12-day cruise Bergen-Kirkenes-Bergen
Before you go ahead and book your trip, it's important that you have a read of this to get an idea of what to expect. The accommodation on the boat is pretty basic - you'll get a cabin with a small bathroom, but the type of cabin will depend on how much you're willing to splash out. Norway isn't exactly known for being cheap, so be prepared to fork out for excursions and drinks. You won't have long at each stop, but if you make it to the daily presentations, you'll get a good idea of what you can get up to either solo or on an organised day out. We recently did the 12-day trip from Bergen to Kirkenes and back, and it was quite the adventure. We had all sorts of weather, from scorching heats to freezing cold and snow. The sea was sometimes calm, but other times it was really rough in the Barentz Sea. It wasn't all smooth sailing, but it was definitely an experience that will stick with us. The scenery was stunning, the food was delicious, the crew were lovely, and there was a really nice vibe on board. Plus, there was a mix of people from different countries, which made things even more interesting. We've only just got back, but already we're looking back on it as a truly special experience.
Arctic expedition and Norwegian Coastal ferry journey
I recently got back from an Arctic expedition around Svalbard and a trip on the Norwegian Coastal ferry. The expedition was well-organised, with a really skilled Expedition Team making sure we landed safely on shore and ice, and giving us fantastic opportunities for kayaking in the sea ice. The crew were great, always looking out for polar bears and northern lights, and making sure we had a smooth sailing experience. The food was delicious, and the cabins were really cosy and comfy. I can't wait to book my next trip already! The journey on the Norwegian Coastal ferry was a different but still really enjoyable experience. The ferry's main focus was getting us from A to B, but we still had some amazing excursions and really tasty food choices. The cabins were nice and clean, making for a really relaxing journey.
Trip booking for 5 people
After hearing some negative reviews, we were feeling a bit nervous, but everything actually went really well in the end. We did have a few issues with our booking code, but a quick email sorted it out in no time. The flight to Bergen was nice and easy, and the bus dropped us off right at the terminal where we could chill out with some snacks before getting on the ship. The ship, called Polarlys, was really cosy and the cabins were quite small. The food was fantastic, and they even had vegan options which was great. We decided to explore the port cities on our own as the organised tours were a bit pricey. The weather was fantastic and the views were amazing. The hotel in Kirkenes was really nice and accommodating as well. All in all, it was a brilliant trip.
Sailed on a big ship in Norway
We had an amazing time on a huge ship in Norway, travelling from place to place. The ship was a bit old but really cosy and charming. The beds were incredibly comfortable, we slept like babies with the sound of the engine lulling us to sleep. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff were so friendly. We had a bit of rain one day, but most of the time it was sunny and we saw many wonderful places along the journey. The Panorama Lounge was fantastic, we enjoyed the stunning views with our drinks. The ship had a stabiliser to prevent too much rocking, but there was still a bit of a sway in the waves which added to the fun. The check-in and check-out process was quick and easy, and we reached the airport in no time after leaving the ship.
I went on a 3 night tour from one place to another, but it was not fun at all.
My family and I booked this trip and it totally wasn't what we were expecting. We were hoping for some interesting stops along the way, but instead we ended up stuck in random places with nothing to do. And one entire day was just spent sailing around with absolutely nothing exciting going on. It was a real disappointment, to be honest.
Disappointing cabin experience
During our recent stay on a ship, we were put in a cabin close to the outer door of the car deck. During the night, the door would make a lot of noise and shake the walls every time the ship stopped at small ports. This made it really hard for us to get any sleep for three nights. We spoke to guest services about it, and they told us the door was meant to be fixed in Bergen but never was. Other guests and crew were also complaining about the same issue, but nothing was done to sort it out. We were surprised to hear that the rooms weren't supposed to be used at all because of this problem, but due to overbooking, we were put there anyway. It's a shame to see a company value profit over making sure customers have a good experience during their trip.
Cruise experience
I've just finished a cruise from Bergen to Kirkenes and back, and it was absolutely incredible. Although there were some problems with the website at the start, the crew's service was outstanding. The food on board was amazing, and the whole operation from airport to ship and back was smooth. The scenery along the journey, like witnessing the Northern Lights, was absolutely stunning. It's basically a functional ship with a hotel on top, which really added to the charm and specialness of the trip. I'll definitely be thinking about another trip in the future.
Reise mit Polarlichter
I recently went on a Polarlichter trip, and it was amazing! Unfortunately, we encountered a really bad storm which forced us to stop the trip. Thankfully, the team was incredibly kind and did their best to improve the situation for us, despite the weather disrupting our plans. They assisted us with hotels, flights, and other arrangements. Even though the trip had to be cut short, Hurtigruten was very accommodating, offering us a great deal on another trip or a refund. Overall, Heinz and Maria Henninger were pleased with the service provided.
Expedition to Antarctica
The trip to Antarctica was absolutely amazing! Right from the start, I was really impressed with how everything was so well organised and the attention to detail was top-notch. The schedule was great, with plenty of landings and cruising each day to really soak in the stunning sights of Antarctica. The ship was super comfy and had all the modern comforts, like good wifi. The crew were brilliant, so friendly and helpful, they really made the trip special. I honestly can't recommend this expedition enough, it was fantastic.
Antarctica, Falklands, and BKB trip
Honestly, I've been on quite a few trips with this company and I have to say, it's been an absolute pleasure every time. The crew are amazing, always willing to lend a hand and give top-notch service. The expedition teams really know their stuff and are super professional, which makes the whole experience even better. The food is tasty, the ships are always nice and cosy. I can't recommend this company enough, it's always a fantastic experience.
Cruise booking
I recently booked a cruise with this company and I have to say, it was not a very pleasant experience. They are known for being quite pushy with their pricing, always raising the prices and offering discounts that don't really save you money in the end. Most of their customers are elderly, and they end up paying more than they need to because of confusion with booking and unnecessary extras. The customer service managers are not very nice to deal with either, more concerned with hitting targets than actually looking after the customers. All in all, I found the whole experience to be pretty unfriendly and annoying.
Scammy mobile game adverts
This company's mobile game ads are such a rip-off. They say you'll get rewards, but you never actually receive them. On top of that, the game keeps crashing and deleting everything you've done. It's so annoying and just a big waste of time! If they can't even get an ad to work properly, how can I rely on them to guide me safely across oceans?
Cancelled cruise
They had to cancel our cruise right before we were about to go because the ship had some problems. And then they wouldn't refund our money and took forever to respond to me. It was so disappointing.
Expedition cruise
The expedition cruise was absolutely amazing, definitely a 5-star experience all round. The scenery, wildlife, and overall vibe were truly unforgettable. But, I have to say, the service before and after from the company was disappointing. It was a real shambles, with long wait times for simple questions, promises that weren't kept, and just an overall unprofessional vibe. It's a shame that such an incredible experience was let down by such poor customer service.
Booking expedition, broken promises
At first, they cancelled my expedition which made me reach out to the company again because of their dishonest behaviour. I talked to a call handler and their team leader, and they guaranteed that I could still go on the expedition but on a different ship with the same price. But then, after they gave me a cabin, they didn't keep their promise of matching the price, and they didn't even explain why. I'm really disappointed and feel betrayed by the lack of honesty from this company. I was ready to give them another shot after they said they would match the price, but once again they let me down.
My trip was awesome
Oh my gosh, I went on this trip and it was really cool at first. The views were amazing and the boats were pretty much on time. But then they cancelled our trip and it was honestly the worst thing ever. It's like they don't even care about you once they have your money. They never communicate and it's really annoying. It's as if they're hoping you'll just forget about your refund. So frustrating, ugh.
Coastal trip, Bergen-Kirkenes-Bergen
I recently went on a fabulous coastal trip and it was absolutely fantastic. The boat was fantastic and the crew were all really friendly. The food was delicious too. It's not your typical cruise, more like a ferry but a lot better. You get to see interesting things, try fun activities, and meet some great people.
Ferry booking Ålesund to Bergen
At 11:20 in the morning, we couldn't find a ticket desk and Google maps was no help in getting us where we needed to go. We tried calling customer services for help, but they were closed, which left us feeling lost and unsure of what to do.
Cruise experience
I had a bit of a disappointment on my cruise. The customer service wasn't great because I got charged too much for my drinks on board. I told them about it right away but even after 5 weeks and lots of emails, I still haven't got my £119 refund. Their slow response has really annoyed me and made me unhappy with the whole cruise. Now I'm thinking about trying other options for my next trip.
