    I got the £1 reply I wanted, so at first I was fine, but then I noticed extra charges on my bank statement — they’d taken more and signed me up to a membership without telling me properly. Really annoying; I’ve cancelled it and at least the original answer was okay, but I’d be wary next time given this really sneaky billing situation.

    I was actually relieved and quite pleased when my £1 question was answered straight away — that’s when I thought job done. A few days later I noticed a £35 withdrawal, which turned out to be a monthly plan I hadn’t agreed to. I’ve cancelled but they won’t refund. Other firms at least flag subscriptions up front, so check the fine print.

    Relief after the billing mix-up

    I felt proper relief the moment they told me the unauthorised charge was cancelled — that was when I knew it was all dealt with. I mostly use these services for quick answers about bills or paperwork, so having it fixed quickly mattered. The rep wasn't brilliant and there was a bit of faff, but the refund showed and they said they'd remove my details. Not flawless, but it works.

    Still charged after cancelling

    This is a clear fail — my membership was supposed to be cancelled but it's been reactivated and they're trying to take €29 on 31st December. I cancelled on 19th and again on 23rd December and I got confirmation both times, so I checked the account and it said cancelled. Yet today it shows active and a charge pending. I've had cancels handled cleanly by other firms, so this surprise charge feels sloppy, annoying and stressful.

    I was iffy about signing up — looked a bit too good to be true, but I tried the month’s trial (£30, silly me). The bank pinged me and blocked the first dodgy charge (pleasant surprise), so I cancelled straight away. They emailed to say it was cancelled, then a week later another £30 vanished. I’ve asked for a refund; they claim it’s cancelled but no money back. Company based in America, fyi.

    Halfway through the tiny terms I realised something was off. A mate pointed me at the service, and I thought '£1 for an answer' was fair, so I paid. It tried to upsell a phone consultation for more cash — I said no and walked away. Days later a mysterious £30 appeared on my card for a monthly membership I never agreed to. I cancelled, after a complaint they stopped new charges and promised a refund, keeping an eye on it.

    Hidden subscription, awkward outcome

    I thought it was a one‑off £10 — that’s why I tried it, I needed a quick bit of advice about a tenancy issue while moving and didn’t want to faff about. I had my doubts up front, but figured fine, £10. Then a few months later I spy repeated £45 debits and realise I’m on a monthly plan I never agreed to. I complained; they refunded £45 out of £180, so partly sorted but still annoyed. Not a total disaster, I got something back, but I’m cautious and wouldn’t trust them again without checking terms properly.

    Looks good, watch the billing

    Weird start — they asked for £1 to 'subscribe' and said it'd be refunded, and yes, that refund did show up, so I thought ok. Trouble is, a few days later they attempted to take about £30 as a fee, which wasn't clearly explained as a subscription charge. In fairness the small print mentions fees, but not the ongoing subscription, so I missed it. Support sorted the refund and the service worked fine, though it's a lesson to check the boxes. Had similar dodgy wording with another firm before.

    Toyota central locking

    I got in touch with the customer service team at JustAnswer about a problem I'm having with the central locking system in my Toyota. Steve was really helpful and knew his stuff, he gave me some advice and tips on how to sort it out. I even tried looking for a solution on the Toyota Owners Club but no luck, so Steve's knowledge has given me hope. I'm hopeful that his advice will do the trick, fingers crossed!
