    Still waiting since April

    Picked up the pre-order details at a gig in April and actually paid for the new Tom Ball CD thinking I'd have it for my morning commute. It's months on and still no disc, no reply to emails and the tmstor/Townsend Music site is down for "maintenance" so I can't even chase it properly. I use physical CDs at home and in the car, so this is inconvenient. Bit annoying, and makes me wonder how many others are stuck waiting.

    Halfway through unpacking I realised two of the records were missing and the signed 7‑inch wasn’t there. I’d ordered them because I was moving and needed some familiar music around the house — plus I’ve been burned by bad sellers before. After months of chasing I finally got a replacement for one record and a modest refund; the invoice even showed a 'flexi disk 0 €' which felt odd. Not great communication, but in the end things played and that’s what mattered.

    Careless packing, costly surprise

    they don't seem to care much about customers. I bought an expensive box set and hoped the "Official Store" would be sensible. Nope. They chucked everything in one huge package, which meant over €50 import fees. Previous orders also arrived damaged, so I was wary. It came, which was a relief, but there's no easy option to split shipments or cancel after confirmation. My tip: ask them to split parcels next time.

I went in a bit sceptical because overseas sellers can be hit-and-miss, but this arrived from abroad in under a week and neatly packed, really neatly, no damage. It’s a nice change from the usual four-week wait and endless chasing with local suppliers. I’ll buy from them again, though I’d still advise checking tracking and keeping expectations sensible. Price seemed fair, not brilliant, but fair, and the service was straightforward.

    Nearly didn’t bother, glad I did

    I almost didn't bother buying because the listing looked a bit suspect — it had a pre-order for my favourite artist's supposed eighth album with a 'signed print and personal video' but no official announcement. I’ve been burned by dodgy sites before, so I was wary. In the end I took a chance because I needed a signed copy for my collection and it matters to me. Contact with customer service was slow at first and that video promise felt a touch optimistic, but they kept me updated and the package arrived as described, signed and intact. Would recommend to fellow collectors, just be patient and ask questions.

    Small but annoying hassle

    Halfway through the week I got an email asking for ID to release the records — odd for an EU delivery — and after that things got a bit messy. I’d spotted the shop on a mates’ record group and even tipped a friend about the rare pressings, so I was keen. Customer service didn’t really help; the rep just pushed me to deal with the courier and didn’t explain anything, which left me hanging. The parcel was sent back and now there’s a €21 re-delivery charge. Glad it turned out OK though.

    the shop got in touch the next day with an explanation and an apology, and offered to reserve the copy that had gone missing. They honoured the price of the sale, sorted the payment with no extra fuss and confirmed delivery within a week. The record arrived as described, packaging intact, and it was exactly what I expected. Not perfect, and the initial ordering experience was poor, but the follow-up fixed it. So, would I buy from them again? Slightly reluctantly, yes — provided they keep that level of customer care. If you’re ordering on Record Store Day, be prepared for chaos and keep screenshots; if problems happen, be persistent and push for a written fix.

    Small hiccup, happy ending

    I’d used them twice before and always thought they were spot on. So when I placed another order for two CD box sets I didn’t worry. At first it was all normal — confirmation, payment, the usual. Then a few days later I noticed the order hadn’t actually been sent. Turned out one item wasn’t in stock. Annoying, but not the end of the world. What made the difference was how it played out. I had to chase a bit and do some digging myself, which was a shame, yet when the cancellation and refund finally came through I felt oddly relieved and actually pleased — that’s the moment I knew I was happy with the outcome. I’d bought elsewhere and got what I wanted quickly, and saved a couple of quid in the process. So I’d say give them a chance if you’ve shopped there before, just check stock if it’s urgent. A touch more upfront info would be lovely though. Overall a decent experience, with room for better communication.

    Slightly rocky but worth it

    Royal Mail eventually picked it up and even redirected the parcel when I asked, so I didn't miss anything. The records arrived in decent condition and sound great on my turntable. I've played them on evenings and on a long train ride; they slot right into my collection.
    So, not perfect. Communication needs work. Would I use them again? Maybe — but only if I can accept the risk of a delay. The positives are the stock selection and the final delivery, once it moved. Small imperfections, but for the music and the price I'm pretty pleased overall. I now reach for these records on slow Sundays, while making tea and pottering about, and they genuinely lift my mood.

    Half a collection, twice the waiting

    one of the signed prints. The thing that mattered most to me as a collector. I emailed the seller straight away. At first they sent me a link. Then they sent another. After a bit it became obvious they’d added a note on their site — after I’d paid — saying only one print per order. That wasn’t there when I bought. My order confirmation, the email I got at checkout, clearly says two prints. I kept re-reading it like it would change. The awkward bit is they’ve effectively altered their records so the website now shows only one, which feels like shifting the goalposts. I asked them to sort it. They stopped replying. No alternative offered, no apology, just silence. I can take delays, I can take stock issues. But poor communication and being fobbed off when you’ve got proof is frustrating. I’m still happy with the records themselves, they sound great, and I’m a bit pleased to own them finally. But the delivery hiccup and the customer service left a sour note — not the one I wanted framed on my wall.

    Signed bundle disappointment

    I ordered a signed bundle from this place not long ago, and I must say I was really let down. I was expecting to get a special deal on an Echo and the Bunnymen set, but when it arrived, there were no signatures to be found. Can you believe that? When I got in touch with their customer service about it, they had the nerve to say that I didn't actually order the signed bundle, even though that's the only option they had listed on their website. It's shocking how bad their communication and accountability are. I'm absolutely appalled.

    Vinyl record of a classic rock album

    I was absolutely livid when I came across this music website that turned out to be a scam. It's definitely dodgy, no question about it. The site looks like it's stuck in the '90s and just feels really sketchy. I thought I was getting a great deal when I bought a vinyl record of a classic rock album, but I couldn't have been more wrong. They took my money and never sent the product. I tried reaching out to them several times, but I never got a response. I'd recommend steering clear of this shady site.

    I had a terrible experience with this company. I preordered something and ended up waiting for days after it was supposed to be released. On top of that, the postage charge was way too high.     Vinyl/CD box set pre-order

    I pre-ordered a Vinyl/CD box set from this website on 26th March, but it didn't come by the promised release date of 29th March. I didn't hear anything from the company about the delay, and when I checked the website, my order was still active with no stock update. Feeling frustrated, I finally contacted customer service after waiting for over two weeks. They told me they never received the stock for the item and offered me a refund. The refund was quick, but I would have liked better communication. It would have been good to get an email or notification about the stock issues instead of being kept in the dark. I managed to find the item elsewhere for the same price, but this has put me off using their pre-order service again.

    Finn LP with limited edition signed print

    I had a really bad time trying to pre-order the Finn LP with a limited edition signed print from this company. I organised my order way ahead of time, but when the package arrived, the signed print was missing. I tried talking to their customer service, but they didn't even bother to reply. I had to get Paypal involved to sort it out. Townsend Music has shown they are not professional at all and don't respect their customers. I won't be buying from them again, that's for sure.

    I can't believe how cheeky this company is! They charge a fortune for postage and then have the cheek to send out non-vinyl items in dodgy packaging. It's like they don't give a toss about the quality of their products or making sure their customers are happy. I've had loads of issues with their service before, and it doesn't seem like anything has got better.

    I had an absolutely awful experience with this company. The service and customer care were shockingly poor. I preordered an album months ago, and only received it long after it was already in stores - completely unacceptable. I only wanted to support my favourite band, but this whole thing has really disappointed me. I suggest that anyone thinking of buying from here should definitely find somewhere else.
