Elusive watch purchase
I'd been searching high and low for a specific watch that just didn't want to be found. After checking out loads of jewellers, I ended up getting in touch with someone at a particular shop, but we'll keep names out of it. This person, let's call him Frank, was a real expert when it came to watches. He managed to find the exact one I was after and sorted out the whole buying process easily. From placing the order to making the payment and receiving the watch, everything went smoothly and quickly. The watch turned up right on time within a one-hour delivery slot, all thanks to a delivery company that sounds like DPD.
Used Tudor watch
On the 10th of May 2024, I popped into the York branch and met Eleanor Audet, who works as a Sales Executive there. She was really helpful in guiding me towards buying a used Tudor watch. Eleanor's approach was professional and polite, without any pushy sales tactics, which made the whole thing quite enjoyable. She knew a lot about watches and the stories behind different brands, which really gave me the confidence to go ahead and buy the watch from your store. So far, I'm pleased with my Tudor watch and would definitely recommend Mappin & Webb to anyone on the lookout for a top-quality timepiece.
High-end jewellery
I recently bought a fancy piece of jewellery from this shop and I was really happy with how fast they processed my order. The item came in lovely packaging, showing that they really paid attention to detail. The only thing I wasn't too happy about was the delivery. Even though DPD delivered the package, they didn't ask for a signature and didn't take a photo to prove it was delivered to the right place. I know this isn't the retailer's fault directly, but I think for a company selling high-end stuff, making sure the delivery is secure and accurate should be a top priority.
FOPE jewellery purchase
I popped into this jewellery shop in York and the two folks working there, Xavier and Tara, were absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful! They assisted me in choosing out some gorgeous FOPE jewellery and really made the whole process enjoyable. Xavier was quite knowledgeable about the brand, and Tara was just so warm and welcoming. We ended up going to the shop three times, and each visit they were just as fantastic. I'm really looking forward to returning (especially if my mum decides she wants to get something to match me)!
Gold earrings purchase
I bought a lovely pair of gold earrings from this shop recently and I have to say, I am really happy with how it all went. The earrings were just like they were described, and I loved the care that went into packaging them up nicely. The delivery did take a bit longer than I thought, but they kept me in the loop the whole time and let me know where my order was at. I didn't really mind waiting as I wasn't desperate to get them straight away. All in all, I'm pleased with both the earrings and the service I received.

I had such a great time choosing our wedding rings! Youssef and his team were really friendly and helpful. They even gave us some bubbles to celebrate with, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable!

I popped into a jewellery shop in the Fenchurch St area to pick up a diamond necklace recently, and I have to say, the service I got was top-notch. As soon as I walked in, the staff were really helpful and friendly. Sam, in particular, went out of his way to make me feel welcome and important. Not only did he help me find the ideal necklace, but he also gave me some great advice and info about the product. The whole shopping trip was smooth and pleasant, all thanks to the knowledgeable and helpful staff.

The staff were really nice and polite, but I found their explanation of the product a bit lacking. I had to ask multiple times to get some things clarified, and even then, I still felt a bit confused. Overall, I was quite disappointed and it just didn't meet the high expectations I had for a luxury brand.

I just got my watch fixed at a jeweller in Tunbridge Wells, and I'm really not happy with how it turned out. I shelled out a whopping £300 for the service, but now, just 2 years later, it's stopped working. The recommended interval for servicing is 3-5 years, so I'm pretty disappointed. When I brought this up with the jeweller, they basically said tough luck - they only offer a one-year guarantee and don't even do the servicing themselves. I think that's really poor customer service and they should take more responsibility.
