Overpriced crooks
I can't believe how awful these guys are! I've been trying to sort out my complaints with them for weeks now and they still haven't done anything about it. I've called them 20 times and it feels like I might as well have been talking to a brick wall. They're just a bunch of crooks who charge way too much for everything. Do yourself a favour and steer clear of them at all costs!
Contract renewal issue
I had a nightmare of an experience with this energy company recently. They went ahead and renewed my contract without even asking me, and at a rate that was three times higher than what I was used to paying with my usual supplier. It meant I ended up forking out a lot more for my electricity, which was really annoying and put a strain on my finances. It took me ages to sort it out and finally cancel the agreement, but the company wouldn't give me back the extra money they charged me or even explain why they hiked up the prices so much.
Surety for energy services
As a customer of this energy service provider, I have to say I am really disappointed with the customer service representative and their legal team. It's just not right to be treated like we're only valuable for their profit. I won't be used in that way and I won't stand for their unfair behaviour. We should all be respected and treated with dignity as customers, not just seen as tools to be used and controlled. I hope other businesses take note and don't try to exploit their customers like this, it's just not acceptable.
New Energy Plan
I'm really angry at the moment! I phoned up to find out about my rate and now they've signed me up to a 3-year contract without even asking me. It's like they're trying to deceive us!
Payment issues with bills<br>
My bills just kept going up and I couldn't keep up with the extra payments. When I tried to get help from customer service, it was a nightmare. In the end, I managed to pay off the account but somehow still ended up being sent to collections.
Electricity services
I've recently signed up for electricity services and I have to say, I've been really disappointed with the whole experience. Right from the start, I've been having problems with the billing system not registering my payments. I've tried to sort it out so many times over the last few months, but I've had no success. The customer service folks I spoke to during my long, annoying phone calls weren't much help at all and didn't really seem to care about fixing my issue quickly.
Energy services
I am completely shocked by how terrible my experience has been with this company. I decided to get their energy services, and straight away I realised it was a mistake. I keep getting bills for services I haven't even used, and their customer service is nowhere to be found. I've tried to sort things out, but there's no one available to speak to. It's as if they're deliberately dodging customer problems and complaints. I'm starting to feel like they've ripped me off and taken my money unfairly. It's just not right and it's really disappointing!
Energy brokers misinformation
I was absolutely shocked by the tactics used by these energy brokers who were pretending to be legit but actually just wanted personal info. It's totally wrong for a business to be deceitful like that.
Misleading sales tactics
The salespeople at this company told me I'd get better prices than what I'm paying now, but in truth, I actually ended up forking out more money and had to pay for both services while I switched over. When I got in touch with customer service about it, they weren't very helpful and pretty much said I'd agreed to everything. I really wish I'd checked the reviews beforehand to save myself the trouble.
Attempted electricity service
I recently tried to add electricity to my gas account with this company, and it was a total disaster. The website was so confusing, I had to keep creating a new account every time I tried to use it. After a 3 month long process, I discovered that they had actually rejected my request months ago without telling me. I spent ages on the phone trying to sort things out, only to be told multiple times that the issue had been fixed, when it hadn't. Eventually, I gave up and switched to Epcor, a different company, which only took me 10 minutes to set everything up. Direct Energy Regulated Services and Direct Energy Services just made things even more confusing and frustrating. The management really needs to do a better job to ensure customers have a smooth and efficient experience.
Account set up issues
I've been having a lot of problems trying to get my electricity account sorted out. It's been really frustrating as I've been on the phone for ages trying to fix things, but somehow multiple accounts for the same address keep getting set up. The communication has been really bad too, with different people giving me conflicting information. I was told one start date, but that didn't happen, which just made things even more inconvenient. It's all been a mess and it's been stressing me out a lot.
Power and gas services
I have to say, as a customer of this company, my experience with their power and gas services has been really disappointing. The billing has been inaccurate, the communication about meter readings has been lacking, overall the service provided hasn't been great. The fact that the full amount isn't always taken for auto debit payments and the sudden bill spikes without explanation have been really frustrating for me. Dealing with unexpected charges, especially when my power/gas usage hasn't increased, is just not on. I wouldn't recommend others to use this company for their power and gas needs, as my experience has been really unsatisfactory.
Electricity and Gas
I had a bit of a nightmare with my energy supplier recently. I had this feeling like they were trying to pull a fast one on me by adding on these extra transmission and distribution fees over the festive season. Even though I was using a pretty average amount of gas and electricity, my bill shot up thanks to these cheeky extra charges. So, I decided to give them a call to find out what was going on, and they came out with this vague excuse about pipeline works and maintenance – which I wasn't buying.
After speaking to a few other companies, it became clear that I was definitely being ripped off. On top of that, Direct Energy decided to scrap budget billing for households on low incomes and move everyone onto this "Average Billing" scheme which definitely seemed more beneficial to them than us customers. Luckily, I made the switch to a different supplier and I'm pleased to see that they've got much fairer billing practices and charges.Recent experience with customer service
I've been getting loads of phone calls from this company every day, even though I've asked them several times to stop. Turns out there was a mix-up with my account because they had someone else's details linked to my phone number. I spoke to a few different people who promised to fix it, but the calls just kept coming.
Unauthorized billing
Direct Energy keeps sending me bills for a property I don't even own anymore, even though I've tried loads of times to let them know my new contact details since April. They just won't listen and it's making me really annoyed and like they're trying to trick me. I never asked for their services or signed up for anything, but they won't stop billing me. I really think people should steer clear of this company.
Switching electricity service
I just changed my electricity provider and I have to say, the whole process was really smooth. Tarendeep was the first agent who helped me sign up, and he made everything super easy to understand. Then, I had a chat with Jose who double-checked everything and made sure I was well taken care of. Jose was great at customer service and it was a relief to be able to chat to someone who understood me clearly as a native English speaker. I am genuinely impressed with the service I received from both Tarendeep and Jose at this company.
Energy plan through a broker
I didn't bother going straight to the energy company, I decided to use a broker called United Energy and I have to say, it made a huge difference. I joined their plan last year and my rate is a steady 8 cents, while everyone else in my area is paying 12 cents. The service was excellent and the whole process was really easy. Honestly, if you're considering going with Direct Energy, do yourself a favour and go with United Energy. They'll definitely make things a lot simpler for you.
Transitioning to new energy provider
I've just changed my energy provider and had a bit of a nightmare with my old one. They hit me with some sneaky charges when I tried to switch, left me with a bill of around £800 to £900. Honestly, it's so irritating and feels like they're just trying to rip me off. It's really disappointing to see a company that's meant to be looking after their customers pulling tricks like this. To be honest, I'd suggest giving them a miss if you're trying to save money and dodge getting stung with extra costs.
Energy delivery fee waiver
I was told that I wouldn't have to pay for delivery if I used 0GJ of energy, but I've been hit with a bill that's gone to a debt collection agency instead. This company can't be relied on and doesn't keep their word. I'm really let down by their deceptive ways and how they don't take responsibility. I wouldn't advise anyone to use them.
Low-income payment plan denial
I tried to set up a payment plan with the company because I don't earn much, but they said no. This meant that my disabled aunt and I suddenly had no power and no water. Our food went bad because the fridge and freezer stopped working. It's clear that the company doesn't care about helping customers who are struggling financially - they only care about those who have money. I wouldn't recommend this company if you're on a low income or think you might have money problems in the future.
