I was quoted 8.4k last week but billed 12k this visit — that change in days was eyebrow-raising. On the bright side the receptionist called back quickly and offered a free fix, which was a pleasant surprise.
Quick replies, dodgy delivery
I spotted this brand on a mate’s Instagram and gave it a try. Ordered two bits, they were dispatched next day, but then Royal Mail managed to lose the parcel — classic. I messaged customer service and they replied straight away, sent replacements, and included a short apology note, which was when I knew I was genuinely pleased; proper quick thinking. Only downside was they didn’t send a second tracking number, so the parcel ended up on the back porch for two days. Bit risky, but nothing nicked.
Decent product, dodgy delivery
I first spotted this can on a mate's bathroom shelf and he swore by it, so I ordered a couple online and tipped it to my sister. When the parcel turned up the tins rattled and the lids weren’t secured — you could tell there was no padding. They’d sent the wrong product and there wasn’t an invoice in the box, so when I phoned support they asked for photos and invoice details I didn’t have. The aerosol itself felt light, like someone had used it, though when I tested it it still works for jobs around the house. Not great handling or service, but it does work.
Not worth the faff
ordering was a pain and the staff were a bit brusque, so honestly I won't be using them again. I placed an order on Saturday — nothing on special, just some normal bits — and by Tuesday it still hadn't left the warehouse. I phoned and they basically recited their "up to seven working days" line like a mantra, which felt cold and unhelpful. Fine, rules are rules, but a bit of courtesy wouldn't go amiss. I should've checked reviews first, my bad, lesson learned. Slightly annoyed, more bemused than angry. If anyone's had a decent salon visit with them, please shout — I'm on the lookout for a new hairdresser.
Parcel missing returns slip — ended up a faff
Was halfway through my tea when I opened the parcel and noticed straight away there was no returns slip. I’d actually seen the item on a mate’s Instagram story and thought I’d give it a go, so I ordered. Initially customer services replied quickly and asked for photos — fair enough. But when I explained the items were wrong they sent a rather brusque email insisting they were correct and wanted yet more pictures. I even pointed out the original pics showed the mismatch with the product page, and then… silence. A few days of chasing with nothing back. Bit annoying and I couldn’t return the stuff, so I told my mate not to bother. The unexpected upside? I raised a PayPal dispute and, believe it or not, they refunded me — that’s the moment I actually felt satisfied. So, company needs better follow-up; PayPal saved the day.
A surprisingly good find
I was waiting for a parcel on a drizzly Saturday and ended up doing a bit of a double-take when I opened this one. The thing feels solid in your hands — not flimsy at all — and it’s the sort of product you can tell was thought about. First use was that same evening, a quick test while watching telly, and it just worked. Smooth, comfortable, and actually a pleasure to handle. The packaging had a little squish in one corner, nothing major, and I nearly expected more fuss given a small delay in posting, but once it arrived it was exactly as described. Controls are straightforward. No faff. It warmed up quickly and the materials feel good against skin; not scratchy, and the finish looks like it’ll last. I’m properly glad I ordered it. Customer contact was a bit slow at times, which was annoying, but the end result more than made up for that. Would buy again and would recommend to a friend who wants something that just works.
Nearly gave up, but pleasantly surprised
they called back the same afternoon, apologised properly and told me it was on the van that evening. Honestly, that moment when you realise someone’s actually fixed it — that’s when I relaxed. The parcel arrived in good condition, the products are exactly as described and they work well, so I’m actually chuffed. Would I order again? Yes, but I’d recommend giving customer service a ring sooner rather than later if you don’t see tracking. Little rough around the edges, some communication gaps, but they sorted it and I’m happy I waited. Bit of a nervous start, happy finish.
The day my hair did a disappearing trick (and then, slowly, came back)
utter disbelief. Second reaction: lots of calls, a bit of shouting (me, not polite), and then the bit I didn’t expect — someone picked up and stayed with me until there was a plan.
What convinced me I’d be all right? Not the initial apology, no. It was the afternoon the salon manager sent me a photo of the hairpiece they’d found to match my colour. It was a small thing but seeing that image made me breathe out; it felt like they’d actually tried to fix it, not just put on a plaster. I’d been bracing for the usual corporate shrug, but instead they offered to book a proper specialist and cover a sensible quote — not the token amount they first suggested. That was a surprise. Also, the stylist who did the follow-up sat with me, we had a proper chat about regrowth times, vitamins (I’m still sceptical), and ways to style what was left in the meantime. It didn’t undo the shock, obviously — it was still rough — but that human bit, the persistence from a couple of people there, made the difference.
I’m not going to say it was flawless: the start was awful and I had to push hard, and yes, the compensation took a while to sort. But the moment I realised I was satisfied was when the extension sat in, looked decent on a video call, and the salon actually arranged the longer-term fix at their cost. Small mercy, big relief. If you’re going in, mention the manager by name, bring photos, and be prepared to be firm. It worked out for me, eventually.Nearly there, but not quite
would I get real coaching or just be stuck doing everyone else’s prep? I told myself it’d be fine, that the experience would sort it out. Spoiler: it didn’t, not the way I hoped.
I started using what they said straight away — shadowing stylists, doing client consultations under supervision and trying to get to grips with cutting basics. First impressions were mixed. The salon looked nice, the clients were decent, and there was real salon energy which is motivating. Some senior stylists were friendly and pointed out a few tips, and those moments felt useful. But the steady stream of proper training promised at interview? That mostly didn’t happen. A lot of the time I felt like the assistant on repeat: colour bowls, sweeping, making tea, prepping — useful work, yeah, but not the structured learning path I expected. Feedback was rare, and when it did come it was tiny and not really helpful for improvement.
I wrestled with my doubts for months. Sometimes I convinced myself I was being impatient; other times it felt obvious they weren’t investing in my development. After two and a half years of showing up and trying to learn on the job, I left because I wasn’t progressing in the way they’d sold me. It stung. Then, just a couple of months later, the salon shut — closed because of money trouble, apparently. That felt like confirmation of my suspicions: they’d been keeping quiet about the future. I still think they knew earlier, which makes the silence harder to swallow. I reached out to the head office back in the UK to explain what happened and to ask for some acknowledgment — nothing. No reply, nada. That silence said a lot.
So, bottom line: there are decent bits — real clients, busy salon, a few helpful people — but overall the training structure and follow-through was lacking, and that’s what I went for. If you’re thinking of signing up, ask the awkward questions up front, push for specifics, and don’t rely on glossy promises. I’m disappointed, but I did learn things and I’m moving on, just wish it had been more honest and practical.Online order experience
I ordered some stuff online not long ago, thinking it would turn up quickly as it was meant to be next day delivery for orders over a certain amount. But it's been more than 10 days now, and still no sign of my things. The website made it clear about their delivery policy, so you can imagine my disappointment when it wasn't met in my case. When I got in touch with customer service for help, they said they would call me back, but that call never came. The lack of communication and not keeping their promises has really got me feeling frustrated and let down by the service.
Free gift missing parts
So, I bought something and received a free gift - a room diffuser. I thought it sounded cool. But guess what? The top for the diffuser was missing! After lots of emails, they eventually admitted it was missing. They said they couldn't send a replacement because they've run out of stock. Honestly, what's the point of giving a gift you can't even use?
Keratase hair products order
I'm really disappointed with my order from this hair salon. I bought two Kerastase hair products and got a confirmation on the 31st of January. But, it's now the 7th of February and I still haven't heard anything about when my order will arrive. I checked their website for help, but couldn't find anything useful. They suggested I track the delivery through the couriers, but I haven't been given any tracking details.
Quick delivery
Oh my gosh, I was really scared to place an order, but it arrived so fast! I saw some reviews that were pretty scary, but my order arrived in just 3 days!! Honestly, everything went smoothly. I placed my order on the 1st of January and it arrived on the 4th of January, can you believe it? I'm over the moon right now!
Slow delivery, lack of communication
I can't believe how inefficient my recent order was. The delivery took so long, and I had to keep chasing them for tracking details. The lack of communication and customer care is really disappointing. I won't be using their services again.
Hair colour and styling service
I popped into this salon for a hair colour and styling, and I have to say, I was really chuffed with the whole experience. The staff were all so lovely and really made me feel welcome right from the start. The salon itself had a great vibe, which made my visit super relaxing and enjoyable. They did my hair just how I wanted it - the colour and style were spot on. I left feeling really happy and confident with the end result. All in all, I had a top-notch professional service and I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone after some great hair treatments.
Late shipment
I am truly appalled by the poor service I have received from this place. I placed my order 8 days ago, and they still haven't even bothered to send it out. To top it off, they have completely ignored me and stopped responding to my emails. It seems like they have no regard for their customers or fulfilling orders. To be honest, I feel like I've been ripped off after this whole experience.
Hair straighteners return
I wouldn't recommend purchasing from them. Their customer service is really slow to respond and makes it difficult for you to return items. On top of that, you're the one stuck paying for postage. I'm currently dealing with trying to return some hair straighteners that didn't work as well as I'd hoped, and they're telling me to contact the manufacturer directly even though it's only been two weeks. They don't even have a contact number to call, I had to talk to a different person who was polite but couldn't assist me in the slightest. It's been a bit of a nightmare, to be honest!
Haircuts in London and outside London
I've visited a few Toni & Guy salons in London and other places, and every time has been absolutely fantastic. The prices might be a bit steep for some, but really, you get what you pay for! The service is excellent, the employees are talented experts who know all the newest styles and methods. When I walk out of the salon, I feel absolutely fabulous because of the trendy and chic haircut I get. Sure, it might cost a bit more than other salons, but believe me, the quality and longevity of the haircut make it totally worth it.
Haircut and highlights
I went to the salon the other day to get my hair cut and some highlights done. The stylist really paid attention to what I wanted and gave me some good advice on what would suit my hair type best. The haircut turned out exactly how I wanted it, really precise. And the highlights were amazing, they blended in so nicely and gave my hair a natural look. I was really impressed with how skilled and professional the staff were.
Moroccanoil purchase
I bought some Moroccanoil from this website because it was cheaper than other places. At first, I was a bit unsure because I'd seen some bad reviews about their service and delivery, but I thought I'd take a chance. To my surprise, the product arrived quickly after I ordered and was well packaged. I was really impressed with how fast and reliable the delivery was. It turned out to be a better experience than I expected.
