Plant purchase
I was really disappointed with the quality of the plants I got from the garden. They were in bad shape, some were even dead when they arrived. I was expecting better considering how well-known the garden is. The customer service experience wasn't great either - it took ages to try and sort things out and it was so frustrating. This will definitely be my first and last time ordering from here, I just felt so disappointed by the whole thing. I was also surprised that there wasn't an option to leave a review on the website - it would have been helpful to give feedback on what I bought.
Plants and watering can
I was really let down by my recent purchase from the garden section. They said it would be dispatched in 3-5 days, but it actually took two weeks and lots of reminders. When the package finally turned up, the box holding the plants was all smashed and the plants inside were small and not doing well. On top of that, the watering can I got didn't have the rose attachment it needed to work properly. All in all, it was a really disappointing and annoying experience.
Plants and gardening tools
I'm really into gardening and not long ago I bought some plants and tools from this shop. But, I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with the service I got. I asked for help twice and both times the staff weren't very helpful and seemed like they didn't really care. It's frustrating to get that kind of treatment, especially when you're trying to get advice on what to buy. Because of this bad experience, I've decided to shop somewhere else in the future.
Ordered banana plant
I ordered this really cool banana plant from a garden store, yeah? When it arrived, though, it turned out to be the wrong one! I was thinking, "Oh no, what's happened here?" But I decided to give their customer service a call, and you know what? They were incredibly kind. They told me they'd send me the correct plant and let me keep the one they'd sent in error. How great is that? The very next day, the right banana plant arrived at my doorstep. They were both so lovely, I couldn't choose a favourite. Plus, I didn't even have to go through the hassle of sending back the wrong one - that's a win-win situation.
Diseased plant purchase
I recently bought a plant from Waitrose Garden, but unfortunately, when it arrived on Friday, I found that it was in bad shape and seemed to be sick. So, I got in touch with customer service right away to sort things out. They asked me to send emails with pictures of the plant, which I did. But despite sending several emails to both Crocus and Waitrose Garden in the last two weeks, all I've got back are just acknowledgements that they got my emails. It's a bit disappointing that they haven't done more to address my complaint, and it makes me wonder how well their customer service really works. It would have been better if they had been more helpful and quick to fix the problem. I hope that in the future, their customer service team will be better at communicating and solving problems efficiently.
Three succulents
I bought three succulents from an online shop not long ago, but I had a really bad experience with their customer service. One of the plants I got wasn't even what I ordered - instead, it was a Venus Fly trap that was poorly packed and arrived damaged. When I tried to get in touch with customer service, all I got was a recorded message on the phone and my emails were ignored. This lack of communication, along with the wrong item, has left me feeling really annoyed and let down.
Terracotta pot, orchid
After I saw some bad reviews, I was a bit worried about ordering a terracotta pot and an orchid from the garden center. But I decided to go for it anyway. To my surprise, both items arrived quickly and in really good condition. The terracotta pot was wrapped up really well and had a fragile label, so it arrived safely within just 2 days. The orchid was packed in a special plant box, and everything was in perfect shape - the flowers, leaves, pot, and barks. I was really impressed with how careful they were with packaging and handling my order, especially after reading those bad reviews.
Deckchair purchase
I'm really upset with Waitrose Garden. I bought a deckchair on April 25th but still haven't got it by June 1st. They took £95 from my credit card, and even after trying to get in touch with them several times, their customer service has been useless. It got so bad that I had to speak to Waitrose Customer Services to try and sort things out. I can't believe how badly this has been dealt with, and now I'm worried that I might not even get my order.
15 terracotta troughs
I bought 15 terracotta troughs from this garden because they were said to be strong. But after using them for two years, 13 of them started to crumble and fall apart. The troughs mostly broke vertically, splitting the long face into two pieces. When I got in touch with the customer service team to talk about this problem, they told me that the troughs were only guaranteed for a year and they couldn't offer any more help. This whole thing left me feeling let down and unhappy with both the quality of the product and the service I received.
Purchase of 3 plants
I purchased 3 plants online expecting them to be really nice and in full bloom upon arrival. Much to my disappointment, this was not the case at all! One of the plants was a tiny hydrangea and it arrived squished and broken. The clematis was practically half-dead, which made me wonder why they bothered sending it. Additionally, the buds on one of the stems were all crushed. It was honestly not very pleasant. As for their customer service, oh don't even get me started! I sent them photos and completed the form, but they still haven't taken any action. It's all just very frustrating!
Buddleia plant with blackfly
I bought a buddleia plant from the garden section recently, and I was really disappointed with it when it arrived. It was small and had blackfly infestation, which is not good for a nursery to be sending out. I got in touch with customer service straight away to sort it out and asked for a refund.
Two small plants
I was really let down by the two plants I bought online. They were a lot smaller than I expected considering how much I paid for them. Looking back, I think I would have got a better deal if I had gone to a garden centre and checked out the plants before purchasing. I emailed my disappointment but all I got back was a standard apology saying that plant sizes can differ throughout the year. This reply didn't really help and I still felt unhappy with the situation.
Plants arrived dead
I bought some plants online, you know, because I thought it would be a nice addition to my home. But when they arrived, they were completely dead! I tried my best to bring them back to life, but no luck. I got in touch with customer service, but they were no help at all. I had to keep bothering them for days just to get a reply. And even when I gave them my order number, they still didn't sort it out. What a waste of money and such a disappointing experience, to be honest.
Purchased plants and clematis
I had a bit of a letdown with the garden department from this company recently. I ordered some plants and clematis online, hoping to get some nice, healthy ones. When they arrived, though, three of the plants were dead, covered in mould, and all dried up. The two clematis that did survive were puny and not worth the money. I wasn't happy with the quality of the stuff they sent me and started to doubt if I should keep buying from their supplier.
I complained to the company and they gave me a refund. But I was disappointed that they didn't say sorry and just gave me a generic response saying they couldn't fulfil my order. Overall, my experience with the garden department was pretty bad and now I'm not sure if I want to buy anything else from them in the future.Plant specimens
I bought some plants from this shop not long ago, and I was really let down by the quality. They were much smaller than I thought they would be and I felt like I didn't get my money's worth. When I tried to return them, the customer service was really difficult and not what I was hoping for. In the end, I was just left feeling really disappointed with my whole experience at this store.
Plants
I'm really let down by my latest delivery of plants from this garden shop. I was so excited to get a lovely bunch of plants to liven up my garden, but it turns out only half of them showed up, and they were in a sorry state - completely dried out and half dead. I was absolutely gobsmacked and disheartened by the sorry state of the plants I received, and to top it off, the other half of my order didn't even arrive. It's safe to say this whole situation has been a massive letdown.
Plants, disappointing quality, poor customer service
I bought some plants from an online garden shop recently, and I have to say, I was really disappointed with the whole thing. The plants turned up looking sorry for themselves - all dry, droopy, and almost dead. They weren't even packed properly for the journey, and they didn't look anything like what was described on the website. When I tried to ask for a refund, I got really unhelpful responses and confusing information about the plants' growth cycle. Dealing with their customer service team was just frustrating, as it felt like they were using sneaky language to avoid giving me a refund or cancelling my order. All in all, a pretty awful experience that I wouldn't want anyone else to go through.
Plants for friend's birthday
At 9.20 pm, I was annoyed that I couldn't reach anyone. It felt unprofessional and frustrating.
Potted plant
I bought a potted plant from the store recently, but it was a let-down. The plant came in a damaged box with dry, yellow leaves, clearly struggling in transit. When I got in touch with customer service and sent photos of the plant, they asked for more pictures but then didn't bother to respond. The lack of care from the customer service team was shocking. It feels like a gamble whether you'll get a healthy plant from this store, and it's lost them another unhappy customer.
Raised bed with support frame
I bought a raised bed with a support frame from this online store recently. Unfortunately, when it arrived, I noticed that a part of the support frame was missing. I sent an email to their customer service team right away but didn't hear back. After waiting a few days, I decided to call their helpline. The person I spoke to didn't seem to know how to help me and said they would check with their manager and get back to me, but they never did. I then tried to contact Waitrose's Head Office in Bracknell, only to find out that Waitrose Garden is a different company with a call centre in South Africa. It's been a bit of a nightmare trying to sort this out, and now I'm looking at how I can get my money back for the missing part. I definitely wouldn't recommend buying from this retailer.
