Convenient and efficient car rental experience
The choice of automatic vehicles near me in London was pretty good, which definitely helped me find the right car more easily. The keyless entry feature made it a breeze to hire a car, almost like doing a self check-in on Airbnb. The whole pick-up and drop-off process was straightforward and I felt reassured by the photos that were provided to confirm that everything went smoothly. The cars were all clean and in great condition, ready to drive. However, there were a few issues with the app, like not being able to see or add extra insurance. The prices weren't exactly cheap, but they were pretty competitive, especially when compared to traditional car rental places.

Paid way too much
It's completely unfair! They make you pay more for the insurance on top of the price they originally show you. You think you're getting a great deal and then suddenly, bam! Unexpected extra costs. It's really not good at all. They should allow the car owner and driver to sort out the insurance on their own. Don't be fooled by their sneaky tricks.

Hey there, Car has been brilliant for renting out my vehicle. It's been really easy to list my car and handle bookings through their app. I feel reassured knowing that the platform offers thorough insurance coverage while my car is being rented. Communicating with renters has been a breeze, and the support team is super helpful and always there to answer any questions. The extra income has definitely been a welcomed bonus.
Stranded multiple times
The cars are alright, but the customer service is total rubbish, you know what I mean? So, I rented this car and the owner goes and cancels it right before I was supposed to pick it up! I had to hassle them for ages to get my refund. They were like "oh, it should have been refunded" but it didn't happen, did it? So frustrating, honestly.
Then, I rented another car which wouldn't connect to my phone, so I couldn't unlock or start it without talking to their support. I had to wait forever for them to respond - I was literally stuck on the side of the road for hours waiting for help! When I returned the car, I asked the guy to wait for a few minutes, but he just left me hanging there for ages again. And you can't even call them after 6pm, only live chat. It's absolutely crazy, isn't it?Great service, but pricey
They're really good, but I'm just wondering why they cost so much. I read on Trustpilot that they offer a 10% discount if you buy something else, but I'm curious about how much they're actually charging. I thought it was already 30%. Also, if both the owner and driver have AA cover, do they get a discount or are they just benefitting twice and making more money?
Car rental
Oh mate, I hired a car from this place and they cheekily parked it by a bus gate to try and squeeze some more cash out of me! And when I asked for help, they didn't even care one bit. Can you believe it? Total joke.

The car hire app is so handy and easy to use, makes it a breeze to rent a car with just a few clicks. But, I did have a bit of a wait both when picking up and dropping off the car, which was a bit annoying, to be honest.
PCN issue with hiyacar
I've been using this platform for five years now, but I've had a really bad experience recently. I got a PCN in 2023 and I did everything I was supposed to do by contacting hiyacar to find out how they would deal with the fine. Even though they told me not to worry and that they would handle it, I never heard from them or the owner again. Now, a year later, I'm dealing with legal action and bailiffs because I never even knew about the fine. The way hiyacar has handled this situation has been so frustrating and disappointing, with no transparency or accountability at all.

Trying to use this car rental app
So, I've just signed up for this car rental app and it's been a whole week of trying to verify my account. It's really frustrating because I really need to book a car for tomorrow, but I can't even do that. The customer service team doesn't seem to know how to help me out, they just keep saying "call the Tech Department" but they never answer. It's so annoying, now I have to look for another place to rent a car from. Hopefully, someday I'll be able to actually use this app to book cars.

Picking up and dropping off the car was a breeze, and you could really see that the owner took good care of it. The insurance cost a bit more than I would have liked, but hey, that's life for you.
Car rental platform experience
I was really let down by my experience using this car rental platform. It was so frustrating and took up so much of my time. The website was really hard to use and I struggled to find my way around and book a car. Plus, I didn't get much communication from them, so I was left feeling clueless about what was going on with my rental.
Disappointing experience with car rental
My recent experience with the car rental company was really disappointing. The customer service was so bad, the chats always ended suddenly without sorting out my issues. When I went to pick up the car, it wouldn't start because the battery was dead. I was left stuck and couldn't even lock the car! It took ages to get through to support and when I finally did, they gave me a different car that made me get another Uber ride. But it didn't fix the problems I had with the first car. The replacement car hadn't been serviced properly and that just made my journey more stressful. They said I'd get a refund and credit, but I never heard back about that after I returned the car. And then I kept getting emails from the company, which just made me more confused and annoyed.

In theory Hiyacar's model of peer to peer car hire is great and I have used the platform several times now, however in practice the are problems. When one car broke down the AA refused to collect it because it didn't have valid tax (expired 3 months prior) or an MOT (expired 8 months prior), this inadvertently voided the insurance and breakdown polices. Despite a failure on their part that could be seen as gross negligence by not conducting regular vehicle checks by the dedicated team already in place (30 second online check using registration details), Hiyacar said they "were not under contract to supply a roadworthy vehicle" and "roadworthiness of their car is the responsibility of the car owner". As a driver of said vehicle, this could have lead to a total of 9 points on my clean licence and over £3500 in fines. Eventually they offered a good will gesture of £120 which I view as a clear reflection of how serious they took the incident and how profit led they are. I will avoid using Hiyacar again and stick to trusted hire companies in the future.
Used 3 times without issue
I've now hired cars through Hiyacar three times and always great. I've found out cheaper than traditional hire car, more convenient locations to collect / return cars and nice how it can be picked up / dropped off 24/7.
