Neutering services
I'm really disappointed in PDSA for stopping their neutering services for XL breed dogs. Since then, more XL dogs have been put down and I think PDSA should take responsibility for these deaths that could have been prevented. I care about animals and can't stand by an organisation that doesn't put their welfare first.
Emergency vet visit for 16-year-old cat
I recently had to rush my almost 16-year-old cat to the emergency vet, and let me tell you, it was quite a rollercoaster of emotions. After a stressful late-night trip to Gateshead, I gave them a call the next day to check in. I did have to wait on hold for what felt like ages, but when someone finally picked up, they were extremely friendly, polite, and helpful. Once we got to the vet, everything went smoothly and quickly. The vet we saw was lovely, considerate, and really good with our nervous cat. They did mention that euthanasia might be an option, but they were willing to try some arthritis medication first. All in all, I was really happy with how caring and professional the staff were.
Veterinary services for my dog
I had a bit of a mixed bag with the vet services, to be honest. They were all ready to recommend putting my dog to sleep, saying he was really suffering. But I trusted my gut and took him back home, and he bounced back completely. The fact that they didn't keep me in the loop or follow up on the investigation they said they'd do was a real let-down.
But I have to give credit where it's due - when it came to the basics, they were spot on.
All in all, it was a bit hit and miss. They could definitely work on being a bit more open and keeping me informed.Pet insurance for my young cat
Being a retired social pensioner on Pension Credit, I need budget-friendly options for looking after my pets. I had a terrible time at a place in Bournemouth, so I decided to get pet insurance for my young cat from PDSA. I know it's good to help charities like PDSA, but I was worried because I saw some bad reviews from other pet owners. Still, I had to give it a go because of my money situation. I really hope my time with PDSA turns out better than it did for other people.
Got my puppy checked up
The folks at the PDSA were so friendly and helpful. The vet was lovely with my puppy and gave us some great tips on how to keep him in tip-top shape. The receptionist had a real nice attitude, and the people on the phone were really patient with all my questions. I felt well looked after.
Appointment difficulties
I just don't get why this place has good reviews. It's so hard to book an appointment, and when you try to contact them, they don't even respond. I've had to call many times just to hear back from them, and even then, it's tough to get any confirmation. It feels like they only care if your pet is really ill. Their customer service is basically non-existent, and it just makes you feel annoyed and overlooked.
Physical check-up and telephone consultation
As a pet owner, I really value good communication and proactive care for my furry friend. Unfortunately, my recent experience with the service provided left me feeling really frustrated and disappointed. I know how vital it is to have regular check-ups and phone consultations for my pet, and I'm all for it. But the lack of communication and organisation from the service provider was really let down. I had no idea that my pet's medication orders were being delayed because a phone consultation was needed, and this wasn't arranged or communicated to me beforehand. It caused unnecessary stress and delays for me and my pet. As a responsible pet owner, I need clear and timely communication from healthcare providers to make sure my furry buddy is well looked after. I felt that the level of care and attention wasn't up to scratch in this situation. In the future, I hope the service provider will make communication and proactiveness a priority when scheduling appointments for their clients.
Heartbroken pet owner
Oh my word, you wouldn't believe the dreadful time I had at that place. Honestly, I just wanted some help for my poor, unwell pet and all I received was impolite treatment and judgement from the staff. I understand accidents can happen, but if you're a vet, you should be able to prevent them. And let's not even start discussing the CEO, they really need to face reality! A bit of kindness and understanding is all we're asking for. We're not all after handouts, some of us genuinely contribute when we can. The least they can do is treat us respectfully. Some of those animals have been through so much, they deserve more than what they got at that place.
Treatment for my pet
I took my pet to this place for treatment and it turned out to be a complete waste of time. The top executives are taking money for themselves, leaving the charity with no funds, which results in the animals suffering. I had to spend hours waiting on the phone only to be informed by a pre-recorded message that there was no available assistance. It took them ages to finally return my call, and if I missed it, I had to wait even longer. And what did I get after all that waiting? A brief 5-minute phone call and some soap to try out. They charge for everything, just like regular vets, but they don't actually provide proper care. It's all a bit of a joke, really!
Recent Visit
During my recent visits to that place, I've had a bit of a rough time with one of the staff members. Twice now, I've walked away feeling like I wasn't being treated right and with no respect. There's this person at the front desk, a lady with blonde hair in her middle years, who's not exactly the friendliest or most professional. Even after I mentioned my concerns to the managers, nothing really changed. It's just a shame to come across such unfriendly and unhelpful attitudes when you're just looking for a bit of help.
Eye surgery for my dog
Oh my gosh, my dog had to have eye surgery and I was really worried, but it all went so well! The stitches were really neat and tidy, and my dog looks amazing now. The staff were so helpful and kept me informed throughout the whole process, which was great. Thanks a lot for looking after my pup, he's feeling so much better now!
Donation for animal treatment
I saw this advert asking for donations to help pay for vet treatment for animals whose owners can't afford it. The nerve of expecting folks like me, who work hard, to pay for someone else's pet is just ridiculous. If you can't look after your own pet, maybe you shouldn't have one. It's that straightforward. Asking for money for vet bills is like buying a house you can't afford and then hoping others will cover the mortgage. Pretty silly, right?
Emergency pet care service
The emergency pet care service from this organisation is just terrible. My pet had a painful ear haematoma and was leaking some worrying stuff, but I couldn't get hold of anyone on the phone. It's not right for a publicly funded organisation to ignore urgent calls about the health and wellbeing of animals. The fact that they didn't respond in such a crucial situation is really disappointing and frustrating.
Misdiagnosis and euthanasia of healthy pet
I had a terrible experience at a veterinary clinic recently. They misdiagnosed my healthy 3-year-old pug and ended up euthanizing her without my permission. The vet was so incompetent and unprofessional, it was really shocking. I am heartbroken over losing my beloved pet because of a mistake made by someone who was supposed to take care of her.
Veterinary emergency care for Bulldog
I recently had to rush my Bulldog to the PDSA in Cowplain Portsmouth for urgent veterinary treatment. She was really poorly with symptoms like tiredness, puffy eyes, and unusual discharge. Luckily, we managed to get an appointment on the same day, which was crucial for her condition. The Vet who looked after her was absolutely fantastic - they acted quickly, did scans and diagnosed her with Pyometra. Just an hour after our appointment, she was having emergency surgery and her life was saved. The staff at the facility were not just caring and helpful, but also very professional. I couldn't have hoped for a better outcome - my Bulldog's wound healed super fast and she's now back to her cheerful, playful self. I'm so grateful for the amazing care she got at the PDSA.
Emergency vet visit
I was absolutely shocked and horrified by the way my pet was treated at the PDSA on York Road. My cat had been attacked by a dog and had 2 puncture wounds, and the staff there just wanted to put her down without even trying to treat her first. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion from a surgeon at a different vet, who told me that the wounds weren't actually life-threatening and would heal on their own. If I had listened to the PDSA, my cat would have been put to sleep for no reason. This whole experience has made me lose all trust in their judgement and the way they care for animals.
Customer service experience
I had a great customer service experience recently with a call handler called Lisa. She was really efficient, calm, and helpful. Even though she seemed busy, she listened carefully to my issues and gave me clear guidance and support. Her professionalism and quick response to my needs really helped ease my stress. By the end of the call, I knew who to contact, where to find information, and what to do next. I was really impressed by Lisa's service and felt grateful for her help when we finished the call.
Registration for appointment
I signed up for an appointment, but ran into a lot of problems. It took a whole 3 days before I could even manage to get an appointment! When I eventually managed to have a chat with customer service for some advice, they told me that my pet wasn't in an emergency situation, even though they were clearly in pain and not eating. The whole process of booking an appointment was a complete nightmare – I kept getting told that I wasn't actually registered. Customer service struggled to find me in the system and even after a lot of phone calls, I still wasn't registered. This caused me and my pet a lot of distress and stress. The inconsistency in information and the lack of urgency in dealing with my pet's pain is just not on!
Allergy medication for my cat
The amount of neglect and lack of attention at this place is really worrying. I've had a lot of problems with the clinic, like them being late with giving my cat vital allergy medicine. I've complained officially and kept getting in touch with them for help, but they haven't replied at all. Not getting back to me and not taking care of my pet properly is not okay and it's made my pet suffer needlessly. It's really annoying to have to depend on this service when my pet's health is on the line, only to be faced with chaos and not caring.
Registering a pet
My experience registering my new pet at this place was great! I gave them a ring, and Prez answered the phone right away. She was really helpful and sorted out everything I needed quickly. Prez was so polite and knew her stuff, which made the whole process easy and stress-free.

Vet Services
I'm really disappointed with the service I got from this place. I had to go through all the trouble of signing up online, only to not know if my pets could be seen. I waite... Read onBy: Dale
