Misleading hotel information
I had a terrible experience with this platform. The hotel info was totally wrong and out of date. The customer service was awful. I really recommend booking directly with the hotels next time.
Malta Trip
I recently went to Malta with my family for our summer holiday and used this amazing website to book a few hotels. It was so easy to book and there were tons of options for rooms and board. The prices were really reasonable as well. The hotels I ended up staying at looked exactly like they did in the pictures and were all recommended by the website. I had such a fantastic time!
Booking mishap
I had a really bad time with a hotel booking recently using a particular platform. So, I turned up at the hotel in Miami that I booked through this platform, right, and it's 3 am and they're telling me they haven't been paid. I had to pay for another room out of my own pocket for that night. I got in touch with the platform straight away to ask for a refund and I'm hoping to get my money back soon.
Unhygienic hotel experience, no refund yet
I was really unhappy with my stay at this hotel recently. As soon as I arrived, I saw lots of bugs and the room wasn't clean. I told the staff about it, but they didn't do anything to sort it out. And to make matters worse, I still haven't been given a refund for my stay, which is just not on.
Cancelled booking, no refund
I cancelled my rooms and they told me it would take 5-7 days for my money to come back as my credit card number had changed. They said they couldn't update it and now it's been weeks with no refund! They're asking for a picture of my card, can you believe it?
Refund for hotel cancellation
I had to cancel my hotel booking in Glasgow and got my money back within 2 days. Also had to cancel a 9-night stay in Japan, got an instant response and the money was back in my account the next day (even though they said it could take 5-20 days). No complaints here, usually people only talk about bad experiences so I wanted to share my good one.
Booking gone wrong
I had an absolutely dreadful experience with this company. We were pointed in their direction by another booking site, only to discover that they're impossible to get hold of and extremely unprofessional. When we had to cancel because of the awful weather, we didn't get a refund despite the fact that the hotel didn't receive any money either. It's just not on, it feels like a case for consumer protection.
Hotel room booking
I booked a hotel room right away, but then I realised I needed to cancel as soon as possible. Can you believe it? They actually tried to charge me a cancellation fee even though I cancelled almost immediately! I went on the website to cancel, but it's as if my booking didn't even exist. I sent them an email, but I haven't received a reply, and when I called them, I was left on hold for what felt like an eternity.
Hotel booking
I'm really disappointed with the service I got from this company. I booked through their website, but they charged my card and didn't actually confirm the booking. When I tried to contact customer service for help, I couldn't reach anyone. The lack of communication and support from this company is just not on.
Reservation mix-up
I recently booked 2 DELUXE rooms for 4 adults and 2 children through this website. However, when we got to the hotel, they gave us 2 STANDARD rooms instead. The staff said there was no reservation for the children from the booking company. When I contacted customer service about this, they replied in a different language to the one I used when booking and said I had booked what I got. Even though I had proof that I booked differently, they kept saying I was wrong. My experience with this booking company was really disappointing and I felt like they were trying to trick me. I strongly recommend not booking through them in the future.
Last-minute hotel switch
I booked a hotel in Gran Canaria using this website not long ago. But when I got to the hotel, they said my room had been double booked. They told me I had to go to a different hotel 4 miles away and return the next day. After booking 5 months ahead of time, this was really annoying and disheartening. I got in touch with customer service and eventually a nice representative helped me sort everything out in the end.
Hotel booking experience
I recently booked a hotel through this website and it was a complete disaster. The customer service was terrible - they were so rude, unhelpful, and just seemed to want to shout at me over the phone instead of helping me with any issues. When I requested confirmation of my booking, the representative didn't even have an email address and kept asking me for it repeatedly. The confirmation email I eventually got was for a completely different hotel and was even sent from an email address of a different company. It was all just a total mess and I definitely won't be using this site again.
Booking payment issue
I've just had a really frustrating situation with a hotel booking payment from a third-party website. When I got to the hotel, they told me the room hadn't been paid for, even though the booking platform had already taken the money from my account. I made lots of calls to the company, but each time I got different information and one of their representatives was really unprofessional. The problem still hasn't been sorted out. I wouldn't recommend using this company for hotel bookings because they're not reliable and don't take responsibility for their mistakes.
Reservation nightmare
My experience with this company was absolutely awful. I booked a hotel with them and when I got there, they said they had no record of my reservation. I showed them my confirmation from the hotel, but they insisted that I was mistaken. It was a complete nightmare and a total waste of time.
Cancelled holiday, refund delay
I'm really disappointed with the situation regarding my cancelled holiday with Hotelopia back in June 2020. It's been a long wait for my refund, despite them reaching out to me initially and asking for my email to help. Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything back or received my money. The lack of follow-up and communication from Hotelopia has left me feeling let down, and it doesn't reflect well on how they run their business. I've tried reaching out to them through emails and phone calls, but I keep getting cut off or unhelpful responses. As a last resort, I've contacted my credit card provider to try and sort this out. Overall, my whole experience with Hotelopia has been frustrating, and I would suggest that others avoid booking with them if they can.
Covid booking problem
So, I booked this hotel and then had to cancel because of Covid, yeah? They were saying, "Don't stress, you'll get your money back in 5 weeks." But I waited and waited, nothing happened. Emailed them, heard nothing, like, what's that about? Suddenly, they wanted my reference number, but still no refund or anything. Ugh, so gutted, I really needed that money back, you get me? But then, after all that waiting, finally got my refund. Took them long enough!
Reservation issues with Hotelopia
I booked two reservations with Hotelopia, opting for the free cancellation feature. Unfortunately, even though I didn't get a confirmation, my credit card was still charged for the full amount. When I tried to cancel my bookings, I found that the website was down and I couldn't reach anyone at customer service. It's worrying, especially with everything going on with COVID-19 - you need reliable service providers. I suggest avoiding this agency, as my experience has just been stressful and disappointing.
Changed arrival date, noticed on booking confirmation, no cancellation possible, money gone. Be careful!
They went ahead and changed my arrival date without even letting me know, I only found out when I saw the confirmation! I couldn't cancel and they ended up taking my money. Make sure to be careful and watch out for this!
One-night hotel booking
I really wouldn't recommend using this hotel booking site! My experience was not good at all. We tried to book a room for one night, entered all our payment details, but kept getting an error message telling us the payment hadn't gone through and to try again. We tried 3 times, always with the same problem. We didn't get any payment or booking confirmation, so we ended up booking through a different provider with no trouble. Then, 2 days later, Hotelopia took two different amounts from our account - twice! It was a shock because our booking clearly hadn't gone through.
When we contacted customer service, the person on the other end was in Mexico and could only speak English, which wasn't a big deal for us. We explained our problem and he said he'd check with the hotel and sort it out for us - we just needed to email him. Two days later, he replied saying the hotel wouldn't refund us because they claimed everything had gone smoothly and he couldn't do anything else. We were basically stuck with the charges. Like I said before, I really can't recommend booking anything on this site.Recent booking experience

However, once I got in touch with the hotel directly, they confirmed that my booking was all good on their end. Despite some negative stuff I saw online, I decided to stay calm and trust that Hotelopia is a legit site and not a scam. It's worth remembering that their customer service might be dealing with a lot of calls, especially with everything going on right now. Their offices are actually based in England, so reaching out to them during their working hours is key for a smooth experience. All in all, my booking went well but it did require a bit of patience.
