    Almost wrote them off

    Oddly, I ordered after a mate posted the deal; parcel seemed lost by their courier, charged straight away and service slow, but after chasing they refunded, so relieved.

    Work-ready surprise

    Was halfway through a shift when I realised one of the shirts hadn’t shrunk like the others — proper relief. I use them as work shirts, had doubts after no invoice, but that one kept its shape and colour.

    Good quality, poor follow-through

    Opened the parcel and the stuff looked fine, good quality, but they were too big so I sent them back. After two weeks of silence I logged a complaint and eventually they agreed to issue a refund. They promised twice that it would hit my account within five working days, but it hasn’t shown up yet. Pretty disappointing from a well-known name. I’d say keep all your return records and chase them early; I won’t risk ordering again.

    Almost cancelled, glad I didn't

    I was about to cancel my order because past deliveries have been hit-and-miss, and I wasn’t sure this brand would be any different. I buy their knitwear for everyday wear — commute, weekends, layering for work — so it’s important it arrives. When my parcel was delayed I phoned and spoke to Jade Robson. She was calm, actually listened, and offered a sort of make-good I hadn't expected. That settled my doubts straight away. The jumper’s great in daily use and I’m properly pleased with how they handled it. Really appreciated the follow-up call.

    Missed one item

    the buying experience was a mixed bag — ordering worked fine, aftercare didn’t. I ordered four items about three weeks ago and was happy that they answered my pre-purchase email fast, so I went ahead. First impressions were good, fabric and fit were as expected, actually nicer than I thought. Then only three parcels turned up, no email, no option to swap or a small gesture — nothing. Dry, no excuses. That lack of follow-up spoiled it more than the missing item itself, and customer loyalty suffers.

    Return faff rescued by good staff

    I ordered a shirt that looked fine online but didn’t fit when I tried it on for work — a bit annoying as I’d been hoping to wear it this week. The return label from ASOS didn’t scan, so I rang and messaged them a few times, with no proper help, just lots of back-and-forth and waiting. In the end I posted it back myself and ASOS then accused me of using the wrong address, which felt silly because they’d given it to me. Lyle & Scott, however, were straightforward — contacted them directly and they processed the refund quickly. Tracey at customer services was calm and sorted it out, so that saved the day, really.

    A daft mix-up, but decent hoodie in the end

    Right, so this started off a bit irritating. My 13-year-old came home chuffed with a new pullover hoodie he’d bought for himself — he’d tried on an M in the cubicle and it looked fine. He’s lanky but M fits him normally. The store assistant, a young woman with straight blond hair, went to the stockroom and brought out what she said was a fresh one in the same style, still in the original packing. My son paid at the till without a second thought, went home and then we discovered it was actually an XS in the bag. Pretty obvious as soon as he tried it on — the sleeves were tiny, the neck almost cartoonish. So, annoyingly, the item was the wrong size, not because of anything we did but because of a mistake at the shop.

    Blue crew neck sweater

    I recently bought a blue crew neck sweater from this company and it was even better than I had hoped. The quality of the sweater is absolutely outstanding, it feels so soft and comfy, ideal for wearing every day. The size was just right for me and the design is timeless and stylish, I can pair it with anything in my wardrobe. I was really impressed with the craftsmanship, the stitching and finishing are spot on, showing how much care went into making it. I'm really happy with my purchase and I'll definitely be coming back for more items in the future.

    Lightweight jacket purchase

    As someone who has been shopping with you for a while, I was really looking forward to buying a nice lightweight jacket from your company. But I have to say, I was let down by the lack of clear information about whether the jacket was actually in stock or not. It made me feel a bit irritated and unsure about going ahead with the purchase. It would have been much better if there had been more transparency about whether the item was available or not. It would have definitely made my shopping experience smoother and more enjoyable. I just hope that in the future, more effort is put into making sure that customers like me are kept well-informed about the availability of products.

    I usually avoid buying clothes online because of the hassle of returns and possible delays. But I have to say, my experience with this shop has been amazing!     Son's top faulty

    I had a bit of bother with my son's top and got in touch with the customer service lot. They were really helpful and said they'd sort me out with a refund once I sent over some snaps of the dodgy item. Even though we had that blip, we'll definitely be sticking with this company as their service was top-notch.
