    Travel insurance coverage for multiple trips

    I've been a customer at Columbus Travel Insurance for a good few years now, using their services for all sorts of trips like backpacking, single journeys, and yearly cover. During my time dealing with them, I've never had any problems with submitting claims or getting in touch with their customer service team, even when I was overseas and needed a call back. The staff have always been really polite and helpful, going out of their way to make sure I got the help I needed. I was particularly grateful when they advised me to see a doctor while I was abroad and then sent a nice email to check up on me. By sticking to the policy rules, I never had any nasty surprises while travelling. Most recently, I had to claim for medical costs from Bolivia, which got worse because of an unexpected surgery. Luckily, I got all the money back after showing the right documents. The claiming process was pretty smooth and only took a couple of weeks to finish.

    Annual travel insurance policy

    I've been with this travel insurance company for years now, and this time I went for the annual policy which saved me a lot of money as I had multiple trips planned. Sadly, when I was in Madrid, someone stole my favourite jacket from my hotel room. I reported it to the local authorities straight away and when I got back home, I made a claim with my insurance. The process was a bit tricky, as they needed proof of my trip, a report from the police in Madrid, and proof that I actually bought the jacket.

    Luckily, I always keep my receipts and the jacket was still brand new. In just 3 weeks, they reimbursed me the full amount according to my policy. I have to say, I was really impressed by how efficiently they handled my claim and I would definitely recommend this insurance company to anyone.

    Heart attack insurance coverage

    I recently suffered a huge heart attack while I was on holiday in Brazil. It was pretty scary stuff, I had to have emergency surgery and ended up staying in the hospital for about 20 days. Luckily, my insurance company covered all the costs, they even arranged for my companion to fly back home in business class. It was a massive relief to have such a smooth and friendly service when I was in need.

    I find it kind of funny when I hear people moaning about getting tiny refunds for things like a broken suitcase wheel or a delayed flight. The way I see it, my insurance company, The Columbus, really pulled through for me when it really counted.

    As someone who travels a lot, I've used travel insurance quite a few times to make sure I'm covered and can relax on my trips. Generally, I think the system is easy to use and covers what I need. The prices are good too, so it's a smart way to keep myself safe while I'm away. But there have been times when I've felt like some activities should be included, like off-piste cross-country skiing or certain sailing trips, which were excluded. It can be annoying for travellers who want to be fully protected on their adventures.

    Delayed flight, access to lounges

    When my family was travelling, our flight got delayed by a whopping 4 hours! Can you believe it? Luckily, the insurance company came to the rescue and let us hang out in the lounges for nothing, which was a real bonus. It was super comfy and the rest of our holiday went smoothly. I'd definitely choose to fly with them again, no question about it!

    Annual multi-trip insurance

    Let me share my experience with this insurance company. I've been using their annual multi-trip insurance for years now, and I have to say, it's been quite a ride. There was this one time when my luggage got damaged, and let me tell you, their response time was slower than a tortoise on a hot day. I had to deal with the airline myself in the end, but who knows what would've happened if I had only relied on them. Then there was the time I got injured while travelling, and it seems like they conveniently "never received" some of the extra documents I sent in. Only after I chased them up did I finally get my refund. My advice to them would be to seriously work on improving their claims section - it's as clear as mud whether you need to provide more documents or if there are pending updates (maybe even add a live chat option while they're at it).

    Full Europe travel insurance for Shenghan visa

    I bought travel insurance just for France at first, not realising I actually needed full Europe cover for my Shenghan visa. I was quite annoyed to find out about this mistake, especially since I was already at the airport. However, I have to give credit to Columbus Direct for their quick response and for being able to upgrade my cover to EU over the phone without any hassle. It would have been nice if their website could give buyers a heads up about the right cover for different visa needs.

    I bought travel insurance for a good price, but the true confirmation came when I actually needed it. Luckily, the company's service was amazing. They were there to help me at every stage.     I recently bought travel insurance from this company, hoping to get my policy documents quickly. However, I was really disappointed with their lack of communication and how slow their service was. I bought the insurance on a Saturday and was told I'd get my documents soon after, but even after checking on Sunday and Monday, I heard nothing back. By Tuesday, I had to turn to their website Bot for help. Despite reassurances that my documents had been emailed to me three times, they never arrived. Frustrated, I finally decided to cancel my policy. As soon as I requested the cancellation, I got an email confirming it within a minute. The whole experience just left me confused and unsatisfied with the whole process.

    I was really let down by the customer service I received. Having worked as an overseas representative before, I know how important travel insurance is. But with this company, it was just one frustration after another. The staff were so rude and unhelpful, and it took them ages to sort anything out. They hardly ever replied to my emails promptly, which left me feeling completely stuck and alone.     Sicily flights trauma

    My family and I got caught up in the chaos of rearranged flights from Sicily in July. We assumed our insurance would protect us if we had to end our trip early for an emergency. Unfortunately, we found out the policy only covers cutting short due to personal accident or illness, not unexpected travel changes. I wish they had been clearer about this before we purchased the policy. It's vital for customers to carefully read the policy, but I also think insurers should be more honest about what is and isn't included.

    Travel Insurance Claim Issue

    Well, I had to cancel our family trip because we all came down with the flu. But dealing with the travel company has been a nightmare! We managed to see the doctor on Friday and got a sick note, but couldn't get another appointment on Sunday when we were meant to travel. And now the insurance won't even cover us - it's just so frustrating, we were really unwell! It's just really stressful trying to sort all this out while also looking after my sick son.

    I've had a terrible time dealing with this company while trying to sort out a travel insurance claim. It's been well over 10 months now, and the problem still hasn't been sorted out. Their communication has been pretty poor, with emails only getting generic apologies about busy claim handlers causing delays. It seems like they just don't have enough staff to deal with things properly, which is a shame considering how great my experience was with the medical recovery process.

    Last month, I tried to claim some money but no one has gotten back to me yet, even though they promised to do so within 5 days. I filled out a bunch of forms and spoke to some folks online, but all I received was an automated email telling me to wait another 5 days or use the Chat feature. When I called, they weren't much help either - just told me to keep waiting or try the Chat feature again. I waited on the Chat for a long time but didn't receive any response. It's already May and I still haven't heard from a real person. It's all a bit confusing, isn't it?

    I bought travel insurance from this company recently and I must say, it wasn't a pleasant experience. The process of buying the insurance was fine, it all went smoothly. But when it came to making a claim, things took a turn for the worse. There were delays with my claims and they kept asking for more and more information, it felt like they were deliberately dragging it out. The email communication was slow, taking ages to get a response, and trying to call them was a nightmare with long wait times and promised call-backs that never happened. All in all, I was really disappointed with the whole experience and I wouldn't recommend them for their handling of claims.

    Trip insurance with unlimited excursion coverage

    I've just bought travel insurance for a trip with lots of activities planned. The company went above and beyond by removing the excursion limit and covering the total cancellation amount at no extra cost. Their excellent communication on Twitter and their willingness to clearly outline the policy terms really impressed me. The service I got from Columbus Travel Insurance was outstanding, and I'm really happy with how everything turned out.
