    I fancied getting some books, so I thought I'd order them online. But they were asking for an extra charge if I wanted to collect them in-store. Can you believe it? There's a different shop that does free next-day delivery. Why would I shell out more money just to go and pick them up myself? It wound me up so much that I didn't bother going to the store at all in the end! And to top it off, when I did eventually go, they didn't even have the books I was after!

    I'm really not happy with the service I got from the store. I had to ring them three times just to get my delivery at the local store. And even after all that, I didn't even get an email letting me know my order was ready. The reasons they gave me were just not good enough, and it felt like they didn't understand that I had a deal with them, not the delivery company. They kept telling me they were doing everything they could to get my order to me, but it was clear they weren't really putting in the effort.

    I had an awful time working at this place. I spent six years of my life working for this company, starting as a sales assistant and working my way up to store manager. I really tried hard to make the store better and create a good working environment for my team. But when a member of my staff stole money from the safe and made a mess in the staff areas, damaging my personal stuff, I got all the blame. The company had no security measures and wouldn't put any in place, so I felt violated and helpless. They unfairly sacked me and accused me of the theft, leaving me in debt and struggling to find another job because they said I was a thief with no proof. This whole experience has given me anxiety, depression, PTSD, and even thoughts of suicide. The big bosses at this company are just bullies, and the way they treat their staff is horrible. I really warn everyone to steer clear of this company, whether you're working there or shopping there. Please tell others about the bad things that happen at this place.

    I bought some craft supplies online recently, but it didn't go well. I placed my order and then waited for two weeks, only to get a message saying my stuff got lost in the mail. The company they used for emails didn't take any responsibility, which made it even more annoying. And on top of that, they chose the dodgiest and cheapest courier around, making me doubt if I'd ever get my items. Honestly, I'd tell anyone thinking of buying from them to steer well clear.

    Christmas presents for grandson

    I ordered Christmas presents for my grandson from a store back in November, but then found out there were technical problems when they tried to send my order to the warehouse. I waited for ages without getting my order, so eventually I got in touch with them to ask what was going on. They then told me about the technical issue that had happened. It was so annoying because I'd made sure to order the gifts early so they'd get here in time for Christmas. I was really let down by the poor communication and lack of transparency about the problem.

    I recently bought some really awesome books online for €52, but it's been a real letdown as they haven't arrived on time! I reached out to the sellers and they mentioned that the books have arrived in the country, but I still haven't received them.     Genuine conversation and professional service

    I recently visited this place and received amazing customer service. There was a lovely staff member named Jav who was so friendly and knowledgeable. She really made an effort to make sure I was happy and we had a great chat. Her professionalism and dedication were really impressive. People like Jav are so important in customer service, and her positive attitude and smile made my visit even better. Providing such great service, especially in busy Central London, is not easy, so I really recommend this place to anyone looking for top-quality service. It's located in Walthamstow Central, so you can expect a great experience.

    Poppys Playtime blind bags on sale

    I recently bought two Poppys Playtime blind bags on sale from this company. I was really happy to see them at such a good price, just £1 each, reduced from £5. But then, a few days later, I got an email saying my order had been refunded because apparently the items were out of stock. I thought it was a bit dodgy because they were still showing as in stock on their website, but now back to £5. It looks like they didn't want to stick to the sale price I got them for in the first place.

    Scottish money refusal

    Today when I went to the shop, they wouldn't take my son's Scottish money, which felt really unfair. We were trying to purchase £17 worth of items, but they said no. The ladies working there were quite rude and did not want to listen to me. I tried to explain that Scottish money is still valid currency, but they just ignored me and kept refusing. Why couldn't they just verify if it was genuine instead of acting so unkindly? Eventually, we had to pay with a card, but the whole ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I'll be returning to that shop anytime soon.

    Christmas Order Fiasco

    I recently ordered six items for an early Christmas treat, and they were all marked as available. But then, after I paid up, I had to wait a whole 7 days before they even sent the items out. And can you believe it? I got an email from Evri saying there was an issue with my delivery. I tried to get in touch with The Works customer service loads of times, but I didn't get any reply. Now, to make things worse, my order is apparently 'processing refund'. But what I really want is my order! It's so annoying to see that half of the things I wanted are out of stock, so I can't even reorder them.

    Fan for hot weather

    I bought a fan from this company because it's been so hot in the UK recently. I paid extra for next day delivery, but was annoyed when I saw that my parcel was marked for a refund without me asking for it. I tried to contact customer service, but no one seemed to be available to help me. The customer service I experienced was terrible and has made me feel really annoyed and disappointed.

    I decided to pop into The Works to pick up some art supplies for this school project I'm working on, and man, I was so pumped! But then, when I went to order them online, it was a complete disaster. Seriously, their online ordering system is absolutely dreadful. I accidentally put the wrong colour paint in my basket and tried to change it straight away, but nope, there was no option for that. I couldn't even cancel my order, even though it hadn't been shipped out yet. Not cool at all, mate.

    Donation support for Kids Yorkshire charity

    I was really impressed by what the store manager did to organise a Christmas appeal for Kids Yorkshire. Having a donation box in the store meant customers and staff could help out families in need. The community's generosity and kindness were so touching, helping out more than 70 kids and young people in Hull. The branch staff went above and beyond to support this cause, and their hard work is definitely worth praising. Big thanks to everyone who pitched in with their generosity and support.

    Tarot cards display near children's toys

    I went to the shop the other day and saw that they were selling tarot cards right next to the children's toys, which was a bit surprising. The display was right by the checkout, so it was hard to miss for any kids passing by. Another customer and I thought it was a bit inappropriate for young minds, so we got in touch with head office to ask them to take the tarot cards off the shelves. Sadly, we haven't heard back from them and now the cards have just been moved to the lower shelf of the same display. It's worrying to see things like this being aimed at children and promoting new age beliefs.

    I popped into your store in Leigh WN7 the other day and just wanted to give a shout out to the staff for being so lovely. It was boiling hot in there, but the two ladies who helped me were just so friendly, kind, and helpful. They really went out of their way to help me track down the book I was after and their customer service was top-notch. They knew everything about what was in stock and could answer all my questions without any hassle. I was seriously impressed by how professional and willing they were to assist me, even though they must have been sweltering.

    Disney Frozen Giant Colour Me Pad

    Placed an order on their website for home delivery. The first thing that went wrong was after placing my order and receiving an email order confirmation, I received another email to inform me that one of the items I had ordered was no longer in stock. If this item was no longer available, why was it still in stock when I placed my order? Secondly, they short changed me on my refund for this item. Thirdly, after sending several emails over numerous months requesting for them to send the money they owed me, no reply whatsoever. I then had to go to the trouble of phoning their customer service line. For the poor service I had received, I asked for a manager to get in contact with myself to offer a good will gesture for all of my troubles. The operator informed me that someone would be in contact. Do you think anyone bothered to reach out to me? Surprise, surprise, they did not. I, therefore, once again had to contact them, this time via Instagram and after having to ask countless times, someone did call but guess what during work hours. I then used my lunch break to call back and you've guessed it no manager was around to speak to me. By this point I was very annoyed and frustrated at the extremely poor, abysmal and pretty much non-existent customer service. A manager did eventually email and offered a good will gesture to a level of pittance. Even having, quite, rightly, pointed out that what they had offered me was totally unacceptable, time and time again they right out refused to implement both common sense and good customer service and offer an acceptable will of good gesture. This is one of the worst retail experiences I have ever faced and god knows how they are still functioning as a business when they treat customers as they treated me in this scenario. Let this be a stark warning not to use The Works website.
