I remember the exact moment I relaxed — on the call with Kieran when he walked me through two subtle clauses and explained why they mattered. Harlie was the one who set it up and really took time to run through options, which was refreshing after a poor review I’d paid for elsewhere. I bought the next-day IR35 assessment, and the turnaround was honest and quick. Kieran suggested a few amendments that seemed small but actually changed my view completely. He answered my follow-up calls without drama, which was a nice surprise. All in all, felt like a proper expert pair of eyes — confident now, would recommend.
Stranded with a spare
Stuck on the hard shoulder, watching lorries thunder past, I realised I was properly annoyed but also oddly relieved once I finally reached a garage. I phoned them because my rear tyre had gone abroad and there was a spare in the boot — only rated for about 50km and the nearest exit was over 100km away. They said that meant no pickup and left me to figure it out. So I limped on that temp wheel for well over 400km until a garage could sort me out. I’ve had decent help from other breakdown firms before, so this felt worse by comparison. The real moment of satisfaction was when the new tyre was on and I could stop worrying. Won’t be using them again.
Late-night let-down
tow it to a garage and leave it there; option B: send a mechanic out but if he couldn’t fix it, that was the end of their responsibility. Fine, that’s clear but also pretty limiting when you’re stuck with your partner and no real plan. The operator was polite though, I’ll give them that, and the engineer who turned up was competent. Oddly, the battery (Caputo) sprang back to life after a jump, so we limped home and I bought a new one next day. I ended up signing up with a different provider while waiting. Won’t be renewing here — useful detail: service wasn’t terrible, but the delivery/cover limits annoyed me.
Cold call left me stranded
I was driving home along a narrow country lane when the exhaust dropped and was dragging under the car. It was still attached at the back but hanging, so moving on wasn't an option without wrecking the undertray. Spent 25 minutes on the phone with their call centre; the person sounded flat and told me the claim was invalid because I could, allegedly, manoeuvre forwards and backwards. That answer ignored the obvious safety issue — I could maybe shuffle five yards before doing real damage or risking someone’s life. I use this car every day for school runs and work, so being left on a dark lane felt awful. Clearly too ready to deny help.
Not quite the rescue I expected
a long list of questions, a bit clinical, like they were ticking boxes rather than trying to help. After all that they told me they wouldn't cover it because they now consider punctures to be accidents. I used the puncture kit, got enough air to limp to a Halfords, and it still took seven hours to get home. If I'd been in a more isolated spot or less able, I honestly don’t know what I’d have done. They had my details that show I struggle on my own, so it felt like they weren't taking that into account. I don't want to say it's all useless — the kit did let me move the car a short distance and the policy wasn't outrageously priced — but the whole phone ordeal and the refusal left me annoyed. My tip: read the small print about punctures and, if you can, carry a real spare. I expected to be reassured; felt more like dealing with paperwork than a rescue.
Misleading cover, unreliable rescue
I wouldn’t trust them with real breakdown cover. I’d been paying for the policy for years and when I actually needed help they found a reason not to recover the car. They claimed the vehicle was in “limp mode” (even though it clearly wasn’t) and used that to refuse a recovery — it felt like a get-out clause. The billing and online sign-up were straightforward enough, and their paperwork looked fine, but that doesn’t help when you’re stuck by the roadside. Customer service sounded polite but kept circling the same line, so you end up arguing rather than being helped. I’ve dealt with other providers before who sent a recovery truck without the fuss, so this stood out as especially poor. There’s a small chance you’ll never need them and then you’ll think everything’s fine, but if you expect actual rescue I’d be cautious. Not perfect service, not a total disaster either — just unreliable when it matters most.
Not what I expected, but it did sort itself out
I wasn’t impressed at first, but by the end I could at least see it worked – even if it wasn’t at all how I pictured it. I took out UK cover thinking I could be recovered back home or to my usual garage if anything went wrong. I only used it after three years of paying for it, and of course the one time I needed them was about 15 miles from home, at about 3pm on a dull weekday. Typical.
Emergency breakdown cover
My experience with the emergency breakdown cover service was really disappointing. I'd bought a 2-week cover for a trip to France, but when my van's battery totally died, I was stuck. I called them for help, but they said no because I hadn't told them before. Their unhelpful attitude and lack of support made it even more stressful and annoying. It felt like they were used to turning people away, which was really disheartening.
Breakdown Assistance Experience
I had to call breakdown assistance the other day because I got a flat tire on a busy motorway, and it was pretty stressful. But I have to admit, the breakdown service team were really quick to respond, explained everything clearly, and showed real understanding towards my situation. I really appreciated their quick and professional help, it definitely made the whole situation less stressful. I would definitely suggest having your policy details handy when you call them, as it can help speed things up and make the whole process smoother.
Breakdown cover review
Avoid this company at all costs! I didn't bother reading all the fine details and now I'm regretting it. My car decided to go into limp mode when I was 200 miles away from home, and you won't believe it - I'm not even covered for it. QDOS had the nerve to tell me to limp along at 30mph on the motorway, can you believe that? It's not just unsafe, it's absolutely absurd. Do yourself a favour and find a better breakdown cover provider.
Breakdown recovery service
The service I received from QDOS Breakdown was absolutely fantastic when I was in a tough spot. I had a breakdown and had a terrible time dealing with a garage, but QDOS came to the rescue and got my car collected and taken home quickly. I want to thank Lily Hagans for being so understanding and helpful throughout. The recovery truck arrived within an hour, which was really impressive and I was extremely grateful. It's so important to have a reliable breakdown service when things go wrong, and QDOS Breakdown definitely went above and beyond. I was so impressed with their professionalism and customer service that I've decided to renew my subscription with them in September. A big thank you to the whole team at QDOS for making a stressful situation much better.
Breakdown assistance experience
I had the absolute worst day today! Our car decided to break down on us, so we called for help. But let me tell you, it was an absolute disaster. The people on the phone were completely useless and didn't offer any assistance at all! Can you believe they actually had the audacity to tell us to find a garage ourselves? I mean, come on! We pay for breakdown assistance for a reason, don't we? It feels like a total rip off now.
Breakdown Recovery Service
Recently, my car broke down and I had to call roadside recovery. The person who answered the phone was really professional and efficient. Even though it was late on a Sunday night, they were really polite and reassuring. They said they would make my case a priority because it was late and I was on my own at night, which made me feel much better.
Company van fleet roadside assistance
I recently got roadside assistance cover for my company vans from this provider, hoping for quick and dependable help in emergencies. But, twice when my employees needed help changing a tyre after hitting potholes, they refused to come, saying it was an accident and not covered. This lack of support when we needed it most has really damaged the trust and reliability I was counting on from this provider. I'm really disappointed with the service as a customer.
Bad breakdown experience
My experience with this company when my car broke down was really disappointing! There were so many warning lights on and it was totally unsafe to drive. I explained that my car could still move but it was clearly not safe, yet they still said my claim was invalid - can you believe that? I ended up waiting 4 hours for help only to be told that since my car was able to move, my claim wasn't valid. It's just ridiculous! It seems like this company doesn't really care about customer safety.
Breakdown cover problem
What a nightmare! My car wouldn't start, so I rang the number I was given for help, but turns out, I wasn't even registered. Checked my account online and everything seemed fine, but still couldn't get assistance. Ended up forking out a load of cash to get my van moving. Got in touch with the company and all they had to say was that their phone number had changed, like that was a valid excuse for leaving me stuck. Insisted on a refund for my premium because their lack of responsibility is unbelievable. If they don't pay up, I'll be escalating this to the ombudsman. QDos is a complete joke of a company, best to avoid them.
Breakdown in supermarket car park
I recently broke down in a supermarket car park and had to call for help from this company. But I was met with loads of excuses why they couldn't come, like not being able to find my policy! It was ridiculous and made me really annoyed and stuck. I wouldn't recommend this company at all for any breakdown help.
Road traffic accident assistance
I was in a road traffic accident and honestly, these guys were brilliant! They stayed really calm and were so fast at getting my car sorted. I felt really at ease and they got a recovery vehicle to me in just 30 minutes. They even gave me a call back later to check up on me. Thank you so much for looking after me when I really needed it!
Quick response and great communication
They were really fast in helping me out when my car broke down and they kept me informed throughout the whole process. The mechanic arrived promptly and did his best to repair my car. When he realised he couldn't fix it, he arranged for it to be towed to a garage, but I managed to get help before that happened. The car got fixed the following day.
Vehicle breakdown recovery
Today, I had a really bad experience with a breakdown recovery service provider. I run a fleet in the care sector, so it's super important to have reliable partners. Sadly, dealing with this company has been a huge letdown. When one of our vehicles broke down, we reached out for help only to be met with unhelpful call handlers and unreasonable demands. Even after giving them all the info they needed, we got no empathy or understanding. It was really frustrating and made us question their honesty. We tried to get the issue sorted out, but the lack of professionalism and urgency just made things worse. This has seriously damaged our trust in the company, and now we're searching for a new breakdown recovery service for our fleet.
