    Calendars and a jigsaw puzzle

    Thank you to The Works for excellent service. I ordered 4 calendars and a jigsaw puzzle 2 days ago and they arrived to-day, perfectly packed. The Calendars are wonderful, and each came with a beautiful Diary, such great value, how do they do it? It has made my day, thank you so much. I have previously had puzzles and books from the Works, and always been very well packed, and everything recycleable.

    Got them on Mon 5 April great book. The only bad thing is Hermes who delivered them are trying to scam me. They said they miss me and now they are trying to charge me. I was thinking again I would do this online but the experience of Herne trying to scam me as put me off so I will get them from store and not on line. Will u please sorted it

    Jig saw puzzles. I like a challenge but having just spent many many hours on a jigsaw called Butterflies dance I am annoyed. This is 1000 piece puzzle and 256 pieces are not shown on the picture on the box, including all the outline pieces and a large area on the left hand side. This puzzle was going to be challenging at best. There are some very small pictures on the side of the box but even so not all the picture is provided. The detail is also so small which doesn't help anyone with even slight sight impairment. Another company I have used includes a paper picture inserted in the box even though it can all be seen on the box lid. A good idea because both box and lid can be used to sort out pieces - a lot easier to see for sorting with half the pieces in each. The colours are vibrant which helps a lot but this chunk of missing picture needs sorting. They could use ... boxes like other companies to get all the picture on the lid.

    500 piece jigsaw puzzels

    Having bought 4 jigsaw puzzle's as presents I can not fault the delivery time or condition of box upon arrival, but two of the puzzles had been cut very badly and a number of pieces had de-laminated as well as being bent and deformed, had the shop been open I would have returned them but the internet is too much hassle.

    Disney Frozen Giant Colour Me Pad

    Placed an order on their website for home delivery. The first thing that went wrong was after placing my order and receiving an email order confirmation, I received another email to inform me that one of the items I had ordered was no longer in stock. If this item was no longer available, why was it still in stock when I placed my order? Secondly, they short changed me on my refund for this item. Thirdly, after sending several emails over numerous months requesting for them to send the money they owed me, no reply whatsoever. I then had to go to the trouble of phoning their customer service line. For the poor service I had received, I asked for a manager to get in contact with myself to offer a good will gesture for all of my troubles. The operator informed me that someone would be in contact. Do you think anyone bothered to reach out to me? Surprise, surprise, they did not. I, therefore, once again had to contact them, this time via Instagram and after having to ask countless times, someone did call but guess what during work hours. I then used my lunch break to call back and you've guessed it no manager was around to speak to me. By this point I was very annoyed and frustrated at the extremely poor, abysmal and pretty much non-existent customer service. A manager did eventually email and offered a good will gesture to a level of pittance. Even having, quite, rightly, pointed out that what they had offered me was totally unacceptable, time and time again they right out refused to implement both common sense and good customer service and offer an acceptable will of good gesture. This is one of the worst retail experiences I have ever faced and god knows how they are still functioning as a business when they treat customers as they treated me in this scenario. Let this be a stark warning not to use The Works website.

    I visited this store to buy some craft and painting items for my sons 14th birthday, only to be insulted directly to my face by the manager, my day wasn't going so well because i had had a recent loss in the family, only to be told by the manager that my loss and pain was nothing compared to hers. then proceeded to insult me further.

    This is not the first time the manager has done something like this, i have been to this store on multiple occasions, only to have her berating someone. or kicking them out of the store because she don't have what they want.

    Tilting sun parasol

    The parasol I ordered *clearly* shows it has a tilt facility which is what I needed.
    What I *got, was a basic parasol with no tilt mechanism.
    I wasted money and now have to spend *more* money buying the item I needed with a tilt mechanism. Where the tilt part should be, a bit of scratched metal pole has been put. It's jammed in so hard that the parasol pole has started to split.

    Acrylic paints

    I ordered some acrylic paints online via ebay as they did not have them in our local store. I paid for RM 2nd Class delivery, but after 10 days no sign of them. I contacted The Works Customer Services to obtain "delayed delivery" compensation via the RM and they said I had to wait 14 days to claim for a LOST delivery (not what I asked for) when I replied this was NOT what I requested they repeated the 14 day hiatus, but also added that they used Whistl couriers to handle the parcel. As I paid for Royal Mail this seems strange and against their supply terms, but explains why RM compensation could not be invoked! I have emailed The Works CEO about their very poor customer services and unagreed use of Whistl for (non) delivery. I am also making a claim via ebay for non-delivery. It seems a lottery whether you will get your goods on time or at-all and "Customer Service" just seems to be the name of the department with no understanding of what this means.
