered in scratches and dents? To add insult to injury, the windscreen wash wasn't working, there was a huge hole in the driver's mat, and they'd forgotten to provide trunk coverage - leaving our luggage out in the open. Oh, and let's not forget the electric passenger seat - it was stuck in one position, meaning whoever sat in the back got squished. Honestly, it was a complete disaster, I won't be going back to them again, that's for sure!
Booked rental car for £130
Well, I decided to hire a car for a weekend away with my family. But when we arrived, they told us there had been a mix-up and we had to go for a pricier option. Then, when we gave it back, we noticed a chip in the windscreen and despite having insurance, we still had to fork out half the cost to repair it. It ended up setting us back £1300 for only 4 days. Total rip-off and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone.
Avoid this dodgy rental company
I wouldn't recommend renting from Avis, to be honest. The prices are just not worth it, the management isn't great, and they even tried to rip me off. I'd say steer clear of them if you can!
Car rental service experience
The car rental service was alright, the pick-up and drop-off went smoothly. But when I got back to the UK, I was surprised to see a dodgy cleaning charge on my card. Even though the photos only showed a bit of mess that could be sorted with a quick vacuum, they still slapped me with a hefty fee of $125 for some so-called "excessive sand". I'm really gutted and annoyed about the whole thing.
My car booking nightmare
Oh my goodness, I booked a car rental for my dad online and when he went to collect it, they refused to accept his card even though he had already paid for everything! It was so unfair, he had to rely on buses and taxis for the entire trip.
Overcharged rental fees
The rental company isn't very upfront about their pricing. They quote you one price for the rental, but when you give the car back, they hit you with extra charges, leaving you out of pocket. In our situation, we got stung for fuel even though we'd topped it up before taking the car back. It was so annoying and frustrating to deal with all these hidden costs.
